JADE's Little Mix 'boot camp' has shaped her solo material

JADE's "boot camp" experience in Little Mix has influenced her solo material. The 32-year-old singer - who has dropped her surname Thirlwall for her career away from the girl group - will release her debut solo album That's Showbiz Baby in September and admits that her time with the Black Magic hitmakers has shaped her individual work. Speaking to NME at the Glastonbury Festival, JADE said: "Being in a girl band is the ultimate boot camp on how to survive the music industry. First off, you're a woman, and then you're in a girl band, and it's always hard to prove to people that you're a credible artist and that you're worthy of appreciation. "When we first started in like 2011 - especially coming from a show like The X Factor - we were constantly proving to people why we deserve a seat at the table and why we deserve longevity. "Being in Little Mix really was the ultimate test of enduring that. Time and time again, we reinvented ourselves and to be in a girl band that lasts for over 10 years is pretty remarkable. You don't hear of that often." She continued: "I'm so proud of that part of my life, and going into my solo music, it was like, 'OK, now I get to write just purely about my own experiences', because in a girl band the topics have to be a bit more universal. On my own though, it was important for me to express myself. "It's not a case of, '(Little Mix) was the old me, and this is me finally being who I am', because I love Little Mix and I love what we stood for! It's not about (that era) being dead and gone. That was the past and I loved it, but now this is the new chapter." JADE performed on the Woodsies stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday (28.06.25) and confessed that she was grateful for a "pep talk" by Spice Girl Melanie C as she grappled with nerves before her performance - which was introduced by former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa. The Angel of My Dreams singer said: "I was so nervous beforehand and I was backstage nearly about to cry because I was so overwhelmed, but then Mel C came running over to say it was going to be amazing and that I've got this! "She gave me a little pep talk, and then my friend Ncuti (Gatwa) bumped into me and offered to do the intro for me. "He introduced me on stage and helped me feel really ready and good about myself... but I still feel like nothing prepares you for the adrenaline of the Glastonbury crowd, because they really are like something else."

AJ says: 'When we came together to film Building The Band, we never imagined we'd soon be saying goodbye to our friend, Liam Payne. 'Liam is a guest judge in later episodes and through his presence we see his deep love for music and his unwavering commitment to helping others find their voice. 'It is through that spirit that we dedicate this series to Liam and his family.' Building The Band, which features Nicole Scherzinger as the main judge and mentor, will begin to drop on the streaming giant next Wednesday after Liam's loved ones signed off on his scenes in the show. But fans hoping to see him straight away in the ten-part season will be disappointed as he will only appear from episode seven onwards alongside fellow guest judge Kelly Rowland. The first batch of four, hour-long episodes will land next week, followed by another three on July 16. The remaining three episodes will go out on July 23. It was a bittersweet moment for fans of Liam and One Direction last week when Netflix dropped the trailer for the show, and featured him extensively throughout. Filmed last August, he is seen coaching a wannabe band, telling them: 'You've got a lot of work to do vocally — I need to feel that connection between you guys.' In another moment, he seemingly refers to his own One Direction past when he comments on the show's selection process. One Direction were formed on The X Factor in 2010, although the five bandmates got to meet each other before the group was put together. On Building The Band, Liam says: 'How these bands are put together is not normal — we were not put together that way.' As the Downton estate faces an uncertain future, the Earl is seen in the trailer asking his wife what his dearly departed mother would have done in his situation. Traitors feel the tension LOTS of whispers are leaking out about the upcoming series of The Celebrity Traitors, which has already been filmed and looks set to air on BBC One in September. Singer Jade leads chants of 'fuck Reform' at Glastonbury

Thirwall, who now performs under the name JADE, added a call-and-response section during new track FUFN. An extremely talented person.' Another added: 'Love Jade! This song is great, and so is what she's doing with it - queen!' Others questioned why she chose to criticise Reform, saying: 'I'm not a Reform voter or supporter but I find it odd that it's 'Fuck Reform' and not the establishment Tory/Labour parties that have brought us to this point.' Olly Murs shares sweet moment with starstruck young fan during performance

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Olly Murs gave a young fan a moment he'll never forget in a heartfelt exchange. The Dance With Me Tonight hitmaker was performing at Carmel Racecourse over the weekend when he noticed a young boy crying on the front row of the crowd. He hopped down the barrier to talk to the boy, who tearfully told the singer his name is Zach. Speaking into the microphone in a video shared on his Instagram, Olly said: 'Now, everybody seems to be having a great time. 'Why are you crying son? Are you excited to meet me? Why are you crying?' In an incredibly wholesome moment, Zach admitted: 'Because you're my favourite.' Olly handled the sweet moment like a pro, keeping things lighthearted as he got the crowd to cheer for the lad. 'It's so lovely to meet ya! I hope you don't cry for the rest of the show,' he playfully quipped. 'Are you gonna enjoy yourself? Are you gonna dance? Good! Give it up for Zach everyone!' Olly joked Zach might not be able to remember his rise to fame on The X Factor in 2009, but he should still know the next song. 'This is Thinking of Me,' he said as he launched into the 2010 hit. Sharing the clip on Instagram, he wrote: 'Saw this kid front row crying bless him, Didn't feel right to just carry on without jumping down check he was ok!! Zach see you at another show mate!sorry that my forehead and chin are so terrifying.' It's yet another sweet example of Olly showing just how much his fans truly mean to him. Last month, he returned to the stage at London's O2 Arena after he was forced to cancel some gigs due to illness. After leaving the stage on May 24, he posted a photo on Instagram of himself looking up at the screen, on which a snap of him with a fan who died earlier this year was displayed. More Trending He wrote in the caption: 'Lou that was for you last night darlin 🙏🏻😞❤️', with fans praising the 'beautiful' tribute. 'Lou supported me everywhere up and down the country, her energy was great and she had such an infectious laugh and personality,' he continued. 'You'd always hear her before you could see her hahaha and often I'd love asking her how the show was and her then brutally telling me which songs i shouldn't keep on the set but honestly that was Lou and it wont be the same without her x (sic)' He added: 'I think I speak on behalf of all my fans to say your be missed lou 😢 thinking of you and your family right now xx 😣🙏🏻💔' Got a story?
