BSL adopts energy efficiency drive
Bokaro: In a move towards energy efficiency, Bokaro Steel Township on Wednesday began replacement of 10,000 conventional ceiling fans with energy-saving BLDC fans. The initiative, led by the TE-electrical department, was inaugurated at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) in the presence of senior BSL officials.
The project began at BGH and will gradually expand to the Town and Administration building, Trainees Hostel, and other public buildings. "BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) fans consume 50–60% less electricity than conventional fans, significantly reducing energy use and CO₂ emissions. The initiative supports the township's goal of lowering its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices, marking a vital step toward environmental conservation and responsible energy management," said Rajul Halkarni, general manager, BSL electricity department.
