BLACKPINK's Jisoo's friendship with Super Junior's Leeteuk's stalker fan explored amid ex-GLAM Trinity's model comeback

Earlier this month, BLACKPINK's Jisoo was seen enjoying time with a familiar face from her past: Trinity. She's a former K-pop idol known for both her brief career and lingering controversies. Their outing, captured in a few photos and spotted by fans, has since become a hot topic on Korean and international online communities. Although Jisoo is often praised for her poise and professionalism, her public appearances with Trinity have left many fans divided. Some are celebrating the duo's long-lasting friendship. Meanwhile, others question the wisdom of associating with a figure who was once embroiled in scandal. Trinity's idol career and the rumors that followed Trinity originally debuted in 2012 as a member of GLAM, a girl group under Big Hit Entertainment. The group was known for its bold, edgy image and quickly caught the public's eye. However, Trinity's time in the spotlight was short-lived. Not long after their debut, she exited the group, citing 'personal reasons.' At the time, her departure seemed sudden, and questions about her abrupt exit lingered. Shortly after she left the group, rumors began circulating online that Trinity had previously engaged in behavior considered harmful and invasive. She was accused by some netizens of being a sasaeng. It's a term used to describe obsessive fans who invade the privacy of idols. In particular, she was alleged to have targeted Super Junior's Lee Teuk. No official statement was ever released by Big Hit Entertainment confirming these claims. However, the rumors stuck, casting a long shadow over her image. It was widely speculated that these controversies prompted the agency to quietly remove her from GLAM to prevent further reputational damage. The group eventually disbanded, and Trinity disappeared from the idol scene. A new identity, but the same friend After stepping away from the entertainment world, Trinity rebranded herself as a model under the name Yoon Ah Rong. While she no longer appears in idol promotions or major broadcasts, she has remained close to Jisoo over the years. Despite Trinity's past, the two have been seen together on several occasions: sharing photos, celebrating birthdays, and showing continued support for one another. The latest public outing in June has once again placed this friendship under a microscope. While Jisoo hasn't publicly addressed the situation, many fans are already forming strong opinions. Divided reactions As the photos of Jisoo and Trinity made the rounds online, opinions split into two camps. On one side, critics argue that Jisoo should be more cautious about who she publicly associates with. They claim that her continued connection to someone with a tainted reputation could reflect poorly on her and BLACKPINK as a whole. On the other hand, many fans have come to Jisoo's defense. They believe personal friendships shouldn't be subjected to public approval, especially when no official wrongdoing has ever been confirmed in Trinity's case.

AI cameras do little to help in crowd management

BHUBANESWAR: Even advanced technology and huge deployment of police force failed to streamline the huge crowd gathered to witness the annual Rath Yatra in Puri on Friday, leading to chaos and crowding of the inner cordons Odisha Police had installed at least 275 artificial intelligence (AI) based CCTV cameras to monitor crowd movement, regulate traffic and keep a vigil on anti-socials. However, the advanced CCTV cameras did not turn out to be as handy as expected to ensure smooth crowd management. Sources said the unregulated crowd was one of the primary reasons behind the delay in the pulling of the chariots of the holy Trinity on the Grand Road on the day. While an integrated control room was set up in Town police station, the senior officers were also able to access the feed of the CCTV cameras and the drones at Singhadawar police station. Besides, one control room each was set up at Kumbharpada and Government Railway Police stations in Puri. Despite being equipped with advanced technology and strong deployment of about 10,000 police personnel, effective management of the crowd could not be ensured. Similarly, many devotees lost their valuables like gold ornaments and mobile phones during the heavy rush near the chariots. Though Odisha Police had created an online service to provide help with road guidance and parking, devotees also had a harrowing time to find suitable parking places after taking assistance from the WhatsApp chat bot launched by Odisha Police. 'Though the WhatApp chatbot indicated Jagannath Ballav parking, it was marked for only VIPs and I had to drive around in the huge incoming crowd to find a place at a hotel,' said a devotee who possessed a car-pass.

Joe Duffy not approached about running for Áras an Uachtaráin

Broadcaster Joe Duffy has said that he has not been approached to contest in the next presidential election. Mr Duffy was speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, after his final broadcast of the Liveline programme, which he presented for 27 years. He refused to answer when asked directly whether he was ruling out a presidential bid or not. "I had no idea when I chose today to leave that there would be lots of presidential talk in the air," he said. "I was president of Trinity students union, I still have the posters. I was president of the USI, I still have the posters, but my face has changed a lot, maybe my intellect isn't as strong as it used to be. "There's some great candidates already been mentioned [for the election], and by the way there was some great candidates before who didn't make it and that's the world we live in." He said that his departure from the Liveline programme "hasn't hit me yet", and that he feels similar to his listeners in losing a friend. "It was the listeners who made that programme, I was in the middle, I tried to mediate as best as I can and facilitate, but it was the listeners that rallied 'round and held hands and helped each other," Mr Duffy said. The broadcaster also said that RTÉ's main job was to make programmes. "We have to remind ourselves day after day, content, Irish programmes for Irish audiences, and stay focused on that." "Our job here in RTÉ, and the State through the licence fee help us enormously, our job in RTÉ is to make Irish programmes for Irish people. "And make them as unique and as entertaining and as educational and as political - not party political - as possible," he said.

