We're only halfway through 2025, but the music's already been unforgettable. Some artists made big comebacks. Others tried something completely new. Kali Uchis – Sincerely, With lush orchestration and emotional depth, this is one of Uchis' most personal works yet. It touches on themes of motherhood and grief. (Photo by) Nearly a decade ago, Abel Tesfaye — better known as The Weeknd — earned his first No. 1 album in the United States with Beauty Behind the Madness. Two years prior, he became a breakout star with Kiss Land, which instantly made him a critical favorite and one of the most exciting new artists in the music industry. Beauty Behind the Madness, however, turned him into a global superstar thanks to hits like "The Hills," "Can't Feel My Face," and "In the Night." Almost 10 years later, that project remains successful, and this week it reaches a landmark that the Canadian powerhouse has only seen once before. 350 Weeks on the Billboard 200 Beauty Behind the Madness celebrates reaching 350 weeks on the Billboard 200, a number it hits this time around. The blockbuster collection shifted another 12,000 copies last frame, according to Luminate. That's enough for it to return to the upper half of the 200-spot roster, as it climbs from No. 110 to No. 98. Starboy Nears 400 Weeks on the Ranking The Weeknd has only seen one other album spend at least 350 weeks on the Billboard 200. Starboy passed that mark about a year ago and remains present, sitting a little more than a dozen spaces above Beauty Behind the Madness. In just two weeks, Starboy will become The Weeknd's first 400-week charter in America. A Strong Showing on Multiple Charts Beauty Behind the Madness appears on two genre-focused rankings in addition to the all-style Billboard 200. It holds at No. 12 on the Top R&B Albums tally with 351 weeks on that list and lifts slightly on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums ranking. If the early-career release is still present on that chart next week, it will mark 200 frames on the competitive roster. The Weeknd's Five Charting Albums The Weeknd currently claims five hit albums in America, all of which appear on multiple tallies at once. In addition to Beauty Behind the Madness and Starboy, both After Hours and House of Balloons also reside on a trio of rankings. His most recent full-length, Hurry Up Tomorrow, can still be found on six charts simultaneously, though it is declining on most of them.

Plus, the runners-up: Wallen's 'Just in Case' and 'I'm the Problem'; Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things'; and Drake's 'Nokia.' Is this the first time this has happened? Kind regards, John Buergo-Rodriguez Hi John, The Hot 100 the past four weeks, on the charts dated June 7, 14, 21 and 28, has been good for songs in the top 10, given their lofty peak positions. It's less optimal for fans of upward movement in the region, as it reflects that beyond the top two, every other song is past its high point. The relative inaction ties into Jason Lipshutz's recent analysis of how numerous songs are linking long stays in the Hot 100's upper reaches, crowding out rising songs that could take their place. The Hot 100's top 10 steadiness also aligns with the relative drought of artists earning their first No. 1s so far this year. Still, history! The four latest Hot 100s mark the first in the chart's nearly 67-year archives in which every song in the top 10 ranked or had already peaked at Nos. 1 or 2. Notably, one prior week featured 10 No. 1- or No. 2-peaking Hot 100 hits in the top 10 — but at the time, three of them had yet to reach such heights. On the March 27, 2021-dated chart, Cardi B's 'Up' was No. 1, above four former leaders — 'Drivers License' by Olivia Rodrigo; 'What's Next' by Drake; 'Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd; and 'Mood' by 24kGoldn, featuring iann dior — as well as two prior No. 2 hits: Ariana Grande's '34+35,' featuring Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, and Drake's 'Wants and Needs,' featuring Lil Baby. Meanwhile, three songs were on their way up: Silk Sonic's 'Leave the Door Open,' The Weeknd and Ariana Grande's 'Save Your Tears,' both to No. 1, and Dua Lipa's 'Levitating,' to