Priyanshu Painyuli opens up about lost opportunity to work with Irrfan Khan due to illness: 'Very unfortunate moment for me'
Priyanshu Painyuli shared how a Vishal Bhardwaj film with Irrfan Khan was shelved due to Irrfan's illness, marking a missed opportunity. A Heartbreaking Moment in His Career Talking to The Free Press Journal, Priyanshu revealed, "There was another film with Vishal Bhardwaj that he was making but he stopped because Irrfan sir fell sick. That is one very unfortunate moment for me". Painyuli said that that was a deeply disappointing moment for him, as he had a strong desire to work with Irrfan, even if it was for just one scene. In fact, his role involved several scenes with the late actor. To prepare, Priyanshu committed to gaining weight and looked to age himself for the part by eating heavily for two weeks and growing a beard and moustache. Despite his dedication, the film was ultimately shelved due to Irrfan's health issues, marking a significant missed opportunity in Priyanshu's career. Close to Landing Lead in 'The White Tiger' He shared that he was a strong contender for the lead role in 'The White Tiger', which was ultimately played by Adarsh Gourav . He recalled being shortlisted, meeting with the director, and undergoing a makeup test to embody the character. However, the part didn't go to him because he appeared 'a little too urban for the role.' Despite this, Priyanshu praised Adarsh's performance, saying, 'When I saw Adarsh in the movie, I felt he fit the bill perfectly. He is a great actor.' Mahesh Babu, Rajamouli To Kickstart Next Leg Of SSMB29, Will Priyanka Chopra Join In?

Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are currently busy with the shoot of their highly-anticipated film SSMB29. It is being reported that the next leg of the shooting is all set to begin later this month. The big-budget action-adventure is finally moving into its next major schedule, and speculation is rife that global icon Priyanka Chopra may soon join the cast. 123 Telugu has reported that Mahesh, Rajamouli, and SSMB29's team members are gearing up to kickstart the film's next schedule on June 9. The soon-to-commence schedule will take place in Hyderabad. But it is not clear whether Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran will join for the upcoming schedule. Earlier this year, speculations were rife that Nana Patekar has been roped in to play an important role in it that will shape the protagonist's journey in SSMB29. As per reports, a look test was conducted for the veteran actor and he was supposed to play the role of Babu's father in the film. But seems like there's little truth to the story. When News18 Showsha reached out to Patekar, he told us, 'No." However, a while back, a reliable source had informed us that the RRR and Baahubali director had approached him last year but he politely turned down the offer. The reason? The role didn't entice him enough. The source further revealed to us that the makers of SSMB29 had offered a very heavy amount to Patekar for the role for the shoot of which he was supposed to allot about a couple of weeks. 'The money offered was close to an unprecedented Rs 20 crore. And he had to only shoot for about 15 days. But he felt that the role wasn't something that he wanted to sink his teeth into," the source added. As for SSMB29, it marks Chopra Jonas' comeback Indian film after The White Tiger that released in 2021. SSMB29, which is being compared to Indiana Jones for its scale and ambition, is written by Rajamouli's father, V Vijayendra Prasad. It's slated for a 2027 release. Coming to Rajamouli, post SSMB29, he'll begin the shoot of Made In India, a pan-Indian release on the life of the Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke.
