Radiohead Sees Two Career-Defining Songs Reach New Peaks

Radiohead's 'Let Down' hits a new peak on the Hot Rock Songs chart at No. 12, while 'Creep' climbs ... More to an all-time high of No. 47 on the Billboard Global 200. (Photo by) Radiohead hasn't released a new album in almost a decade, as the group last promoted a full-length in 2016 with A Moon Shaped Pool. In the years since, the rock band has only delivered a handful of tunes from a few retrospective projects. Despite a relative quiet that has now lasted quite a long time, Radiohead is enjoying a particularly exciting period on the Billboard charts as one of its decades-old tracks goes viral. The quick success of that semi-obscure cut is helping one of the band's most famous tunes continue to find a global audience. Only two Radiohead songs appear on the Billboard charts this week, but both manage to hit a new high point on one tally apiece — though they achieve that feat on different rankings. Radiohead Inches Toward a New Top 10 Hit Within the past few weeks, "Let Down" has become a surprise hit for the band. After finding fans on TikTok, its viral success on the app translated to sales on iTunes and streams on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. This week, "Let Down" inches closer to becoming a top 10 hit on the Hot Rock Songs chart, rising from No. 14 to No. 12. That lift marks a new peak for the tune on the list of the most consumed rock tracks in America. 'Let Down' Holds at its All-Time Peak At the same time, "Let Down" holds steady at its all-time high on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs tallies. Radiohead's new smash also reenters the Billboard Global 200 at No. 191 — just one space beneath its previously-established highest position. 'Creep' Also Hits Rocks Higher Than Ever As "Let Down" continues to climb, "Creep" — widely regarded as Radiohead's most famous track — is growing internationally. This week, "Creep" pushes to No. 47 on the Billboard Global 200, setting a new top placement. The song became Radiohead's first hit on that global roster years ago, and is the band's highest-rising tune yet. Whenever the track climbs, the outfit hits a new career high as well. 'Creep' Remains a Top 10 Smash While "Creep" climbs on the Billboard Global 200, it declines on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which ranks the most consumed songs throughout the world with American sales and streaming data excluded. "Creep" does perform well on the only two U.S.-based rankings where it appears, sitting at No. 7 on the Alternative Streaming Songs tally and No. 9 on the Rock Streaming Songs chart, rising slightly on both lists.

The track went viral just a few weeks back, becoming a streaming and sales smash seemingly out of the blue. As fans around the world continue to tune in to 'Let Down,' the success of that album cut appears to have sparked a new round of interest in one of the alternative rock giant's most iconic tracks. 'Creep' climbs on the Billboard Global 200 this week, inching from No. 50 to No. 47. The position marks a new high point for both the track and Radiohead on Billboard's list of the most consumed tunes all around the world. The beloved composition first arrived on the Billboard Global 200 in May 2023. In the more than two years since its debut, the tune has spent a total of 98 weeks as one of the 200 most consumed songs around the world. It reaches its highest peak yet more than 30 years after being released as Radiohead's debut single. As it ascends on the Billboard Global 200, 'Creep' also slips two spaces on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. On that tally, Radiohead has soared as high as No. 52, but currently the group dips to No. 63. 'Creep' is also charting on a pair of U.S.-only rankings, as it holds inside the top 10 on both the Alternative Streaming Songs and Rock Streaming Songs lists. On those tallies, the cut settles at Nos. 7 and 9, respectively. 'Let Down' Reenters the Billboard Global 200 As 'Creep' rises on the Billboard Global 200, 'Let Down' returns to the same tally this week. The recently-viral track reenters at No. 191, missing out on its No. 190 peak by just one space. Now three frames into its run on the list, the cut is also enjoying a moment in the spotlight on several of Billboard's American rankings, as it currently lands inside the top 20 on three rock and alternative tallies.

(Photo by) Radiohead has been on the rise lately — not with brand new music, but thanks to a decades-old track that is finally receiving what many fans might call long-overdue attention. The group's song 'Let Down' began going viral several weeks ago, and its momentum hasn't slowed. Not only has it transformed into a Billboard chart hit in the United States, but it's also become a worldwide sensation for the first time, at least in one measurable way. Radiohead Charts a new Global Hit 'Let Down' debuts on the Billboard Global 200, the ranking of the most consumed songs on the planet. This week, the track barely manages to break onto the list, starting its journey at No. 190. 'Let Down' Joins 'Creep' Radiohead earns just its second-ever placement on the Billboard Global 200 with the arrival of 'Let Down.' In May 2023, 'Creep' debuted on the same roster. That tune, which had also been around for decades before it blasted onto the roster, climbed to an all-time peak of No. 51 just last frame — perhaps buoyed by the excitement surrounding 'Let Down.' This week, 'Creep' slips just two spaces to No. 53, while slightly declining on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. — which is compiled the same way but with American streams and sales removed. 'Let Down' begins its global journey just as 'Creep' marks its ninety-fifth week on both worldwide rosters. Radiohead Scores Another American Hit As 'Let Down' opens on the Billboard Global 200, it has yet to land on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., though it could appear soon. The track climbs to new highs on two of the three U.S.-based tallies it appears on at the same time. Radiohead's tune jumps to No. 15 on the Hot Alternative Songs chart and No. 18 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking, after debuting just a few positions lower last week. The same cut also appears on the Hot Rock Songs list, where it slips slightly from its launch position of No. 14 to No. 15.

