Kelly Clarkson Just Cut Her Hair Into a Short Swishy Bob

NBC/Getty Images Kelly Clarkson has officially joined the bob club. The singer and host of her eponymous talk show showed off her new haircut in a clip shared by The Voice on Instagram July 22. In the clip, she, alongside longtime coaches Adam Levine and John Legend, share that they will be returning for season 29 of the show, which will premiere in spring 2026. Fans welcomed Clarkson back with open arms, with many sharing in the comments how thrilled they are that she's making her return. But despite the big news that she'd be back for another season, we couldn't help but notice her much-shorter haircut in this new clip. Though Clarkson has favored longer locks in recent years, it looks like she decided to take the plunge and embrace the bob. We get a quick glimpse at the hair transformation, but from the looks of it, she's opted for a side swept shoulder-length classic bob with some texture and waves throughout. She traded in her long, elbow-length blonde tresses and bangs for this much shorter, nearly bronde bob. And Clarkson isn't the only talk show host to lean into the bob recently. On her show, Today with Jenna & Friends, Jenna Bush Hager got a bob haircut live on TV, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan (he also cut Leslie Bibb's now-famous 'c-nty little bob' for her role on The White Lotus). While McMillan cut her hair, Hager exclaimed, 'that's so short!' and honestly, she's not wrong. Bob haircuts are short styles, usually with the hair falling somewhere between the ear and the chin. There are tons of bobs to choose from, depending on how much length or texture you're looking for. For example, French bobs tend to be on the shorter side with a little bit of texture, while a classic bob is usually cut right at the nape of the neck and blunt. If you're more comfortable with a slightly longer bob, the shoulder-length lob is cut between your chin and collarbone. 'Bobs vary in length and can be longer depending on the desired look,' says hairstylist Laurabeth Cabott. 'Deciding whether you want a more chic style or something that you're able to play around with and style differently from day to day can help you determine what length to cut your bob.' 42 Bob Haircut Ideas to Try in 2025 The good news is that a bob will complement anyone. 'A classic bob haircut, where the length falls between the chin and shoulders, can look great on any face shape,' says celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Korab. 'A bob can be customized with different lengths and textures to suit your individual style.' With her duties as a coach for The Voice and a daytime talk show host, Kelly Clarkson is also currently in Las Vegas for a residency until late 2025. We can't wait to get another look at the singer's new bob during her next show. Catharine Malzahn is the contributing associate beauty editor at Glamour. Alexandra Daddario Is the Latest Celeb to Co-Sign the French Bob Trend

Gilbert Carrasquillo All summer long, we've been seeing celebs flock to the hottest haircut of the year, the bob. And as of July 13, we can add Alexandra Daddario to the list. The White Lotus actor took to Instagram to show off her new look, which is none other than the effortlessly chic French bob. Daddario shared photos of her haircut, plus a time-lapse video of her hairstylist creating the look from start to finish. 'Needed a change!!' she wrote in her Instagram caption before thanking her stylist, who she tagged as @hairbender212. It is indeed a dramatic transformation from her longer mid-length hair she's been wearing lately, with this cut taking off about several inches. And the haircut isn't the only change Daddario has made. In a 'before' photo, you can see some grays peeping out along her roots, and in an 'after' photo, those have been all covered up with dark brown hair dye her stylist applied all over her scalp and strands. (BRB, adding her rich brunette color to our personal list of brown hair ideas ASAP.) Her French bob makes perfect sense for a summer haircut. In the midst of peak heat and humidity this season, being able to keep cool without long hair is ideal, and you don't have to worry about keeping your strands out of your face or off your neck and back. Plus, the short haircut couldn't be more on trend. Daddario joins the ranks of celebrities like Sofia Richie Grainge, Lily Collins, and Jenna Bush Hager, who have also all leaned into the bob. Hager actually got her bob cut on live TV while cohosting her show Today with Jenna & Friends alongside another The White Lotus actor Leslie Bibb. Bibb's now-famous 'c-nty little bob' took the world by storm on season three of the popular show. Though Bibb's cut is much shorter than the French bob Daddario is wearing, we love to see fellow The White Lotus actors both leaning into the trend. The French bob is a little different than others. 'A French bob is typically shorter than your typical chin-length bob we've been seeing a lot of lately,' says celebrity hairstylist Alex Brown. 'It has a bit of a 'wedge' look to it, and is so chic and stylish.' According to celeb hairstylist Peter Butler, the French bob originated in the '20s jazz age, so it has a short, crisp, dramatic flapper look, which is exactly like Alexandra Daddario's blunt, crisp cut. 'It has to be cut so that it hits your jaw line,' he says. 'Traditionally, it can also go shorter and hit your lip line. Both lengths look amazing and fresh.' Dwyane Wade says Gabrielle Union can't stand being called ‘Gabby'—prefers the family nickname ‘Nickie'

