Bangor, N.S., man facing charges after 40,000 unstamped cigarettes seized: RCMP

A 48-year-old Bangor, N.S., man is facing charges after police seized 40,000 unstamped cigarettes in the community.
Meteghan RCMP Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Maza Road on June 24.
'During the search, officers located and seized over two hundred cartons of unstamped tobacco. Investigators established that the cartons contained approximately forty thousand cigarettes,' reads a news release from Nova Scotia RCMP.
Police say officers also seized cash and items that support possession for the purposes of selling.
Troy Deveau was arrested and faces charges of:
selling of tobacco products and raw leaf tobacco
unlawful possession of unstamped tobacco products
possession of tobacco on which tax had not been paid
possession of tobacco not bearing prescribed markings
Deveau was released by police and is scheduled to appear in Digby provincial court on Aug. 14.
