Foundation stones laid for multiple development projects including road expansion works in Husnabad
Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has said that the Husnabad constituency is witnessing comprehensive development with a focus on education, health, road infrastructure and other key sectors under the current Congress government while he was addressing a public meeting in the Husnabad town of Siddipet district on Friday. He along with the Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy participated in a slew of development programmes held in the constituency earlier in the day. The ministers inaugurated 50-bed Matha Sishu Arogya Kendram built at an estimated cost of Rs 11.50 crore, laid the foundation stone for a 150-bed government hospital building at a cost of Rs 82 crore and four-laning of the Kothapalli-Husnabad main road with an outlay of Rs 77.20 crore in separate programmes held in the town. Mr. Prabhakar said that classes in the newly sanctioned Satavahana University Engineering College in Husnabad will commence from this year. The Gouravelli project works are progressing at a brisk pace, he added, taking a dig at the previous BRS government for allegedly neglecting the Husnabad constituency in its 10-year rule. Mr. Venkat said the road infrastructure in the constituency is poised for major upgradation, 'The four-laning works of Sundaragiri-Kothapalli will be taken up with an outlay of Rs 80 crore soon.' Mr. Raja Narasimha said that they have laid a special focus on strengthening medical and nursing education as well as improving the infrastructure in government hospitals and public health delivery systems. As many as 16 nursing colleges have been set up with an intake of 950 seats under the current Congress government, he said, adding that the bed strength in the Husnabad government hospital is poised to increase to 250.

Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra to be held in Karimnagar on July 5; poster released
The fourth annual Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra will be held under the aegis of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Karimnagar on July 5. Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday released the wall poster of the upcoming mega spiritual event, a press release said. ISKCON Karimnagar unit president Narahari Das, the Ratha Yatra-2025 committee president Kanna Krishna, members Dr. L. Rajabhaskar Reddy, Tummala Ramesh Reddy, Burra Madhusudhan Reddy and others were present. Construction of ISKCON temple is under way near the Police Training College (PTC) in Karimnagar.

Minister instructs officials to conduct joint inspection of school buildings in current rainy season
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, who is the in-charge Minister of the erstwhile Karimnagar district, asked officials to immediately identify dilapidated school buildings and shift the students to nearby buildings. Mr. Rao presided over a review meeting with the officials of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla districts at the Collectorate in Karimnagar on Sunday. He reviewed the functioning of School Education, Agriculture and Housing departments. Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, among others attended the meeting. Metpally MLA K. Sanjay apprised the district in-charge Minister of the dilapidated condition of the State-run high school building in Metpally and sought speedy completion of the government junior college building on the same premises to shift them into the new building. The Minister instructed the officials of the School Education, Panchayat Raj and Roads & Buildings departments to jointly inspect the condition of government school buildings to take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of students in the current rainy season. He asked Collectors to focus on students' enrolment drive in government schools, achieve the stipulated targets of oil palm cultivation and effective implementation of the Indiramma Illu, the flagship housing of the State government, in a transparent manner. Mr. Sridhar Babu said the State government accorded top priority to education, health and agriculture sectors. He called upon the officials to strive to ensure the benefits of the welfare schemes, including Indiramma housing, reach all the deserving people. He wanted the officials to encourage farmers to grow suitable alternative crops, including vegetables, so as to double their income. He directed the officials to take stringent action against those selling spurious seed. Mr. Prabhakar asked the officials to focus on improving students' enrolment and enhancing learning outcomes in government schools. Highlighting the initiatives of the Congress government such as recruiting teachers and conducting training programmes for teachers of State-run schools, he emphasised the need for increased community engagement in Badi Bata enrolment campaign to make all stakeholders active partners in the endeavour. He added that the government has started disbursing ₹9,000 crore to farmers under the Rythu Bharosa, the investment support scheme, across the State within nine days in a mission mode.

TS Inter Supply Result 2025: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education is set to declare the TS Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examination (IPASE) result 2025 today, June 16, as per the scheduled time. The TS IPASE first and second year supplementary marks memos will be published on the official website on Monday, June 16. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar declared the TS Intermediate Public Exams (IPE) results on April 22. A total of 9,97,012 students appeared in the TS inter first and second year exam. The TS inter first year general pass percentage was recorded to be 66.89 percent while that of second year stood around 71.37 percent.

Desiltation of SRSP, Kadem and other projects will be taken up to restore original storage capacity: Uttam
Stating that the storage capacity of the Sriramsagar Project (SRSP) has dwindled due to accumulation of silt, Minister for Civil Supplies and Irrigation N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that desilting and dredging works will be taken up in adherence to modern techniques. Similarly, desiltation of Kadem and other projects will be taken up by using modern methods to enhance their storage capacity, he said while addressing a review meeting with the officials of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagtial and Rajanna Sircilla districts in Karimnagar on Thursday. IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar were present. The meeting had reviewed the implementation of Indiramma Housing Scheme, the Bhu Bharati initiative, paddy procurement and preparations for Kharif season, officials said. Mr. Reddy said the MLAs and MPs concerned will be involved in the exercise of devising the action plans for the release of water for Kharif season. Telangana achieved a record-breaking paddy production of over 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in around 60 lakh acres in Yasangi (rabi) season. He added that an amount of Rs 13,000 crore has been paid to farmers towards Yasangi paddy procurement till May 28, 2025. During the same period in 2023, only Rs 3,500 crore was paid to farmers under the previous BRS government, he said. Congress strengthened the Irrigation sector appointing 1100 engineers and 1800 Laskars. He asked Jagtial Collector to consult the officials concerned to speed up the process of obtaining forest clearance for the Rollavagu project. He said the Narayanapuram reservoir, Kondagattu lift irrigation scheme and Kalikota Suramma projects will be completed in an expeditious manner. He said all the leaders should cooperate with the judicial commission probing the Medigadda barrage incident. Appropriate action will be taken based on the judicial commission report, he added.
