EU Trade Chief to Contact U.S. Officials After 30% Tariff Threat
The European Union's top trade negotiator said he will speak to his U.S. counterparts again after President Trump threatened to slap a 30% tariff on goods from the bloc over the weekend. 'I intend to speak with my U.S. counterparts again later today, as I cannot imagine walking away without genuine effort,' Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said on Monday.

The EU's trade chief said Wednesday that talks with the United States were "advancing in the right direction at pace" -- with one month to go until 50-percent U.S. tariffs on European goods take effect.
