If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission - learn more Krispy Kreme Australia has thrilled foodies with its new collection that promises to bring a taste of la dolce vita to Australian stores. It seems the doughnut chain has been inspired by the thousands of Aussie tourists currently living it up in the Euro summer, and has brought out its 'Passport to Italy' range to transport your taste buds to sunnier climes, even if you are stuck at home or behind a desk this winter. The range includes three tantalising Italian dessert-inspired creations designed to evoke the feeling of a sun-drenched Italian summer: Tiramisu, Cannoli and Limone. The doughnuts come in a $34.95 dozen pack, which works out to just $2.90 per doughnut, or a four-pack for $15.95 ($3.98 per doughnut). Shoppers can buy the doughnuts individually for $4.80 each. Tiramisu features a fluffy shell doughnut generously filled with tiramisu Kreme, topped with sweet Kreme, and finished with a dusting of cocoa. The Cannoli doughnut is an unglazed ring doughnut half-dipped in choc and cannoli crunch, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with a rich dollop of cannoli-style buttercream. For a zestier morsel, Limone Delight is a fluffy shell doughnut filled with lemon delight Kreme, dipped in lemon icing, and topped with candied lemon for a citrus hit. Launching Wednesday, July 30, foodies are already abuzz, and if past limited-edition releases are anything to go by, they should be hot-footing it to their local stockists if they want to grab a box before they sell out. The Passport to Italy box is available in Krispy Kreme stores and online, as well as selected Woolworths, Coles, BP and 7‑Eleven stores. Krispy Kreme has form in sending fans into a sugar-fuelled frenzy with its limited-edition specials. The collaboration was such a runaway success that the chain decided to bring the flavour back for a second run last month after huge demand. In May, fans queued for the return of the Strawberry Glazed Doughnut, brought back a Pac‑Man inspired challenge, only for it to sell out nationwide in just three days. And just weeks ago, the Hungry for Heroes range, featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman doughnuts, went viral when it dropped on 2 July to coincide with the launch of the new Superman movie. The collection will be available until August 18 in Krispy Kreme stores and online, and until August 26 at remaining stockists. So if you're craving a taste of Italy without the airfare - run, don't walk.

It comes after Giovanni, 34, quit the scandal-hit show last summer after nine years on Strictly as he faced allegations over his training methods with previous celebrity partners — including 51-year-old actress Amanda Abbington. Pro dancer Vito saddened fans earlier in the year after pulling out of the Strictly Come Dancing tour after a previous injury flared up again. The Italian dancer was forced to announce his withdrawal from the live tour with an emotional statement after just one show. With the upcoming series around the corner, Sarah James, Executive Producer at BBC Studios revealed news about the upcoming spectacular this autumn. She said in a statement: 'The excitement is already building ahead of the new series and in addition to welcoming back our fantastic returning pros, we are looking forward to welcoming two brand new professional dancers to the line up who will help bring another unforgettable series of dazzling dance and loads more besides to viewers later in 2025.' 6 Vito's new lady can be seen on social media in a selection of stunning pictures Credit: instagram 6 Vito's new love is Italian beauty Valentina who is a digital marketing expert Credit: instagram 6 The pro dancer is coupled up in real life with brunette beauty Valentina Sica Credit: instagram

Italian restaurant chain to shut all but one site in UK as boss admits ‘we simply don't have the clout'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A POPULAR Italian restaurant chain has announced it will be pulling the shutters on another location. The move marks the company's third closure in recent years, leaving just one venue in operation. 3 A popular Italian chain in Manchester announced the closure of one of its remaining two locations Credit: Instagram/@cromapizza Beloved Italian institution Croma revealed it would soon be closing one of its two remaining locations, in Chorlton, Manchester. The Italian-fusion chain opened its first restaurant in 2000 and became famous for its creative dishes, which are made with specialist ingredients. Based around Manchester, Croma's original venue was located on Clarence Street in the city centre. Post-Covid closures This location remained a staple in the area for over two decades before closing its doors in 2022 following the on-going impact of the pandemic. The following year, bosses announced the closure of the Didsbury venue. They cited the end of the location's lease as the main reason for closure. After this, only the Chorlton and Prestwich restaurants remained in operation. And now the team behind the group of restaurants has said it will now also be closing the Chorlton venue later this month. Bosses released a statement sharing their sadness at the closure in south Manchester. They announced that the last day of operation will be on Sunday, July 28. Restaurant loved by celebs and royals has to close after it's infested with rats The location first opened in 2005 and had recently undergone a revamp in 2023. This renovation saw a conservatory extension and an external patio dinning area added to the venue. The restaurant is known for its famous pizza as well as other menu favourites including Tandoori chicken, crab pappardelle, and lasagne. Croma also offers desserts, including in-house gelato and its popular homemade Tiramisu. 