JLo shares details of 'very difficult time' after Ben Affleck split in her new track

Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez has furnished details about the "very difficult time" after her split from Ben Affleck in her latest song. The 55-year-old singer/actress split from the Hollywood actor in April 2024 after less than two years of marriage and the break-up came shortly after she cancelled her 'This Is Me ... Now' tour to spend more time with her family, reports 'Female First UK'. However, she is now preparing to hit the road again and she's been working on new music, which she debuted at a fan listening party in Los Angeles. An attendee from the show told US Weekly one of Jennifer's new songs called 'Wreckage of You' touches on the tough times she's been through recently, saying, "'Wreckage of You' is a pop ballad that she told us she co-wrote and recorded two weeks ago. She said she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals when the idea of the song came to her'. They continued, "She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself. Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger'. "She feels very free right now and on this summer tour, she wants to perform some new material that she's been working on because a lot of these new songs express how she feels', they added. Another listening party guest told the publication, "'Wreckage of You' is a very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person'. As per 'Female First UK', Jennifer kicks off her Up All Night tour in Pontevedra, Spain on July 8. The shows will be performed across Europe before heading to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Armenia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. She will then return to the US later in the year to kick off her Up All Night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on December 30. IANS

Jennifer Lopez hints at heartbreaking Ben Affleck split in emotional new song

also known as Jennifer Lopez, has debuted new music following her split last year from Ben Affleck, whom she had got back together with after dating in the early 2000s A new song debuted by Jennifer Lopez this week is said to reference her split from Ben Affleck. The track was performed by the singer-songwriter at an event recently. Jennifer, now 55, filed for divorce from Ben, now 52, last year, after she married the actor in 2022. The exes, who rekindled their romance a year prior to the nuptials, had previously been engaged to each other back in 2002, but had ended up separating for the first time in 2004. ‌ Her split from Ben is now said to have inspired new music. Jennifer, also known as has written songs about him before, with their reconciliation said to have influenced her most recent album, This Is Me... Now, released last year. ‌ Ahead of her upcoming tour, Jennifer invited 30 fans based in Los Angeles to a listening party on Wednesday, as reported by Us Weekly. She's said to have debuted six new songs at the event, including Wreckage of You. A source teased to the outlet that the ballad explores her latest break-up from Ben. Speaking about the song, they said: "[It's a] very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person." According to attendee Edgardo Luis Rivera, Jennifer told her fans that she co-wrote and recorded it two weeks ago. He said: "She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally." He said that included cancelling her tour and focusing on herself. Edgardo added that a year later she now feels "better" and "stronger than ever," with her wanting to write about coming out stronger from a "bad situation". Edgardo said the MTV Video Music Awards winner had thought of the word 'wreck' "because it means destruction, but she wasn't destroyed". He said that the lyrics include: "I'm stronger after the wreckage of you." ‌ Jennifer is said to have also performed five upbeat tracks at the listening party. The songs - titled Up All Night, Regular, Free, Save Me Tonight and Birthday - have been described as "really good" and having a "real vibe" by one source. Edgardo, however, said she admitted to her guests that she wasn't sure yet how or if she will release them. They are however all expected to be included on the setlist for her international tour Up All Night, which opens this month. ‌ The tour launches in Spain next week, before visiting venues in countries such as Italy, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates over the course of the coming weeks. It's currently scheduled to conclude in Kazakhstan next month. Upon her return to the US, Jennifer will begin a residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas shortly before the New Year. She will perform at the venue on December 30 and 31, as well as January 2 and 3. Jennifer will then return for an additional eight shows in March next year.

Movie review: 'Something Beautiful' showcases Miley Cyrus in command

1 of 3 | Miley Cyrus released the "Something Beautiful" visual album following the debut of her album of the same name. File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo LOS ANGELES, June 11 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful, in U.S. and Canadian theaters Thursday and international theaters June 27, demonstrates Miley Cyrus' command of both her musical artistry and performance. The film is a 55-minute collection of videos for the songs on her latest album, Something Beautiful. Each song warrants a unique costume and setting, but most focus on Cyrus' solo performance. Many of the videos predominantly favor closeups of Cyrus' face and she commands the screen while singing. In wide shots, her body language between dance moves projects confidence and self-assuredness. Even a hair flip is an intentional, considered move. Contrast this with something like Jennifer Lopez's This Is Me... Now, also an ambitious musical piece, but one with an ensemble cast and elaborate visual effects. While that allowed Lopez to explore her relationship with love, Cyrus' simplicity is equally effective. "Golden Burning Sun" features Cyrus on a motorcycle against a red sky. She's having fun on a stationary bike, posing when she's not singing. In "Easy Lover," she changes in her dressing room and gets made up by disembodied hands, but it conveys the moment she has to herself between performances. The "Walk of Fame" video has already made news since Cyrus contracted bacteria from the Hollywood Blvd. location, where Arnold Schwarzenegger's star is. It was already powerful to see her strut down the street and dancing, but adds a sympathetic wince when she actually touches the ground. Cyrus shared writing and directing credit with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. The trio succeeds in devising visuals that showcase Cyrus the performer and get out of her way. Cyrus is occasionally joined by a co-star or two, such as her boyfriend Maxx Morando and model Naomi Campbell. The focus remains on her interaction with them, and they are still mainly one-on-one interactions. The names of the songs will flash on screen a few times, but the film expects audiences are already familiar with the tracks. The album has been out since May 30. Cyrus has reinvented herself several times since being a child star. Her latest incarnation shows an artist less concerned with drastic changes and more comfortable just letting herself and the music move audiences. At that, she succeeds.
