New Diwali Extravaganza To Light Up Orewa In 2025 – Fundraising For Harbour Hospice Continues

'Were confident that the Diwali Extravaganza will be every bit as successful as the Greek Extravaganzas, and we can't wait to bring the community together again for such a meaningful cause,' says Extravaganza fundraiser, local Rotarian, Theo … After seven successful years of organising the beloved Greek Extravaganza fundraiser, local Rotarian, Theo Simeonidis is returning to the spotlight with a brand-new community celebration: Diwali Extravaganza 2025. Set to take place on Saturday, 18 October 2025 at the Orewa Arts & Events Centre, this vibrant event will continue a proud legacy of raising vital funds for Harbour Hospice. From 2017 to 2023, Theo led the annual Greek Extravaganza under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Orewa-Millwater, raising a remarkable $140,000 for Harbour Hospice with the support of local businesses and the wider Hibiscus Coast community. However, after the 2023 Extravaganza, Theo brought down the curtain on this very successful event, simply because he needed the opportunity to re-charge his batteries and to spend a bit more leisure time with his family, as well as continuing to run his own insurance advice business! Theo said, 'rust never sleeps', and so, after 18 months, I really couldn't put aside the idea of launching a new event – Diwali Extravaganza 2025. I have teamed up with Geetanjali Vashisth, a local resident of our Hibiscus Coast community, to jointly develop and host this event. To be held in Orewa on Saturday, 18 October 2025, the Diwali Extravaganza will continue the legacy proudly created by the former Greek Extravaganza, to raise funds for Harbour Hospice. The event promises a celebration of Indian culture, colour, and cuisine. It will be a lively and inclusive evening filled with entertainment, flavour, and purpose, building on the strong foundations of past fundraising efforts. Tickets go on sale from 30 July 2025 via Tickets are $90 each or $850 for a table of 10. Those keen to attend are encouraged to register their early interest in table bookings or businesses interested in donating cash or prizes, can contact Theo by emailing theo@ 'We're confident that the Diwali Extravaganza will be every bit as successful as the Greek Extravaganzas, and we can't wait to bring the community together again for such a meaningful cause,' says Theo. 'Encantandia Chronicles: Sang'gre:' Muros defends Lireo to death, Theo saves Danaya's life

As if Thursday's blood bath wasn't enough, more deaths ensured on Friday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" as the four kingdoms of Encantadia — Hatoria, Punjabwe, Sapiro, Adamya — came together to face Mitena. To defend Lireo, Muros (Carlos Gonzales) took on Mitena and her army all by himself and quickly fell to his death. Meanwhile, Theo (Martin Del Rosario) and Sang'gre Danaya (Sanya Lopez) transported themselves back from Earth and quickly found themselves in a little battle with Ednu (Jamie Wilson) and Olgana (Bianca Manalo), who quickly loosed an arrow into Theo's chest. It propelled Danaya to transform into a full-powered Sang'gre, who took on the two by her lonesome. But just when she thought she put Olgana and Ednu to rest and attended to the wounded Theo, the villain set her eyes on Danaya and aimed her arrow at her. The injured Theo, still quite alert, was quick to his feet and quickly took yet another arrow on the chest. In dying, he saved Danaya's life. "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" ended Friday's episode with the four kingdoms meeting face to face with Mitena and her army. "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube. — LA, GMA Integrated News