'After 20 amazing years, we're sadly saying goodbye," Croma bosses said. Why are retailers closing stores? RETAILERS have been feeling the squeeze since the pandemic, while shoppers are cutting back on spending due to the soaring cost of living crisis. High energy costs and a move to shopping online after the pandemic are also taking a toll, and many high street shops have struggled to keep going. However, additional costs have added further pain to an already struggling sector. The British Retail Consortium has predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs from April will cost the retail sector £2.3billion. At the same time, the minimum wage will rise to £12.21 an hour from April, and the minimum wage for people aged 18-20 will rise to £10 an hour, an increase of £1.40. The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year. It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year. Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: "The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025." It comes after almost 170,000 retail workers lost their jobs in 2024. End-of-year figures compiled by the Centre for Retail Research showed the number of job losses spiked amid the collapse of major chains such as Homebase and Ted Baker. It said its latest analysis showed that a total of 169,395 retail jobs were lost in the 2024 calendar year to date. This was up 49,990 – an increase of 41.9% – compared with 2023. It is the highest annual reading since more than 200,000 jobs were lost in 2020 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced retailers to shut their stores during lockdowns. The centre said 38 major retailers went into administration in 2024, including household names such as Lloyds Pharmacy, Homebase, The Body Shop, Carpetright and Ted Baker. Around a third of all retail job losses in 2024, 33% or 55,914 in total, resulted from administrations. Experts have said small high street shops could face a particularly challenging 2025 because of Budget tax and wage changes. Professor Bamfield has warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector. "By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer's household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020." "Our beloved Chorlton restaurant will be closing its doors at 10pm on Sunday, 28th July 2025. 'Join us one last time and come down to raise a glass and share a slice of fabulous Pizza as we celebrate two decades of incredible memories with our wonderful community. "Let's make these final weeks unforgettable.' Remaining location Bosses also confirmed the Prestwich restaurant, on Longfield Centre, will remain open, serving customers seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The group of restaurants was co-founded by Andrew Bullock and Bob Dunn, after they left the Pizza Express franchise. Andrew spoke to the Manchester Evening News when the closure of the original city centre venue was first announced three years ago. 'As an independent, we simply don't have the clout with landlords, or the balance sheet that large companies have," he said. More restaurant closures Another beloved restaurant chain announced the closure of all its locations after two decades in business. And a Coronation Street star recently confirmed the closure of her restaurant after 13 years. Plus, a complete list of all the Wetherspoons set to close their doors this year. 3 The Croma in Chorlton is set to permanently close on Sunday, July 28 Credit: Instagram/@cromapizza

'Costa's summer menu has showstopper that knocks Dubai chocolate off top spot'
It's summertime – a season when all you want to do is sit in the park and chill with pals. So coffee shops need an appropriately delicious menu to entice customers through their doors. Thankfully, Costa Coffee may have done just that. From cheese bites with a rich tomato dip to a brand new Tiramisu Cookie Sandwich, my interest was definitely piqued. Not to mention the 'elite' viral iced drinks they have on offer. So would they actually taste as good as they look? I was determined to find out. I went to try the new summer menu and there's one major showstopper I'd recommend trying. It may even pip the Dubai chocolate trend to the top spot! Costa describes them as "golden, crumb-coated bites of melted cheese, served with a tangy tomato chutney for a satisfying, savoury