No. 2. Generally, when songs are spending relatively less time in the Hot 100's top 10, more opportunity exists for other hits to enter, increasing the chances that they'll peak anywhere between Nos. 1 and 10, not just the top two. Hi Walter, It did — it ranked at No. 19 on the Hot 100 dated Aug. 3, 1985, following two weeks at its No. 15 best. The next week, it also placed at No. 19 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. It reached No. 8 on the latter list, as well as No. 1 on Dance Club Songs (where it was never No. 19). How about 19 other coincidences? First up, Garbage's '#1 Crush' was No. 1 on Alternative Airplay, throughout all of the first month of 1997. Face to Face's '10-9-8' hit No. 7 on Dance Club Songs in 1984. Stevie Nicks' 'Edge of Seventeen (Just Like the White Winged Dove)' dropped to No. 18 on the Hot 100 for a week in 1982. Not No. 17, but on the edge of it. Similar to Paul Hardcastle, Steely Dan took 'Hey Nineteen' to No. 10 on the Hot 100 and No. 11 on Adult Contemporary. For a week in 1981 on the latter list, though, at ranked at … hey: 19! 21 Savage has one No. 21-peaking hit on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, as featured on Central Cee's 'GBP,' earlier this year. Thirty Seconds to Mars' first two charted titles each reached No. 30 on Pop Airplay. (No data available on where they peaked on the planet next further out after Earth.) Before it spun to No. 2 on Alternative Airplay in 1997, Smashing Pumpkins' 'Thirty-Three' debuted at No. 33. 38 Special's 'You Keep Runnin' Away' reached No. 38 on the Hot 100 in 1982. Fans of UB40 and American Top 40 will appreciate that UB40 ranked at No. 40 on the Hot 100 for a week in 1991. Sum 41 has notched two hits on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, and both peaked at No. 41: 'Out for Blood,' in 2019, and 'Landmines,' in 2024. 50 Cent has charted one No. 50 hit on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs: 'We Up,' featuring Kendrick Lamar, in 2013. For a week in 1975, Paul Simon's '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover' ranked at No. 50 on the Hot 100. Nelson Riddle's 'Route 66 Theme' got its kicks at No. 66 on the Hot 100 for a week in 1962. In August 2015, Mac Miller's '100 Grandkids' claimed one week on the Hot 100, at No. 100. That November, The Game's '100,' featuring Drake, wrapped its run on the Hot 100 at No. 100. For two weeks in 1999, vocal group 112's Room 112 ranked at No. 112 on the Billboard 200. Blink-182 albums have spent five weeks at No. 182 on the Billboard 200. Oh, and April Wine's 'Just Between You and Me' hit No. 21 on the Hot 100 dated April 25, 1981. Plus, the peak dates for Taylor Swift's 'August' (Aug. 8, 2020), The Tempos' 'See You in September' (Sept. 7, 1959), Blue October's 'Hate Me' (Oct. 7, 2006) and Bad Bunny's 'Mr. October' (Oct. 28, 2023). Perhaps even more fittingly, *NSYNC's 'It's Gonna Be Me' debuted on the chart dated May 6, 2000. As for one more example from this year, Travis Scott's '4×4' didn't peak at No. 4 on any chart. However, taking a quick trip to the Poland Songs chart, '4×4' equaled a No. 16 peak there. ‘I Came Back With a Vengeance': 7 Best Moments From Launch of The Weeknd's Sold-Out Run at L.A.'s SoFi Stadium
The Weeknd has a love-hate relationship with Los Angeles. He wanted to flee from the fast life on 'Escape From LA' from his 2020 blockbuster album After Hours. Five years later, he reflected on simpler, sun-soaked times on 'Take Me Back to LA' off of his latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow. But on Wednesday night (June 25), he seemed genuinely happy to be back in the city he's called home for years. It's been way too long. We have some memories on this stage right here, don't we?' he reminded the 70,000 fans at SoFi Stadium. The Weeknd and SoFi have quite the history. During his second of two sold-out shows at the Inglewood, Calif. stadium in September 2022, the Ethiopian-Canadian superstar lost his voice, an incident that made the pop star feel so defeated that he began debating taking a curtain call on the persona fans have come to know and love and inspired his first feature film Hurry Up Tomorrow that was released in theaters earlier this