Internet goes wild as TikTok's Bugatti trend turns into a compilation of crashes and outshining the flexes
TikTok has once again summoned a chaotic throwback trend from the depths of 2023, and it is as ridiculous and dramatic as ever. Dubbed the 'Bugatti Challenge', this viral sensation features people sitting on the floor and pretending to "drive" an invisible luxury car. Just as Ace Hood's 2013 banger 'Bugatti' drops the iconic line 'I woke up in a new Bugatti,' someone yanks their legs from off-screen, sending them sliding out of the frame like a soap bar on tiles. And while a few attempts go smoothly (pun intended), the real gold lies in the fails. What is the viral 'Bugatti challenge' and why is it suddenly everywhere? One of the most-viewed Bugatti fails stars Tiffani Chance from Little Women: Dallas and her partner Austin Skovran. In the now-viral video, Chance wears a helmet (already iconic behaviour) and zooms out of frame flawlessly. But when it is Skovran's turn? Total chaos. Tiffani tries to drag him but ends up collapsing, with Austin sarcastically claiming he knew it was not going to work. Over 23 million people have witnessed this duo crash the metaphorical Bugatti. But wait, it gets wilder. Bugatti trend is fails spectacularly every time TikTok legend Ross Smith took the challenge up a notch by yanking none other than his internet-famous Granny Smith. Except this time, the end result was straight-up horror comedy. Through editing or props, it looked like Granny's legs got completely detached. One commenter declared the trend officially over because no one could top that madness. (Fair enough.) As if confused toddlers and acrobatic aunties were not enough, TikTok creators have now roped in their pets. Cats, dogs, you name it, getting dragged across floors for the sake of clout. While some seem confused, others fully commit to the absurd drama, making these pet performances unintentionally the funniest part of the trend. Wait... why a Bugatti again? Let's get one thing clear: no one involved in this trend is actually waking up in a million-dollar supercar. Bugatti is a French luxury car brand, and its 2026 Tourbillon model is expected to cost a jaw-dropping $4.6 million. So yes, sliding across laminate floors while blasting Ace Hood is probably the closest most of us will get to one. How did it all start? The trend's origin remains fuzzy, but an early TikTok posted in March 2023 featured a toddler getting hilariously yanked during the song's chorus, earning over 16 million views and sparking copycat chaos ever since. So next time you hear 'I woke up in a new Bugatti,' prepare for someone, or something, to go flying out of frame.

Trump fortune could get nearly $100M boost as restriction to sell his meme coins are lifted: report
President Trump's push into crypto is proving to be very lucrative. A so-called 'unlock' of Trump meme coins is expected to add nearly $100 million to the president's fortune, according to a report. Starting Thursday, entities tied to the president will be able to sell 90 million of the $Trump tokens – worth nearly $930 million at Wednesday's price of $10.30, according to crypto research site Messari. Advertisement 3 A so-called 'unlock' of Trump meme coins this week is expected to add nearly $100 million to the president's fortune. NurPhoto via Getty Images Trump's share of the coins will add $93 million to his $6.4 billion fortune, according to Bloomberg. His net worth has not previously included the locked coins' value. He also has made about $150 million from trading of the meme coin through mid-June, according to an analysis by crypto-risk modeling firm Gauntlet. The unlock will increase the coin's circulating supply by 45%, after its initial launch in January made 200 million coins available, Bloomberg reported. Advertisement The total amount outstanding will reach 1 billion in less than three years. Of those, 800 million were originally locked and held by Trump-linked entities. A larger supply, however, could sink the meme coin's price. Like all meme coins, the $TRUMP token has no intrinsic value. It's based on an image of Trump and tied largely to his popularity – making it vulnerable to sharp swings. Advertisement Its price soared more than 10% last week after Justin Sun, founder of the Tron blockchain and cryptocurrency, vowed to buy $100 million worth of the coin in a post on X. Sun is already the meme coin's top holder. 3 President Trump speaks during a White House luncheon on Monday. The suit charging Sun with fraud and market manipulation was dropped in February. 3 Donald Trump Jr. speaks during The Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas in May. The $TRUMP token's website does not state how the coins are split between the LLCs. Following this week's unlock, 510 million tokens will be made available over the next two years. An additional 200 million coins will start to become available in January. Cryptocurrency has emerged as a huge moneymaker for the Trump family, adding $620 million to their wealth since Trump won the election in November. Advertisement A White House spokesperson said that Trump's assets are being held in a trust managed by his children while he serves his second term, and maintains that none of his business ventures present a conflict of interest. Trump's sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, who run the family's Trump Organization, are shareholders in crypto miner American Bitcoin, which will be acquired by Gryphon Digital Mining. The new company could be worth more than $4.5 billion, according to Bloomberg.

Bugatti Boss on Turbocharged Hybrid Supercars: 'I Don't Get It'
While the Chiron was essentially an evolution of the Veyron before it, the Tourbillon represents a radical departure. Molsheim's all-new performance flagship ditches the quad-turbo W-16 engine in favor of a V-16 without forced induction. Cosworth helped develop the naturally aspirated powerhouse, which features an 8.3-liter displacement and an impressively low curb weight. It tips the scales at just 556 pounds, or about 42 percent less than the Chiron's heart. Bugatti and Cosworth engineers achieved the significant weight reduction partly by eliminating the four turbochargers. Mate Rimac told Top Gear magazine he doesn't see the point of using turbos in a hybrid supercar, arguing that the hybrid component compensates for the loss in power while providing the benefits of electrification. In the Tourbillon, there's a large battery with a gross capacity of 24.8 kilowatt-hours, good for 43 miles (70 kilometers) of range without firing up the V-16. Photo by: Bugatti 'I have driven them all and I don't get it, really. Why would you have a hybrid powertrain with a turbo engine? Like, a turbo engine is a compromise on its own, right?' Bugatti Rimac's head honcho revealed that deleting the quad-turbo setup resulted in a 600-horsepower loss. However, the three electric motors compensate, and then some, delivering a combined 800 hp. Factoring in the combustion engine, which produces 1,000 hp on its own, the Tourbillon is more potent than its predecessors and ends up lighter. Aside from dropping the turbos, the weight savings also come from a new suspension that's 45% lighter, thanks to 3D printing. The whole car weighs less than 4,398 pounds (1,995 kilograms) with all fluids and a nearly full tank of gas. While most hybrid supercars are turbocharged, the Lamborghini Revuelto sticks to a naturally aspirated V-12. The LaFerrari also featured a naturally aspirated, electrified twelve-cylinder engine, but the new F80 uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6. While Porsche hasn't released a follow-up to the 918 Spyder and its naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V-8, the Mission X concept strongly hinted at a purely electric setup. Mate Rimac isn't closing the door on a pure ICE version of the V-16. He's also open to the idea of a downsized hybrid configuration, even a single-motor Tourbillon that skips the pair of front motors to reduce fat further. A roadster is all but confirmed, so there are big plans beyond the 250 coupes planned for production. Meanwhile, deliveries of the 'normal' car will begin next year but not before producing 35 prototypes for testing purposes. Currently, Bugatti is hard at work delivering the remaining Bolide and Mistral units as the last examples of the W-16 breed .
