Manhunt for sex offender, 66, last seen at train station in popular seaside town – days after he was freed from jail
COPS have launched a manhunt for a sex offender who was last seen at a train station in a popular seaside town. Christopher Spelman, 66, is wanted for failing to comply with sexual offender notifications requirements. 2 He was last spotted at Bournemouth train station on July 4 at 10.56am. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We are continuing to ask for your help to find Christopher Spelman, 66, who is wanted for failing to comply with sexual offender notifications requirements. "Spelman, initially from Prescot, Merseyside, is likely to be living in a tent and travelling – using transport hubs and campsites. "At the start of July, Spelman was released from prison near Weymouth and failed to register an address with police – in breach of his notification requirements. "As an update, we have this sighting of him on CCTV at Bournemouth railway station at 10.56am on Friday 4th July. "He exits the station and turns in the direction of Holdenhurst Road. Family pay touching tribute to ‘caring' 78-year-old killed after car smashed into her home
A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a "caring, sharing, and stunning" mum who was killed in a tragic crash. Barbara Howard died in hospital after a Jaguar car ploughed into her property, in Coventry, shortly before 5pm on July 17. 2 2 The Jaguar had been involved in a smash with a Volkswagen van at the junction of Shilton Lane and Lentons Lane. It is understood the vehicle then swerved off the road and hit Barbara's house. The 78-year-old was inside at the time, and rushed to hospital where she died a short time later. In a statement, Barbara's heartbroken family said: "Caring, sharing, glamorous, and stunning, someone who loved life. "Dancing mother of Debbie and Julie, our best friend was taken in the most horrific way. "We love her to the moon and back." A spokesperson for Midlands Police said: "Our investigation into the collision is continuing, and the drivers of both vehicles involved were spoken to at the scene. "We are urging anyone with information or footage to get in touch with us. Shark attack off Brit hols hotspot Canary Islands as surfer mauled by beast & left with deep gashes on leg
A SURFER was bitten by shark in a horror attack just off the second largest Canary island. The man was hovering above the waters of Fuerteventura, practising the sport of Downward Foiling when the shark attacked his board and bit him deeply in the leg. 2 2 Spanish TV channel Antena 3 reported on the terrifying attack, explaining that the man was practising downwind foiling - a sport where a surfer uses a hydrofoil board to glide smoothly over the ocean's surface. The outlet published a video showing two bloody gashes just below the man's knee. His wounds - described as "deep" - gave rise to panic. Luckily, no tragedy occurred, and the man was able to make his way back to the shore in the area of Los Molinos, located on the west coast of Fuerteventura. No details are given about how the man fought off the shark. M4 brought to a standstill as drivers get out of their cars & cops launch response
THE M4 has been brought to a standstill as drivers get out of their cars and cops launch a response. National Highways said the M4 westbound between J15 Coate and J16 near Swindon was closed due to an incident being led by the Wiltshire Police. 2 2 Diversion routes were in operation. All closures have since been lifted following the incident, with delays clearing quickly, National Highways said. Meanwhile there are 45-minute delays on the M25 anti-clockwise in Kent due to an incident between J5 (A21/Chipstead) and J4. National Highways said on X: "Lane 1 (of 3) is closed following a lorry trailer fire." It added that recovery had almost reached the scene, and there's around seven miles of congestion. Chaos continues to unfold on the M25 as a broken down coach has closed 2 (of 4) lanes on the motorway, anti-clockwise between J6 (Godstone) and J5 (A21/Chipstead).
