The Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station received the call at 4.09pm and arrived at the scene, located 25km away, at 4.35pm. The nine-member team led by PBK II Easter Hassan brought the blaze under control by 4.40pm using a single hose reel from their fire engine. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, which also involved the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). Man suffers burns in Tuaran house fire

Tuaran: A 61-year-old senior citizen suffered burns to his hand in a fire that destroyed three houses in Kampung Tagas here Thursday. Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Acting Chief Norkizan Durudin @ Nurudin said the fire department received an emergency call about the incident at 4.46pm. He said 10 personnel were deployed to the scene, along with one fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) utility vehicle. 'Upon arrival, the fire team found three houses were on fire. Two were destroyed, while the third was 80 per cent damaged. 'One male elderly victim sustained burns to his left hand and was given immediate treatment,' he said. Mohammad Nor said the victim was later sent to Tuaran Hospital for further treatment. 'The fire team extinguished the blaze used two hoses with a single water supply line, bringing the fire under control by 5.35pm. 'The operation was called off at 6.35pm. The cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation,' he added. Meanwhile, another fire destroyed a non-permanent house on the same day in Kg Busung Kindu, Tuaran. No casualties were reported in the incident, which happened at around 5.30am. The cause is also under investigation.