year. Even though he performed two make-up shows in November 2022, one might expect him to experience PTSD stepping back on that stage three years later. But for The Weeknd, how could he fear a venue he's now made history at? KTLA 5 reported that the 'Blinding Lights' hitmaker now holds the record for the most sold-out shows by a male artist at SoFi Stadium with a total of seven shows, three from the 2022 leg of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour and four from this current 2025 leg. Here are the seven best moments from The Weeknd's first SoFi Stadium stop of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour. While The Weeknd has been honoring his Ethiopian heritage by donning a black and gold kaba – a hand-embroidered Ethiopian robe historically worn by royals and traditionally worn at weddings – during his latest live performances, his fans honored him by wearing his old wardrobe. From the white T-shirt, vest and pants from the 2023 European leg of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour to the infamous After Hours era red suit jacket and black slacks with a bloody, bandaged nose, the XO fans paid homage to his different eras. Travis Scott brought out Playboi Carti to perform 'FE!N' during his historic headlining show at SoFi Stadium back in November 2023. Almost two years later, the King Vamp returned the favor by surprising his ravenous fanbase with his raging partner in crime. Scott stepped out to 'Goosebumps' before the two sent the audience into a frenzy with a delirious performance of 'Crush' from Carti's Billboard 200-topping album MUSIC, with Carti's guttural shrieks bouncing off the walls and rapidly flashing strobe lights bouncing off the crowd. They saved 'FE!N' for the high-octane finale of Carti's opening set. The Weeknd and his right-hand producer Mike Dean cooked up a number of remarkably seamless transitions for his 2023 co-headlining Coachella set and first legs of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour. But for this recent leg, and with the Hurry Up Tomorrow album now added to the setlist, the two had to go back into the lab and create a new experience. The final reverberating shrieks from 'Wake Me Up' blended right into the pulsating bassline from the second half of the After Hours title track. And a pitched-up version of the chorus from Metro Boomin's 'Creepin,' also featuring 21 Savage, led straight into the pitched-up sample of Jon B and Babyface's 1995 Hot 100 top 10 hit 'Someone to Love' that kicks off 'Niagara Falls.' After concluding 'Faith,' The Weeknd took off his gold-plated mask and came face-to-face with the crowd, who was in an uproar during the dramatic reveal. Right after revealing his face to fans, The Weeknd took a minute to bask in glory in the same spot he once felt defeated. 'I came back with a vengeance. Four nights, SoFi, back to back to back,' he exclaimed. 'And that's because of you. We gotta make sure night one is the best night out of four nights though, right?' He later commemorated the momentous occasion by tweaking the second verse on his and Anitta's 'São Paulo': 'Hit it from the back, she louder than four sold-out nights at SoFi.' Following his opening stint, Baby Boi hopped back on stage to perform their Hot 100 No. 3 hit 'Timeless' and 'Rather Lie' from MUSIC. Carti took a page out of The Weeknd's playbook by interspersing some (Auto-Tuned) melodic runs as well as his signature 'schyeah' ad-lib throughout both songs, and the joint performance reminded 00XO fans that outsiders can't handle the both of them at the top. When 'Rather Lie' debuted at No. 4 on the Hot 100 in March, The Weeknd earned his 20th top 10 hit and tied Mariah Carey and Prince's record for the most consecutive years with a top 10 hit (12) in history. That same week, Carti became the first rapper to notch more than 30 Hot 100 hits in a single week and the third artist ever, after Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift. The Weeknd coached one lucky girl through an intimate duet of the Dawn FM standout track 'Out of Time' on the floor of SoFi. He later handed the microphone to another fan right before the end of the chorus, who belted, '… make you mine, out of tiiime!'
