Lindsay Lohan helps Jamie Lee Curtis reconsider mother comments
Jamie Lee Curtis says Lindsay Lohan has helped her reconsider whether her mother would be proud of her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. While Jamie, 66, won an Oscar for the film, she previously admitted her late mom Janet Leight, who died in 2004 at the age of 77, wouldn't have approved because of how dowdy she looks in the film but Freakier Friday co-star Lohan has given her a different perspective. She told PEOPLE: '"It's funny because Lindsay - you can say things and you think them and then you read them. And Lindsay said to me one day, 'Well, how do you know what she would've thought?' And I'm like, 'Well, I know my mom. I think I know,' but she's right. My mom's dead. And I don't know, maybe she would've loved Everything Everywhere. I don't think so. "The reason why I didn't think she would love it is because in her generation, as I was trying to say, what you looked like was your currency. [Leigh] was a great beauty. I've never been a great beauty. I've been cute. I was cute. Not beautiful. My mother was legendarily beautiful. And so because of that, I thought she would have a problem with the way I looked." In the film, Curtis plays an IRS agent who audits Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan's laundromat business. Her character wears glasses and unfashionable clothes, with Curtis also donning an unflattering wig. And, while Jamie doesn't believe her mother would have liked her appearance in the film, she things she would definitely approve of Freakier Friday. She said: "Maybe she would've loved it. Maybe she would've appreciated the art of it. She would have loved this [Freakier Friday]. This would be, she loved this. She loved True Lies. She loved it. '[Leigh] always believed that I was a comedian because I was an obnoxious teen. And you know, I was funny and a smart aleck, and I think she always wanted me to be very true to that. That's hard to do when you don't have any confidence in what you're doing. And this has all grown out of many years and a little bit of analysis."

Jamie Lee Curtis reveals she's already started 'retiring' from Hollywood
Jamie Lee Curtis knows she'll leave Hollywood, having already started 'self-retiring'. The Hollywood star, 66, is the daughter of two screen icons in Psycho star Janet Leigh and Some Like it Hot's Tony Curtis. She shared her frank assessment over how the movie industry has impacted her after seeing both her parents struggle with their careers as their youthful looks began to fade. 'I witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age. I watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone,' she told The Guardian. 'And that's very painful.' The consequences of that have had a lasting effect on the True Lies and A Fish Called Wanda star who said that, as a result: 'I have been self-retiring for 30 years. 'I have been prepping to get out, so that I don't have to suffer the same as my family did.I want to leave the party before I'm no longer invited.' Curtis, who shot to fame aged 19 thanks to her role in slasher flick Halloween (1978), is actually currently riding high on the wave of career revival, having won her first Oscar in 2023 for Everything Everywhere All at Once. She also received a Bafta nomination for supporting actress earlier this year thanks to her turn with Pamela Anderson as cocktail waitress Annette in The Last Showgirl, while she recently nabbed an Emmy for her guest spot on TV show The Bear, playing alcoholic Donna Berzatto. The actress is under no illusion that her stock has soared as she describes the experience of playing Donna as 'an unleashing of 50 years of being a performer who was never considered to have any range'. 'It took no toll. The toll has been 40 years of holding back something I know is here,' she added. Curtis will be back in cinemas in August as Tess Coleman, mother to Lindsay Lohan's Anna, who endured a body swap with her daughter in the classic Y2K movie from 2003. More Trending In the sequel, Anna has her own teenage daughter, Harper (Julia Butters), and the swap goes four ways as it also involves Harper's enemy Lily (Sophia Hammons) – who is the one this time inhabiting the now grandma Tess's body. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video She also confirms it was she that pushed through the idea of making Freakier Friday with Disney CEO Bob Iger directly after being constantly asked about it by fans while she was promoting the hugely popular 2018 reboot of Halloween. The star jokingly calls herself 'a weapon of mass promotion' but it was also her that convinced Disney top brass to ensure Freakier Friday wasn't released only on streaming but got it's proper run in cinemas too. Her argument? As Curtis tells it, 'if you don't think the audience that saw Barbie is going to be the audience that goes and sees Freakier Friday, you're wrong'. Got a story? Shaquille O'Neal, Image via Getty NBA icon Shaquille O'Neal is a self-proclaimed fan of popular Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger . From praising his bodybuilding techniques to the Terminator star's dedication towards his fitness, the Boston Celtics alum has been one of the biggest fans of Schwarzenegger. During a recent episode of the popular podcast The Big Podcast With Shaq, the NBA star went on to receive some golden advice from Mr. Olympia with respect to bodybuilding. Shaquille O'Neal gets some great tips from Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger on bodybuilding During the recent episode of The Big Podcast With Shaq, the former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal had a conversation with Arnold Schwarzenegger about fitness and bodybuilding. In between the discussion, O'Neal straightaway went on to ask for tips behind maintaining a chiselled chest like Arnold Schwarzenegger from the early 90s. To which the True Lies star replied, 'In order to really get a great chest, there are four exercises that are very important. One of them is the bench press, then the incline press with a barbell, and then flies with dumbbells or with a flying machine. Now they have machines for all of that stuff, so it's