snack". The tomato sauce was definitely delicious, and the cheese bites were quite tasty. But if I were going to pop somewhere for cheese bites, if I'm honest, I'd probably be veering towards Maccies. We're all trying to increase our protein intake, so it's good to know you can grab something that will help you do so while you're on the go. Described by Costa as "crispy breaded chicken bites served with a smoky chipotle BBQ dip, delivering big flavour and a protein boost". I was excited to try, as I love a chicken-based snack. And thankfully, they met my expectations. These chicken bites were really tasty! The BBQ sauce was quite nice, but I definitely preferred the tomato sauce from the cheese bites, so ended up using that as a dip for these as well - and it was yummy. Described as "the ultimate treat for dessert lovers," Costa said that this cookie sandwich is a "rich dark chocolate cookie sandwich filled with a tiramisu-inspired, creamy coffee frosting, finished with icing and cocoa powder". This was an absolute showstopper. It might not look like much, and I was slightly underwhelmed when I pulled it out of the packaging. But the second I took a bite, I was left excitedly shouting at my partner for him to come and try it as well. The only thing I would change about this is the cocoa powder, because it made it a little bit messy. But other than that, it was pure perfection, and it knocks spots off Dubai chocolate desserts I've tried. If I were you, I'd definitely be picking one of these up the next time I'm near a Costa, because it's on the menu for a limited time only. "Featuring a sweet, condensed milk-flavoured sauce," I was excited to try this, but truthfully? It couldn't compare to its Tiramisu counterpart. If I were going to get a sweet coffee, I'd rather get the Tiramisu one. To me, this just felt like an unnecessarily sweet normal coffee without the pizazz, but it may be up some people's streets as a commute treat. If you love the way tiramisu tastes and have always wondered what it would be like to drink one, look no further because this is exactly what it would taste like. This is best saved for those with an incredibly sweet tooth, and while a little sickly, it's undeniably delightful. Everything from the texture to the strong coffee flavours was a hit for me. It may not be the most refreshing drink I've ever tried, but honestly, it will cool you down in the sweetest way.

Watch: Italian Dessert Tiramisu Served In Japan With A Matcha Twist Is Viral Now
Desserts hold a special place in the hearts of many food enthusiasts. Amongst them, can you resist a plate of Tiramisu? We certainly can't! The elegant and rich layered Italian dessert, made with delicate ladyfinger cookies dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks, mascarpone cheese, eggs, sugar, and cocoa powder, offers a smooth blend of sweet and slightly bitter flavours. Now, imagine the delectable item being enriched with the goodness of Matcha, a finely ground powder of green tea processed from shade-grown tea leaves. In a video making the rounds on the internet, we can spot a food blogger documenting two delicious varieties of tiramisu found in one of the cosy cafe-restaurants in Nagoya, Japan. As per the content creator, the eatery was 'originally a curry speciality spot, which recently became popular for its desserts—especially the fluffy, round Tiramisu Balls that have taken Instagram by storm.' The clip kicks off with someone pouring a dollop of espresso onto a classic tiramisu, followed by liquid matcha on top of a matcha-flavoured one. The highlight is how the liquid glides off smoothly to the bottom without leaving a trail. Afterwards, as the food vlogger breaks open the fluffy round balls, we get to see the visually pleasing interior layers of the dessert. Indeed, the delectable masterpiece gave us pure hunger pangs. An excerpt from the caption read, 'They come in two flavours: classic and matcha. Though they look like little spheres, they're incredibly soft—your fork will sink right in. The rich mascarpone blends beautifully with bold sauces: espresso adds a pleasant bitterness, while matcha sauce enhances the deep green tea flavour. A playful twist on the traditional tiramisu texture, this dessert is a must-try in Nagoya!' The note further disclosed the price of the delectable item - Tiramisu Ball is available at 650 yen (approximately Rs. 386). View this post on Instagram A post shared by 포토그래퍼의 【공간 탐닉】 (@space_tamnik) The dessert video has already wowed social media users, garnering over 56.9 million views online. One foodie said, 'That's so amazing' Another person mentioned, 'Savouring the symphony of flavours in this exquisite dessert. Someone compared the thickness of the tiramisu with waterproof makeup and added, 'It's like makeup that's too thick until it becomes waterproof.' 'The matcha one is tempting,' read a comment. Echoing the same opinion, another food enthusiast said, 'Matcha looks tooooo good to me.' A person wondered, 'Why do asian desserts always look like they would choke me,' while another one called it 'Delicious.'
