This decision follows an international competitive recruitment process, signalling the NDB's commitment to harness talent to enhance its operations across the continent. Her appointment marks a significant milestone for the bank as it embarks on its next decade of operations aimed at fostering sustainable infrastructure development across Africa. Moahloli's responsibilities will encompass the management of the NDB's African regional operations. Her role will involve leading efforts in project origination, preparation and implementation supervision, acting as the vital interface between the bank and key stakeholders such as governments, private sector players, and civil society. As the NDB celebrates a decade of existence, it has already made strides in South Africa with approvals for 15 impactful projects totalling $7.3 billion. These initiatives primarily target pressing infrastructure needs in sectors such as water, energy, transport, and logistics, reflecting the bank's commitment to enhancing the region's development landscape. Over her decade-long tenure there, she led operational and strategic efforts in debt management, risk management, and stakeholder relations. This robust foundation in fiscal leadership underscores her capability to steer the NDB's regional objectives effectively. In her prior engagements, Moahloli has also provided consulting services centred around public debt management, climate finance, and infrastructure advancement. Her work at the newly established Oman Debt Management Office and her collaboration with the World Bank in outlining requisite reforms for infrastructure delivery at the National Treasury demonstrate her strategic insight into complex financial frameworks. An accomplished academic, Moahloli holds a Master of Business Administration in Executive Management from the University of Cape Town, alongside a Master of Commerce in Economic Science (with Distinction) from the renowned University of the Witwatersrand.
