Kelvin Momo's management takes on scammers amidst Drake's shoutout at Wireless Festival

Image: X Scammers are trying their luck using Amapiano sensation Kelvin Momo's name. His management team has issued a warning to fans and promoters not to fall for the false management when attempting to book the musician. The artist's real management team, Tsquared Productions, revealed that a company called HDS Concepts, along with an individual claiming to be 'Devon', is falsely representing Momo's management team. 'It has come to our attention that a company operating under the name HDS Concepts has been falsely claiming to represent Kelvin Momo as his official management. 'These individuals further allege to be associated with or known as Devon, acting on behalf of Kelvin Momo. We would like to firmly state that Kelvin Momo is not managed by HDS,' read the statement. Additionally, the Amapiano artist's team shared the cellphone numbers used by the fake management team. The team further clarified that all legitimate bookings and engagements for Momo go through them (TSquared Productions), and warned fans and promoters to verify any inquiries through official channels. Meanwhile, Momo received a nod from Canadian rapper Drake during his headlining set at the Wireless Festival, which took place from July 11 to 13. Drake gave a shoutout to the 'Amalobolo' hitmaker for helping him flip one of his chart-topping singles, 'Controlla', into an Amapiano mix, which was followed by him playing it and performing for the attending crowd. 'I hope you enjoy it. Shout out to Kelvin Momo, he helped me flip this tonight,' Drake said. This is not the first time the rapper has recognised the South African sensation. Drake had noticed Kelvin Momo before as they first connected in 2023 when Drake sent Momo a private message, praising his talent. He said listening to Momo's music was like a 'religious experience' and that Momo was 'from another planet'.

'It has come to our attention that a company operating under the name HDS Concepts has been falsely claiming to represent Kelvin Momo,' read the statement from Tsquared Productions, the legitimate management company. The statement by Momo's management stated that a person going by the name 'Devon' has claimed to be Momo's manager. 'We would like to firmly state that Kelvin Momo is not managed by HDS Concepts or any individual claiming to be Devon. These claims are false and misleading.' In May this year, Momo's team was forced to apologise to fans after he failed to show up at three confirmed performances. The Amapiano star, whose real name is Thato Ledwaba, had been scheduled to perform at Café 69, Piano Hub, and Makubenjalo., 'To our valued fans and patrons, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for missing our scheduled performances. 'Due to unforeseen health issues, our artist, Kelvin Momo, fell ill, forcing us to cancel these highly anticipated gigs,' the statement read. The former Generations actress said she received a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be 'Connie Ferguson'. When she checked the number on Truecaller, it appeared as 'Madonsela'. The scammer then video-called her using an old clip from a live workout session she had posted during lockdown. 'After a few seconds, they dropped the call and texted, 'You saw me, right?'' she said. Connie made it clear that she does not offer any investment opportunities and urged her followers to remain vigilant. Amapiano star Kelvin Momo has put a scammer on blast for accepting a gig on his behalf without his knowledge. Kelvin, real name Thato Ledwaba, issued a statement to alert his followers and promoters. 'We'd like to bring to your attention that there have been reports of individuals falsely claiming to represent Kelvin Momo for bookings. In particular, please be cautious of any communication from the number 060 183 2350. This person is not authorised to take bookings on behalf of Kelvin Momo. Please note Kelvin Momo's booking agency is Tsquared Productions. For the correct booking details, please refer to his Instagram bio. Beware of impersonators.' The DJ and producer's fans are gearing up for his show in June. Kelvin is set to perform at The Red Bull Symphonic which sold out in 24 hours after he was announced as headliner for the 2025 edition of the genre-defying experience, accompanied by Adam Howard and the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra. The event is set to take place on June 6 and 7 at The Teatro, Montecasino, which accommodates 1,870 people.
