That album was re-released to celebrate a special anniversary, and fans of the emo group showed their love for the set years after it first became a breakout success for the band. The reissue transformed Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge into a bestseller again in America. Several weeks later, the collection is still performing well, and My Chemical Romance doubles up as one of its later albums returns to become a strong seller once more. My Chemical Romance Claims Two Bestsellers My Chemical Romance doesn't have anything brand new to share, but longtime lovers of the band are still enamored with several of its releases. The act manages to double its total number of appearances as The Black Parade returns to the Top Album Sales chart at No. 35. The full-length sold a little under 2,300 copies in the U.S. during the most recent finished tracking frame, according to Luminate. While that figure is actually down from the period before, it is a less competitive frame on the Top Album Sales tally, so there is room for My Chemical Romance to break back in. The Black Parade Becomes a Top 40 Success Again As The Black Parade becomes a top 40 success once more, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge also climbs. The early career set almost breaks back into the top 10 on the Top Album Sales tally, as it jumps from No. 14 to No. 11. That rise comes despite a 27% decrease in pure purchases last week. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge sold a little under 4,600 copies across CD, vinyl, and digital variants in the U.S. In the period before, that number was closer to 6,300. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge's Multi-Chart Life The Black Parade only appears on the Top Album Sales chart, while Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge can be found on a total of five Billboard rankings, in addition to the purchase-only list. My Chemical Romance's title lifts on the Vinyl Albums tally, increasing by one space to No. 6. At the same time, it dips on the Billboard 200, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, and Top Alternative Albums tallies.

The exciting deluxe edition of the set reaches No. 1 on more than half of the rankings on which it appear, while at the same time, it just barely misses out on becoming the group's first champion on one highly competitive tally. Luminate reports that in the past tracking period, the decades-old set sold 37,000 new copies. The week before the deluxe edition was available, it sold just 1,200. So, the collection experienced an almost 3,000% gain in pure purchases from one frame to the next. My Chemical Romance Matches Its Own Career Peak As Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge returns to the Top Album Sales ranking, My Chemical Romance ties its highest placement ever on the list of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs of any style in the United States. The group previously missed out on a No. 1 by just one rung back in November 2006, when The Black Parade debuted at No. 2. The rockers have seen two other collections — Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and May Death Never Stop You — stall at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge Reappears at No. 1 While it misses the throne on the Top Album Sales ranking by one space, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge does reappear on the Vinyl Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Alternative Albums charts at No. 1. My Chemical Romance hits the summit for the first time on the vinyl tally and adds to its growing list of leaders on the other three genre-specific rankings. My Chemical Romance Hits the Billboard 200's Top 10 In the past tracking frame, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge moved a total of 43,600 equivalent units, and more than half of those were actual sales. That figure is enough to bring the emo groundbreaker into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, where My Chemical Romance has now scored four wins and where the title also reaches a new high point.

My Chemical Romance Charts Its First Top 10 Album With A 20-Year-Old Release
My Chemical Romance first made a name for itself in the alternative rock underground with its debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, but it wasn't until the 2004 release of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge that the act became widely known. That full-length is back in the spotlight thanks to a special anniversary re-release — one that helps the group score a significant new win. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge appears on half a dozen charts in the United Kingdom this week. It debuts on three of them, returns to two, and soars on the last ranking. The decades-old set opens at No. 5 on the Official Albums Sales chart, standing out as the fifth bestselling title in the country as it arrives. The project becomes My Chemical Romance's first top 10 on that tally. Throughout the years, My Chemical Romance has only sent three projects to the Official Albums Sales chart. The group came close to reaching the uppermost region in October 2016, when The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts debuted and peaked at No. 11. During the same tracking week, the standard version of The Black Parade also launched. That set would go on to spend four frames on the tally, but only climb as high as No. 83. The same project starts one spot higher on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, as Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge kicks off its time on that format-specific ranking at No. 4. It earns the band a second career top 10 and brings the group to a brand new high point on that format-focused list. Interestingly, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge also brings the group to a new career low on the Official Album Downloads chart, the third and final roster where the set debuts. The title barely manages to become a top 40 bestseller on platforms like iTunes, launching at No. 39. Previously, that distinction was held by May Death Never Stop You, which spent a single turn at No. 32. The re-released effort reenters both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums charts, coming in at Nos. 5 and 9, respectively. Those are new peak positions for the title on those rosters. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge was only found on one of these six tallies just a few days ago, before the impact of its twentieth anniversary reissue could be seen. My Chemical Romance was living at No. 11 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, but now, the early career win rockets to No. 1, earning a third turn on the throne.

The hardcore effort was filled with clever lyrics, dark imagery, and plenty of angst that appealed to a young audience. The group quickly became global superstars thanks to the project, which produced singles like "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena." This week, the set is a major smash in the United Kingdom again, following a special re-release that has turned it into a bestselling title and helped the project climb back to the top. In early June, a deluxe edition of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge was released, and fans picked it up in large numbers. The set included all of the original tunes, remixed versions of them, and several previously unreleased live recordings from the group. That proved to be enough to convince thousands to pick up a copy — though My Chemical Romance's fanbase is so strong that it probably wouldn't have taken much for the title to sell well again.