Dwyane Wade opened up about his marriage (Image via Instagram / @dwyanewade) Recently, NBA legend Dwyane Wade revealed a humorous fact about his marriage to actress Gabrielle Union . He disclosed that although the couple frequently expresses their affection for one another on social media, there is one thing that doesn't always make his wife happy: a nickname he enjoys using. He talked about the same while co-hosting Jenna & Friends on Wednesday. He also shared more insight into his relationship with his wife. Dwyane Wade says introducing Gabrielle Union to his kids was the biggest step in their relationship According to Dwyane Wade, his wife, Gabrielle Union , is fiercely against one popular nickname he gave her. He talked about important turning points in his relationship with the actress when he appeared on the July 9 broadcast of Today with Jenna & Friends. During the same, the topic of nicknames came up. Then, talking about their first big step, he said: 'Me and Gabby's first big step?... Oh, I called her 'Gabby,' she would not like that. Me and Gab's first big step.' Jenna Bush Hager, co-host, then asked: 'Oh you don't call her Gabby?' Then, before he burst up laughing, the NBA icon stated: 'No, no, no, no… It's a long story.' While discussing their "first big step" together, which includes the actress seeing Dwyane Wade's kids, the basketball player revealed to the audience a nickname he is allowed to use for his wife. He clarified that Gabby's middle name, Monique, is the source of the nickname: 'The kids, if you saw the sign that we put up when I proposed to her, it said 'Nickie,' and so I kind of introduced her as Nickie.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esta nueva alarma con cámara es casi regalada en Carrodilla La Puntilla (ver precio) Verisure Más información Undo He continued: 'Okay, her family calls her this and not Gabrielle Union, the actress, that they probably have some previous conversations in that year about her. And so we just tried to go in with that family aspect.' The NBA player also revealed that the most significant action he performed in their relationship was introducing his wife to his kids. Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union (Image via Instagram / @dwyanewade) He further discussed his custody dispute with Siohvaughn Funches, his ex-wife, and said: 'My kids are so a part of my life and I went through a very public custody battle with my kids as well.. And so they kind of just came with me. It was kind of like, 'Alright, stepmom.' She didn't sign up to be a stepmom when we started dating so it was a little rough early on.' Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have been married since 2014 and often talk about their relationship in interviews and online. They support each other's careers and work together on raising their children. Even if the actress doesn't like being called 'Gabby,' it's clear she and her husband know how to laugh together, and that's a big part of what makes their love strong. Former NBA star Dwyane Wade opens up about wife Gabrielle Union's early days as stepmom: ‘She didn't sign up...'

When Gabrielle Union entered Dwyane Wade's life, she didn't just gain a partner: she inherited a family. In a recent appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, the NBA legend opened up about the early yet difficult stages of blending his children with the American actress. He also shared an amusing but revealing detail about what he's not allowed to call her—even after 10 years of marriage. 'Alright, stepmom': A rough beginning with real stakes Wade called introducing Union to his children "the biggest step" in their relationship. The challenge was immediate: "She didn't sign up to be a stepmom when we started dating," he admitted. At the time, Wade had full custody of his two older children, Zaire and Zaya, and had assumed guardianship of his nephew, Dahveon. Gabrielle found herself helping raise three young kids without warning. Union has said she struggled to define her role. "They have a mom, she's alive. I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing," she confessed on HelloBeautiful's February digital cover, per People. Her goal became consistency, not replacing their mother. The early stages, especially with Zaya, were "rough," according to Wade. But over time, something deeper formed. Zaya, now 18, described Union's support as pivotal to her self-confidence. She stated that "My stepmom has just instilled such a confidence in my femininity," and that Union gave her space to be herself. 'Not Gabby': Nicknames that work and the ones that don't While the couple's public affection is evident, Wade made it clear there's one name he would never use for his wife. 'I called her 'Gabby,' she would not like that,' he told Jenna Bush Hager, laughing. 'It's a long story.' Instead, Wade and their kids call her 'Nickie,' a nickname drawn from her middle name, Monique. While the actress may not like certain labels, one thing is sure—she's earned her place in the former NBA All-Star's home.
