Gillis, who is playing a janitor, rallies the team around an idea he's been brewing. He then proceeds to explain the "Tush Push," which is met with some backlash from Druski. When the sketch wraps over, the broadcast cuts back to Gillis sitting in the crowd with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. He seemed to have enjoyed the production and jokingly claimed that the staff came up with the play in a similar fashion. "Yeah, as a staff we did," Sirianni said regarding the creation of the Tush Push. "It was kind of exactly how you showed it right there." Ahead of taking on this huge role as host, Gillis opened up on his sports fandom in an interview with The Athletic. While looking back at the Eagles' run last year, he cited multiple instances as his favorite moments. I saw it live, and that's the most incredible play I've ever seen," Gillis said. "I've watched football my whole life. I've never seen someone do that. That's insane. Cam Jurgens gets a surprise and unexpected boost from national media
An NFL writer takes it upon himself to kickstart an unofficial Cam Jurgens fan club. There are so many Philadelphia Eagles hype videos released every NFL season and offseason that it's hard to remember each one's origin and location. One dropped last season that featured Jason Kelce as its narrator. One of the highlights was his mention of the City of Brotherly Love's connections to its player. In Kelce's words, "They (Philly sports fans) will love you in this city if you love it... If you don't like what the fans and the media are saying as a player, it's very easy. Love them. Treat them like your brother and go and play your (expletive) off." No one has ever had that issue with Cam Jurgens. Now, thanks to numerous analytical platforms, we often mention these companies, especially when they are doing something exceptional. Cam Jurgens joined the Eagles under a bit of pressure. He was handpicked to replace the great Jason Kelce. As if that isn't tough enough, Kelce signed off on him. He watched from the sidelines as a rookie. He played beside Kelce as Philadelphia's starting right guard in year two. Last season, after Kelce's retirement, he took over as the offensive line's anchor and center. We don't see any issues there. Jurgens earned his first Pro Bowl nod last season, but the highlight of his season came during the postseason in the NFC Championship Game. Hampered by a back injury that had plagued him for weeks, he was unable to start and watched from the sidelines while Landon Dickerson, also injured, took over. Rather than name Jurgens inactive, the Eagles kept him on deck just in case they needed him, and when Dickerson couldn't push his body any further, Jurgens indeed stepped in to help lead his team to the finish line. Those types of efforts don't produce any stats, but it was a heroic effort by both of them. Birds fans won't soon forget. He agreed to terms on a four-year, $68 million extension on April 21, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2030. Jurgens' workmanlike approach and talent have helped Eagles fans to buy in early. Keep an eye on him moving forward. The sky is the limit for this youngster. In a town like Philadelphia, offensive linemen are never anonymous, and this is absolutely one that you should root for.

Upon acquiring Saquon Barkley in free agency, Philly found themselves with an elite backfield threat for the first time in recent memory. This led to them emphasizing the ground game more, especially when the star back was on a historic pace. With Barkley being a focal point of the offense, the wideouts saw a slight dip in production. However, both still put up strong numbers in the regular season. Brown recorded his third straight 1,000-plus yard season while also coming down with seven touchdowns. As for Smith, he finished the 2024 campaign with 833 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns. Upon retaining most of their core in the offseason, the Eagles are in a strong position to potentially repeat as champions. Having so many mouths to feed could impact their numbers again, but Brown and Smith still certainly belong in the conversation with the best pairings at their position. 17 games, 17 storylines to watch in the Eagles' 2025 regular season schedule
We're looking at 17 storylines to watch for each week on the Philadelphia Eagles' 2025 schedule. After months of waiting, the Philadelphia Eagles released their 17-game 2025 NFL regular season schedule back in May, in Championship fashion. They will face the gauntlet of juggernauts in the NFC North and the AFC West and division winners in the NFC West, AFC East, and NFC South. With the schedule reveal complete and travel itineraries getting planned, we're looking at 17 storylines for 17 regular season contests. Week 1: Thursday, September 4: Home vs. Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 PM (NBC^) There will be storylines entering this matchup, but the most urgent scenario features Jalen Hurts needing to defeat a healthy Dak Prescott in a head-to-head matchup. Prescott has a 33-8 record against the NFC East in his career and a 9-4 record against the Eagles. An NFL season is a marathon, but it would be mentally fruitful for Philadelphia to send a message on a night when they raise a banner.