with dumbbells or with a flying machine, and then the other one is the pullover. You know, that gives you the rib cage. You know where you go back, and you know, and really stretch your back and stretch your lats, and so that's the combination of those four exercises. Then when you compete in bodybuilding, it gets into more details with cable crosses and doing dips and all of those kinds of things.' Shaq Asks Arnold For Bodybuilding Advice, If He Liked Acting Over Politics & His Netflix Show FUBAR The Fubar star further elaborated, 'I think a basic routine—if you do, like, you know, those four exercises and do three sets each—I think you're going to get a really good, defined kind of pectoral muscle and chest. Then you can rip your shirt off anytime and then go, you know, make the chest go up and down, you know, and that's right exactly, and you know, and have fun with it and have all the people kind of look at it.' While citing his example, Schwarzenegger said, 'It really depends, you know, on how your joints are. Like, for instance, at my age, you know, I'm almost 78 now. I feel that it is better for me to train lighter and just to do more reps because every time I try to train heavier, then all of a sudden my shoulder hurts, or my elbow hurts, or something hurts.' Shaquille O'Neal has expressed admiration for Arnold Schwarzenegger's legendary physique and the way he built a diverse career beyond bodybuilding. He's noted his respect for Schwarzenegger's seamless move into acting, business, and politics, viewing it as an inspiring example for his own goals. Not Terminator, Expendables, or Predator, a comedy earned Arnold Schwarzenegger his biggest paycheck of over $40 million
Arnold Schwarzenegger is hands down the biggest action star in Hollywood history. Perhaps only Sylvester Stallone can match Arnie's box office dominance and cultural impact. In a four-decade career, Schwarzenegger gave iconic films and characters in The Terminator, Predator, Total Recall, True Lies, and many more. And yet, the film that earned him the most money is actually a comedy. Arnold Schwarzenegger is best known for action blockbusters like The Terminator. Recently, on a talk show, Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger surprised his fans when he revealed that Ivan Reitman's comedy Twins was the most profitable film of his career. Appearing on Watch What Happens Live talk show, Arnold was asked by host Andy Cohen about the film that earned him his biggest paycheck. Arnold replied, 'Well, number one was Twins because we got no money for the salary, but ownership with a piece of the back end. It was fantastic. We went all the way to the bank with that.' When asked if he made more than $20 million or even $40 million, the actor replied, 'It was more than that. It was more than any movie I ever made.' Twins starred Schwarzenegger and DeVito as unlikely twin brothers. Twins starred Schwarzenegger and DeVito as unlikely fraternal twin brothers. The casting had caused a huge uproar in Hollywood as Schwarzenegger was known as an iconic action star at the time, thanks to The Terminator and Predator, but his comedy chops were untested then. All about Twins Since nobody wanted to make comedies with him, the actor devised a plan to increase his chances of appearing in the genre. 'If we don't take any salaries, we can shoot the movie for $16.5 million. We worked out a deal where we got 40% of the backend of the movie. It happened to be the best deal we've ever made,' he said. Twins, directed by Ivan Reitman, was a comedy-drama that starred Arnold and Danny DeVito in the lead roles, marking their first collaboration on the big screen. Released in 1988, the film was a runaway commercial success, grossing $216 million worldwide, and even more on home video. There were plans for a sequel titled Triplets, which would also star Eddie Murphy. But before the film could go on floors, director Ivan Reitman passed away, and the film was canned. Arnold's recent and upcoming work Arnold, now 77, is still doing both action and comedy on screen. The second Season of his action comedy Fubar premiered on Netflix on June 12. Among his upcoming projects is the holiday movie The Man with the Bag, in which he'll play Santa Claus.

'It was more than I made for any movie' Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals which film earned him over 40m
Arnold Schwarzenegger earned more than $40 million for starring in Twins. The 77-year-old actor appeared opposite Danny DeVito in the 1988 comedy film, which was directed by Ivan Reitman. While Schwarzenegger has starred in the likes of The Terminator franchise and other box office heavyweights, including Total Recall and True Lies, he "went all the way to the bank" with Twins thanks to an ownership deal. Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, he said: "Well, number one was Twins, because we got no money for the salary but ownership with a piece of the back end. "It was fantastic. We went all the way to the bank with that." Asked if he made more than $40 million for Twins, he replied: "It was more than that. "It was more than any movie I ever made." Twins saw Schwarzenegger and DeVito appear as unlikely twins Julius and Vincent Benedict, who were separated at birth. Last year, DeVito confirmed he and Schwarzenegger were planning to work together on a film for the first time in 30 years, which is about "two friends, two guys". Speaking in March 2024, he told CNN: "We're working on something - a project that we're going to do together - another movie. "Arnold and I are good buddies. We met way before Twins, years ago. "We get along really well. "We complement each other in a lot of ways. I am way stronger than he is. "We're hoping that sooner than later, we'll have a nice script to go to work." Matilda actor Danny first teased a potential reunion with Arnold in 2023. Referencing his friend's tenure as governor of California from 2003 to 2011, Danny joked to GQ magazine: "We missed Twins 2, because he became governor - which, he should have done Twins 2 instead of becoming governor." There has been previous talk of a potential Twins sequel, titled Triplets, starring comics Eddie Murphy and Tracy Morgan.
