Charli XCX Eyed to Join Netflix's "Chronicles of Narnia"
Charli XCX is being eyed to join Greta Gerwig's film adaptation of the popular C.S. Lewis tales "Narnia". The multiple Grammy winner is among the top choices for a key role: Jadis, The White Witch, and there have been talks for a little while, but nothing is set at the moment. In 2018, Netflix announced it would develop new series and film projects based on Narnia and brought Gerwig on board in 2020 to adapt and direct. While it remains in the early stages, and details are scant, the movie is getting an exclusive two-week Imax global run for Thanksgiving 2026 in advance of the pic's drop on the streamer. This is Gerwig's follow-up to delivering Warner Bros its highest-grossing movie ever, "Barbie" ($1.44 billion), which also scored an Oscar win for Billie Eilish and Finneas' original song 'What Was I Made For?' Charli XCX's song 'Speed Drive' also was part of the film's soundtrack. It's unclear whether there would be a musical component to any Narnia contribution from the singer-actress. The Brit singer, who is coming off five Brit Award wins at the weekend, has been increasingly in-demand for film projects over the past 12 months and has ramped up her movie career quickly. Upcoming debut screen credits include Cathy Yan's "The Gallerist" and Romain Gavras' 'Sacrifice".

Charli XCX Reportedly In Talks To Appear in Greta Gerwig's ‘Narnia' Film
Charli XCX created a clubland dream world with her Brat revolution, and now it seems she may be stepping further into the realm of fantasy. As first reported by Deadline, the pop star is being considered for a role in Greta Gerwig's upcoming Narnia film, which the revered director is creating for Netflix. Deadline reports that the singer is 'among top choices for a key role' but does not note which of the beloved characters this might be — though the report notes it 'potentially could be Jadis, The White Witch.' Gerwig, who sparked a global movement of her own with her 2023 Barbie movie, is directing a take on C.S. Lewis' classic The Chronicles of Narnia series, with the film scheduled for released on Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving Day), 2026. The film will screen in IMAX theaters for two weeks and then be available exclusively on Netflix starting on Christmas Day. If Charli does indeed appear in the movie, it would be directly in line with her stated ambitions of focusing her energy on acting and filmmaking. Last December it was announced that the singer had joined the cast of the upcoming film The Gallerist, directed by Cathy Yan and starring Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega. XCX is also producing The Moment, a film being produced by lauded indie studio A24 and based on her own idea. The Moment also marks the first project from Charli's new production company, Studio365. Viewers will see the pop star appear in Benito Skinner's Overcompensating series, Gregg Araki's upcoming thriller I Want Your Sex, Daniel Goldhaber's Faces of Death remake and Julia Jackman's 100 Nights of Hero graphic-novel adaptation.