Radiohead Scores Its First New Hit Song In Almost A Decade

Radiohead's 'Let Down' debuts at No. 85 on the Official Singles chart, marking the band's first U.K. ... More hit in nearly a decade. NEW YORK, NY - MARCH, 1993: (L-R) Bassist Colin Greenwood, lead singer/pianist Thom Yorke, drummer Phil Selway, guitarist Jonny Greenwood and singer/guitarist Ed O'Brien of the British rock group Radiohead, play cards during a portrait session circa March, 1993 in New York, New York. (Photo by) Radiohead hasn't released a new album in almost 10 years, and fans have been waiting patiently since the May 2016 arrival of A Moon Shaped Pool. The musicians who comprise the alternative act have largely been focused on side projects and solo efforts in the years since. While the group may be dormant when it comes to releasing new music, there's still plenty of hidden gems in Radiohead's discography for the public to discover. The rock band collects a new hit in its home country this week with a decades-old tune, one which has recently risen to the surface and finally earned a moment to shine. Radiohead's song "Let Down" debuts on the Official Singles chart this week. The cut opens at No. 85 on the list of the most consumed tracks in the U.K. As it launches, the cut becomes the group's twenty-fourth placement on the competitive tally. "Let Down" is Radiohead's first new win on the Official Singles chart in nearly a decade. The last time the group earned a placement on the roster was in May 2016, when both "Burn the Witch" and "Daydreaming" opened at Nos. 64 and 74, respectively just one week apart from one another. "Let Down" debuted on the Official Streaming chart in the U.K. last week, becoming one of the 100 most streamed tracks in the country for the very first time. In just its second frame on that tally, it bolts more than 20 spaces — from No. 77 to No. 56 — reaching a new all-time peak. "Let Down" is Radiohead's second career hit on the Official Streaming chart. It currently sits just four spaces behind the group's all-time best showing on that list — No. 52, which "Creep" has reached in the past. Speaking of "Creep," all the excitement surrounding "Let Down's" surge helps that smash, which may be regarded as Radiohead's most popular track, return to the Official Singles chart at No. 94. At the same time, it pushes north on the Official Streaming list to No. 58, coming in just a few spots behind its No. 52 peak. "Let Down" was originally released as a promotional single from Radiohead's album OK Computer in September 1997, but at the time, it wasn't a major chart success. Recently, "Let Down" has been going viral online, which has turned it into a proper chart win in the U.K. — a little less than 30 years after Radiohead first shared it with the world.

Radiohead's Decades-Old Song Finally Becomes A Rare Chart Hit For The Band

Radiohead's 'Let Down' debuts on four Billboard charts after going viral on TikTok, marking a rare ... More chart smash for the alt-rock legends. Radiohead, Phil Selway, Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke, Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Luna theater, Brussels, Belgium, 05/12/1995. (Photo by) TikTok users have a habit of turning some of the most random songs into hits. One user may cleverly include a track in a video, and in a matter of days, it becomes not only a trending cut on the platform, but also a strong streamer and bestseller, as attention is directed to an older release. Over the past several years, dozens of songs have benefited from going viral in this way. At the moment, Radiohead becomes the latest act to enjoy such a revival with a years-old track that has long been a fan favorite, but never a major chart win until now. The Radiohead tune 'Let Down' has been included in a huge number of uploads and what are known as fan-made edits throughout the past several days. That surge in activity has caused many listeners to turn to streaming platforms and digital download storefronts to consume the song. Some are discovering the composition for the first time, while others are reminded of how much the Radiohead track has impacted them. "Let Down" opens inside the top 20 on each tally it appears on this frame. It launches highest on the Hot Rock Songs list, coming in at No. 14. It also appears on the Hot Alternative Songs and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs rankings at Nos. 18 and 20, respectively. The track even approaches the Hot 100 — the general ranking of the most consumed cuts throughout the U.S. — but instead it is forced to settle for the Bubbling Under Hot 100. That tally ranks the songs that didn't quite make it to the main list, and this time around, "Let Down" starts at No. 20. Despite being one of the most successful names in alternative music history, Radiohead scores just its second career win on the Hot Alternative Songs chart this week. The group previously climbed as high as No. 3 with "Creep." The outfit has now landed eight wins on both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs tallies, including this latest arrival.
