Two arrested after gardaí seize drugs worth over €715,000 in Dublin
Two people have been arrested after gardaí seized drugs worth over €715,000 in Dublin on Wednesday.
While on routine patrol in the Rathcoole/City west areas of Dublin, gardaí stopped a vehicle at around 3.45am.
The driver of the vehicle, a man aged in his 20s, was searched along with the vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977.
During the course of the search, gardaí seized cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €10,000.
The man was arrested and held at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí carried out further searches at three residential properties, and during the course of these searches, cannabis herb, cocaine, and crack cocaine were seized along with other drug-related paraphernalia.
The estimated street value of drugs seized was €705,000.
A woman, aged in her 20s, was also arrested during the course of one search.
She was held at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The seized drugs, with a total estimated street value of €715,000, have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
The man has been charged and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Thursday morning.
The woman has since been released without charge, and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
