London-based Hived delivery start-up raises millions to grow all-electric network

It's being hailed as the future of parcel delivery. Hived, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered start-up, has raised €35.6 million (£30.7 million) in a new Series B round to accelerate its UK rollout, claiming to be 'innovating logistics for the e-commerce era'. Reportedly the UK's 'first customer-centric, tech-enabled, and all-electric parcel delivery company designed for e-commerce', it claims its real-time tracking and delivery intelligence system has cut 'Where Is My Order' (WISMO) customer enquiries by more than 90%, compared to other carriers, reported EU Startups. It also says its claims-rate (lost-in-transit, damages etc) is more than 10x better than industry standards. Since launching in 2021, it says it has delivered over 6.5 million parcels across Greater London for clients such as John Lewis, Uniqlo and Zara, 'with a 99% on-time delivery' The funding will be used to accelerate driver hiring, fuel expansion expansion into several new UK cities, further develop its proprietary models, grow its engineering and data team, and scale development of its proprietary logistics intelligence platform, HivedMind. Murvah Iqbal, co-founder and CEO of Hived, said: 'Parcel delivery should feel seamless, not stressful, but most of the industry is still running on systems that were never designed for e-commerce. 'We've taken a fresh approach – rethinking everything from first principles, putting technology and experience at the centre, and proving there's a better way to do this at scale. This raise is a huge step forward. With €49.2 million raised from investors so far, the latest round was led by existing backer NordicNinja, plus Wex Venture Capital, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Elemental Impact, Yamato Holdings, Future Back Ventures by Bain and Co, Rocketship VC and existing investors including Planet A also participated. Tomosaku Sohara, managing partner at NordicNinja, added: 'Hived is doing what no one else in logistics has managed to do – pair a truly outstanding consumer experience with deep operational control. They haven't just improved delivery, they've reimagined it from the ground up, with technology as the foundation, not an afterthought. This means their technology isn't just modern, it's built to scale.'
