Gangland cops arrest teen over "firebombing" at home of Mark Richardson's pal
An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with incident as well as two other wilful fire-raisings in Edinburgh on April 17. A teenager has been arrested after the plush family home of Mark Richardson's pal was allegedly firebombed while children slept inside. Police launched a probe into the incident after the home of David McMillan on Pitcairn Grove caught fire on Thursday, April 17. The blaze took place on the six year anniversary of the assassination of Trainspotting T2 star Bradley Welsh who was best pals with McMillan. Police have confirmed that a 18-year-old Yusef Duale, from Liverpool, has now been arrested in connection the incident, as well as with two other wilful fire-raisings that took place on the same night at Prestonfield Crescent and Niddrie Marischal Crescent in the capital. He is faced three charges of attempted murder and willful fire-raising with danger to life on appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where he made no plea. It's the 50th arrest in connection with Police Scotland's Operation Portaledge - the investigation into violent incidents in the East and West of the country. David McMillan has been targeted multiple times in the recent gangland turf wars midst a feud between kingpin Richardson, who is serving a jail sentence, and Dubai-based Mr Big Ross McGill. McGill, who was ripped off by the hood in a £500k drug deal, has since gone after a number of his associates. On May 8, a white SUV was torched McMillan's driveway after his family returned home from a shopping trip. Hooded yobs were shown throwing accelerant over the vehicle before it went up in flames. Harrowing images in the aftermath showed a charred baby seat in the back of the burnt out vehicle. Just days later, on May 22, McMillan, 54, was allegedly attacked with machetes outside his house. Arran Reid, 26, and Joshua Stewart, 20, were charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident when they appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 17. Reid was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, attempted murder, reset, possession of blade, attempt to defeat ends of justice, possession of firearm and ammunition. Stewart was charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, attempted murder, reset and attempt to defeat the ends of justice. The two other firebombings that took place on April 17 also targeted Richardson's associates. Images from the time also showed a property at Prestonfield Crescent was also torched. Cops were alerted to fire damage at a property in Niddrie Marischal Crescent in the city. It was the second time the property had been targeted after being shot at on March 20. The property is linked to Richardson associate Paddy Beatson. A transit van was also blown up outside the same home in the early hours of June 9. It came after Beatson taunted henchmen working for Ross McGill. The 38-year-old mocked McGill's enforcers - a faceless gang called Tamo Junto (TMJ) - in an online post as he urged them to "come and get him". Images taken in the aftermath showed the burnt out shell of the vehicle.

Edinburgh home on mob boss Mark Richardson's street attacked as 'gang war' continues
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A house on the same street as gangland boss Mark Richardson's family home has been targeted. This comes after Dubai-based Mr Big was 'desperate for a kill', claimed underworld sources. The property on Cumnor Crescent was targeted on Saturday night, reports the Daily Record. It's understood that a female relative of Richardson still lives on the street. The extent of the damage is not currently known. Police confirmed that a 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident. The man has also been charged over a separate attack at another address on Campion Road in the city that took place on the same evening. On Monday, thugs were filmed kicking in the door of the property on the day that Mr Big 'rejected a truce offer' with his enemies. A clip, shared by a group called Tamo Junto, who claim to be Mr Big's enforcers, showed masked thugs smashing windows of the property at around 6pm. No one is believed to have been injured in the incident. Richardson, 38, is currently in HMP Low Moss. He is understood to have sparked the dramatic turf war currently sweeping Scotland after his cronies stole £500k of cocaine from Mr Big in March after handing over fake notes. A number of homes, businesses and cars linked to the hood were firebombed in the wake of the betrayal as the violent feud erupted. Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox Mr Big listed Richardson at the top of a high-profile hit-list last month as he offered footsoldiers £100k bounties for the heads of his targets. The list also included some of the most feared crime clan members in the country, including Glasgow gangster Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel. A source said at the time: "Mr Big is desperate to kill someone from the Richardson and Daniel mobs and is livid that it hasn't happened yet. "The firebombing campaign was just a way to hurt them financially - but he wants blood now." Tamo Junto have since claimed credit for a string of attacks on Richardson's associates, most recently targeting the plush Edinburgh home of his close pal David McMillan snr for the second time in three weeks. On April 17, 54-year-old McMillan's property on Pitcairn Grove, which had children sleeping inside, was attacked by two masked thugs who set the front door on fire before fleeing. The attack happened on the six-year anniversary of the assassination of Trainspotting T2 star Bradley Welsh, who was also pals with McMillan. On May 8, hooded yobs wearing face coverings torched a luxury white Land Rover Defender in the driveway of the property after his family returned from a shopping trip. An image taken in the aftermath of the blaze showed a charred baby seat in the back of the burnt-out car. The home of Richardson's younger brother Dale was also attacked on May 6, Images show blue tarpaulin covering a window after officers attended the 35-year-old's property in Bellenden Gardens at around 8.50am. Bonzo Daniel and his men have tried to negotiate a peace deal with Mr Big after he and his family became key targets. An underworld source revealed his offer was laughed off. A factory unit in Bishopbriggs linked to Daniels' henchman Craig 'Rob Roy' Gallagher was firebombed on April 8. A 72-year-old woman and 12-year-old woman were rushed to hospital after balaclava wearing thugs kicked in a door in Milton looking for a senior member of the Daniel family on April 12. Issuing a statement on the attack at Richardson's home, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with damage to properties in Edinburgh. "The incidents happened at properties in the Cumnor Crescent and Campion Road and areas of the city during the evening of Saturday, 10 May, 2025. He has been charged and is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, 15 May, 2025." A total of 33 arrests have now been made by Police Scotland.

