Florida Gators 2025 Position Preview: Tight Ends

Florida Gators 2025 Position Preview: Tight Ends originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Billy Napier-run Florida Gators have been known for their usage of the tight end position. Whether it is blocking in the running game or being deep threats and checkdown options in the air attack, Florida's tight ends have been essential since Napier took over as head coach. This will be especially true in the upcoming season. With a loaded running back room, a slew of young, talented receivers, and a budding star at quarterback, the veteran presence of the Gators' tight ends will play a big role in Florida's offense. After losing their backup in the offseason, the Gators' tight end group is comprised of a pair of upperclassmen who promise to be big parts of this year's offense, along with a second-year player with a very high upside. Florida's no-question No. 1 tight end for the 2025 season will be redshirt junior Hayden Hansen. He started all 13 games last year for the Gators and has made 22 starts in 25 appearances in his collegiate career. Hansen has been a threat for the Gators as both a blocker and receiver in his time donning the orange and blue. In 2024, the nearly 6-foot-8 tight end caught 15 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown. He also did not allow a sack in 75 pass blocking snaps. Behind Hansen, Napier had to find someone to be Florida's No. 2 on the depth chart. The Gators lost Arlis Boardingham this offseason, who transferred to Bowling Green. Boardingham was impressive the past two years, totaling 44 receptions for 417 yards and six scores. The tight end who will presumably step into Boardingham's role will be Tony Livingston. Livingston, who is entering his junior season this fall, registered over 200 snaps last year in 10 games. He tallied 11 catches for just over 100 yards and two touchdowns. After Hansen and Livingston, Florida will likely turn to Amir Jackson at No. 3 on the depth chart. Jackson is the highest-rated tight end Napier has signed in his tenure at Florida. Out of Portal High School in Georgia, Jackson was ranked as the fifth-best at his position in the country, according to On3. He played in just four games as a freshman in 2024, earning a redshirt. With the leadership of Hansen and Livingston, and the raw talent of Jackson, the tight end position may turn out to be one of Florida's deepest groups on the roster in 2025. 2025 Fantasy Football Rankings — Justin Boone's Top Tight Ends

Yahoo Sports' Justin Boone won the FantasyPros Most Accurate Expert Award in 2019 and has eight top-10 finishes in the competition. Follow the links below to see his latest redraft rankings at every position. Advertisement Darren Waller, Dolphins - Coming out of retirement rarely works out for NFL players, so Waller is facing an uphill battle towards a return to fantasy prominence. Having his former tight ends coach Frank Smith as his new OC certainly helps, but it will be tough to carve out a significant target share next to Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De'Von Achane. Remember, Waller's biggest years came when he was one of the Raiders' top pass-catchers. He won't be asked to star like that in Miami. I've placed him among the big group of fantasy TE2s who have a path to low-end TE1 production if things break their way. Jonnu Smith/Pat Freiermuth, Steelers - Smith being traded to Pittsburgh is a major hit to the fantasy outlooks for both him and Freiermuth. Prior to this deal, Smith was headed towards another top-10 season and Freiermuth was flirting with back-end TE1 territory in my rankings. Now, they've both fallen into the aforementioned TE2 range with Waller and will be hard to trust in your lineup on a weekly basis. WATCH: Every target for Jacksonville Jaguar's TE Brenton Strange in 2024

Take a look below at every one of the targets that Jacksonville Jaguars' tight end Brenton Strange had during the 2024 season. Strange assumed a much larger role in 2024 compared to his rookie year in 2023. When it was all said and done, Strange was targeted 54 times, catching 40 of those passes for 411 yards with two touchdowns. Advertisement Of note, Strange ranked 17th out of 45 eligible tight ends in yards per route run, an efficiency metric from Pro Football Focus. The Jaguars' organization is extremely bullish on Strange this season, who now sits atop the team's tight end depth chart. That in itself will lead to more opportunities, but within Liam Coen's offense, the tight end is a key part of the passing game. Last season, with Coen calling the plays in Tampa Bay, Bucs' tight end Cade Otton finished the year with 84 targets, which was the ninth-most among all tight ends in the NFL. Along with Strange's ability to impact the game as a pass-catcher, he's also versatile, able to line up across the formation, and he's a capable run-blocker as well. When a tight end can fill a variety of roles, it adds a level of unpredictability to an offense. 49ers star George Kittle dishes on Taylor Swift's surprise Nashville performance

NASHVILLE – Taylor Swift put on quite a show in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce and other NFL tight ends during an appearance in Nashville Tuesday night. The popular singer and songwriter stepped on stage at the Brooklyn Bowl for a good cause to perform before a sold-out crowd at the Tight Ends and Friends benefit concert, part of the Tight End University's (TEU) annual summer training camp. She performed one song after being introduced on stage by Kane Brown, and, according to one person in attendance, the crowd went wild. "She was fantastic. For the venue that, I think, it was maybe 1,000 people, that was the loudest 1,000 people I've ever heard in my entire life," San Francisco 49ers star and TEU co-founder George Kittle told Fox News Digital Wednesday. "It was an incredible experience. I think everybody had a lot of fun just watching that one live." Kittle, who co-founded TEU alongside Kelce and Carolina Panthers legend and FOX NFL broadcaster Greg Olsen, spoke highly of Swift and her willingness to take part in the evening's festivities. "Taylor could not have been kinder, more nice, and she was like, 'I think it might be fun to go sing 'Shake It Off.' And we were like, 'It'd be amazing. Twist my arm, Taylor, please.'" The concert to benefit charities chosen by the event's founder saw huge success last year, and Kittle wanted to make an even bigger splash this year. "We had a blast last year with Jelly Roll and Jon Pardi and Chase Rice. We were like, 'All right, let's try to do it up big again,'" he said. Kittle told Fox News Digital Olsen also convinced country music star Luke Combs to "come and watch." But he said Olsen and his wife, Claire Kittle, managed to leverage a possible appearance by Swift to get Combs on stage. "Me, Greg and my wife kind of bullied Luke into performing, like, 'Oh, come on man. Taylor Swift said she might perform. You're going to not perform?' And so he went out and did a song with Jordan Davis, which was awesome." The charity event raised $800,000 two years ago and $900,000 last year, The Tennessean reported.
