Engineering work closes line affecting rail services in York this weekend
A MAIN rail route out of York is closed this weekend.
Engineering work is affecting train operating services between Leeds and York via Garforth this weekend (June 21 and June 22).
As reported by The Press, Network Rail said five weekends of planned works are taking place as part of the TransPennine Route upgrade.

Train operators CrossCountry, LNER, Northern, and TransPennine Express are reported by National Rail to be affected by this weekend's closure.

A National Rail spokesperson said no trains will run between Leeds and York via Garforth and some trains between Leeds and York will be diverted to run via Castleford, which will lead to extended journey times.
Rail replacement buses will be available from Leeds to York and Leeds to Selby, the spokesperson said.