Footage shows moment Land Rover torched at Edinburgh home of mob boss friend
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Footage shows the moment a car was 'firebombed' in an Edinburgh driveway belonging to a friend of gangster Mark Richardson. The white Land Rover Defender was burnt out at the plush home of David McMillan on Thursday evening, after the family 'returned from a shopping trip'. A few weeks earlier, the property was targeted while 'kids slept inside'. Now, video clips obtained by the Daily Record show the latest attack on the McMillan family. Two shadowy figures can be seen flinging a petrol bomb at the car on his driveway. A terrifying explosion occurs under the front bonnet and fire is seen rising from the vehicle. Another clip shows a man wearing a black balaclava and black jacket running from the scene as the motor bursts into flames. While a later video shows the fire service turning up to tackle the blaze as the car is well ablaze. One of the videos was released by the so-called "Tamo Junto" group, which has claimed responsibility for a wave of gangland attacks that have shocked Scotland. The firebombings and shootings are said to be co-ordinated by a Scottish Mr Big in Dubai - who is seeking to "wipe out" the allied Daniel and Richardson clans. A source said: "The McMillan family including grandkids were at the house when the car was set on fire. You can see the guy who torched the car running away." Images from the scene show the melted luxury motor in the driveway. It is understood that the thugs responsible made off in a car similar to a Volkswagen Passat. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.45pm on Thursday, 8 May, 2025, we were called to a report of a vehicle fire on Pitcairn Grove in Edinburgh. "Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries. The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing." Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox The McMillan family's £1.2million home in plush Craiglockhart, Edinburgh, was also targeted on April 17. The detached house - which had children sleeping inside - was targeted by two masked thugs who set the front door on fire before fleeing. The attack happened on the six year anniversary of the assassination of Trainspotting T2 star Bradley Welsh who was pals with McMillan, 54. A source said after the house attack: "There were kids inside the house so McMillan is absolutely raging. "Kids and women are usually kept out of disputes but these guys are absolutely ruthless. Choosing to target McMillan on Welsh's death anniversary is no coincidence." (Image: Supplied/Daily Record) An underworld source explained that Mr Big has turned his attention to Edinburgh again after his enforcers in Glasgow had to lie low due to 'heat' from the police. He added: "Mr Big's enforcers in Glasgow were feeling a lot of heat in Glasgow from the cops so have taken a back step for the time being. "It was the same in Edinburgh a few weeks ago but there's less police on the streets now so the boys over there are active again. The Daniel family shouldn't get too comfortable because he isn't through with them." Bradley Welsh's killer, Sean Orman, was also found guilty of the attempted murder of McMillan in a separate machete attack in 2019. David McMillan's son, also named David, told Welsh's murder trial how three masked men burst into his Edinburgh home and one began "hacking" at his father with a blade. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages. McMillan snr spent five days in hospital after suffering a fractured skull, a small bleed on the brain, and a double fracture to the arm which needed a metal plate inserted. The younger David told the High Court in Edinburgh at the time about how he fought off a machete-wielding thug using a replica prop from The Walking Dead TV show. On the witness stand, he said he'd been upstairs at the family home in the city's Morningside with his girlfriend when he heard "screaming from my mum" and "got the impression that someone was in the house who should not have been in the house". He described grabbing the "lightweight" prop from the hit series about zombies, which looked like a wooden staff wrapped in barbed wire, but was actually hollow and made only of plastic. After going downstairs with the plastic bat, David jnr said he saw "a man standing over my dad in the kitchen hacking at him with a large sword". He added: "My mum was standing there screaming. My dad was on the floor." David said he'd hit the man attacking his dad over the head and the assailant "stumbled back out the kitchen door" and fell over. The three men were wearing black tracksuits and woollen balaclavas with holes for eyes which looked like they came from a "robbery movie", he said. At least one of the other men had a machete, he said, and both looked "a little sheepish" during the actual attack. After closing the kitchen door, David said one of the other men did try to "wrestle" it back open after he closed it and the trio then fled. A 999 call made by David, who had suffered a hand injury, was played to the court where he said to the operator: "We don't want police. We just need an ambulance."