5 Insightful Analyst Questions From Carriage Services's Q1 Earnings Call

Carriage Services delivered first quarter results that exceeded Wall Street's expectations for both revenue and non-GAAP earnings, while the market response was muted. Management attributed the performance to higher funeral home volumes and increased average revenue per contract, with CEO Carlos Quezada highlighting that a shift in the flu season pulled some demand into Q1. Cemetery revenue also rose, supported by ongoing preneed sales strategies, while the company made progress on its Trinity system rollout and supply chain optimization initiatives. Is now the time to buy CSV? Find out in our full research report (it's free). Revenue: $107.1 million vs analyst estimates of $104.2 million (3.5% year-on-year growth, 2.8% beat) Adjusted EPS: $0.96 vs analyst estimates of $0.84 (14.3% beat) Adjusted EBITDA: $32.9 million vs analyst estimates of $32.86 million (30.7% margin, in line) The company reconfirmed its revenue guidance for the full year of $405 million at the midpoint Management reiterated its full-year Adjusted EPS guidance of $3.20 at the midpoint EBITDA guidance for the full year is $130.5 million at the midpoint, below analyst estimates of $131.4 million Operating Margin: 24.1%, up from 20.3% in the same quarter last year Market Capitalization: $694.3 million While we enjoy listening to the management's commentary, our favorite part of earnings calls are the analyst questions. Those are unscripted and can often highlight topics that management teams would rather avoid or topics where the answer is complicated. Here is what has caught our attention. Alex Paris (Barrington Research) asked about funeral segment performance in March and April; CEO Carlos Quezada confirmed momentum continued through April, driven by volume and modest price increases. Alex Paris (Barrington Research) inquired whether the impact of COVID-19 has fully normalized; Quezada replied the company believes volumes have now leveled out, expecting a 'wash off' effect in 2025. Alex Paris (Barrington Research) questioned the decline in preneed cemetery property sales; Quezada attributed this to inventory delays at key cemeteries, not consumer demand, and expects growth to rebound as projects complete. John Franzreb (Sidoti & Company) asked about cost-saving initiatives; CFO John Enwright described ongoing supply chain projects in caskets, fleet, and digital services, with meaningful savings expected by year-end. George Kelly (ROTH Capital Partners) requested details on upcoming property divestitures and acquisition timing; Enwright indicated additional sales and reinvestment into new businesses are planned for the back half of the year. In the coming quarters, the StockStory team will monitor (1) the pace at which Carriage Services completes and monetizes new cemetery inventory, (2) execution and realized savings from ongoing supply chain and Trinity system initiatives, and (3) progress on the company's acquisition strategy as divestiture proceeds are redeployed. Trends in funeral home volume and pricing, along with resilience in preneed sales amid economic uncertainty, will also be important signposts. Carriage Services currently trades at $44.24, up from $39.90 just before the earnings. Is there an opportunity in the stock? The answer lies in our full research report (it's free). The market surged in 2024 and reached record highs after Donald Trump's presidential victory in November, but questions about new economic policies are adding much uncertainty for 2025. TV fans are already sold on Line of Duty creator's new Netflix thriller

Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has begun work on a new TV thriller for Netflix, starring Richard Madden. The pair previously collaborated on the 2018 miniseries Bodyguard, which starred the former Game of Thrones actor as a protection officer for politician Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). Showrunner Mercurio followed this with perhaps his best known work – the hit series Line of Duty, which ran on the BBC from 2012 to 2021. Mercurio will reunite with Madden for the forthcoming thriller Trinity, which he will also write and executive produce. The eight-part series will also star Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who plays nuclear submarine commander Decker. Becoming involved with shady defence secretary Webb Preston (played by the former Game of Thrones star), she grows increasingly convinced that there's a conspiracy afoot. Reacting to news of the series being greenlit, fans shared their thoughts on Trinty's potential over social media. 'Gugu + Madden = must-see spy action, Netflix. Hype!' exclaimed TrpstrLeonOG on X. 'The casting director cooked with these two,' said Joe_Teffo. 'You got me at Richard Madden. Bring it on!' commented deereads_novels. 'Sold,' said EggFlip, over on Reddit. 'Here for this,' agreed Logical-Balance1975. Only a synopsis for the series has been released so far, reading: 'A heroic female naval officer becomes involved with the outwardly charismatic secretary of defence, only to discover he may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy.' Loki star Mbatha-Raw will play naval officer Decker, while Madden appears as the mysterious defense secretary. With Mercurio on showrunner duties, he will share executive producer responsibilities with Hat Trick Studios' Jimmy Mulville. Meanwhile, the first two episodes will be written and directed by Daredevil: Born Again and Dexter director Michael Cuesta. Mercurio may be looking to the future with his latest TV project, but fans aren't ready to move on from his biggest hit just yet. Earlier this year, star Martin Compston added fuel to the fire when he weighed in on rumours that a seventh series of the crime drama was in the works. 'We're always talking about possibilities and schedules and whatnot,' he told The Sun. However, he immediately dampened the flames by admitting: 'Everybody's got stuff going on at the minute, so I think anything, unfortunately, would be a way off.' Elsewhere, others have held out hope that Bodyguard might return for a second series. When the first season was released, Mercurio said that he would 'absolutely' bring the show back for a second series. More Trending While that never emerged, producer Simon Heath teased as recently as 2021 that it might one day still be made. 'Bodyguard is a big beast to put back together. I'm reasonably confident we will see it in due course,' he told 'With Line Of Duty, again, we don't know whether season six will be the last,' he added. View More » Will Trinity fill the void?
