Ohio State Patrol hosts open house in Fremont ahead of cadet deadline
BUCYRUS – The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is hosting an open house on July 11 and the deadline to apply for the next cadet class is fast approaching. The open house will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2181 W. Ohio 20 Bypass in Fremont.
The Bucyrus District is holding open houses for community members and the media throughout the summer. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet local post personnel and talk to recruiters. Attendees can also view equipment and vehicles used by the patrol.
The Bucyrus District serves several counties, including Crawford, Erie, Huron, Marion, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca and Wyandot. In addition to the Fremont Post, open houses are still planned in Mansfield on July 25, Marion on Aug. 8 and at the Norwalk Post on Aug. 22. All take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking for service-minded individuals to join its ranks. The patrol offers a career path for those who are natural leaders, skilled communicators or have a passion for helping others. Graduates from the academy will be assigned to a patrol post within 50 air-miles of their residence.
