Teen killed, two injured in early morning highway crash
KULAI: A 16-year-old boy was killed and two others injured in an accident involving four vehicles on the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Km46.2 northbound, early yesterday morning. The accident occurred at 1.56am and involved a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and three motorcycles, police said. Kulai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee said the teenager, believed to have been riding at high speed, crashed into the rear of the SUV, causing him to lose control and fall onto the road. He sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang. Two of his friends, aged 17 and 19, also fell during the incident. One suffered a broken leg and arm, while the other sustained minor injuries and was treated as an outpatient. Tan said the trio were not involved in illegal street racing, but had been riding at high speeds. He also said only the deceased did not possess a valid motorcycle licence. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. One killed in Sunday morning hit-and-run crash, Fort Worth police say
One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday morning in Fort Worth, police said. Officers responded around 4 a.m. to a major accident on Texas 121 and Beach Street. Investigators believe that an SUV was struck by an unknown vehicle, causing a sedan to then collide with the SUV, police said. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The vehicle that is believed to have initially caused the accident was not at scene when officers arrive and has not been found, police said. The Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the crash. 2 hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Fort Worth; police searching for suspect
Two people are in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Fort Worth, police said. The Fort Worth Police Department said at about 1:35 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the intersection of Wichita Street and Knox Street after two people were reported lying in the road. When officers arrived, they found that two victims had been struck by a vehicle, which had fled before officers got there. Police said it's believed that one of the victims was attempting to remove the other from the roadway when they were both struck. Both victims, whose names have not been released, were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Fort Worth Traffic Investigation Unit, as officers continue to search for the suspect.
