But the Eredivisie club appear to have resolved the issue by offering the 31-year-old a longer deal and he will end his unsuccessful spell at Ibrox. Propper played 115 matches for Twente between 2021 and 2024 and was the club's captain. However, he failed to nail down a regular spot at Rangers, despite scoring in an Old Firm win against Celtic in January and he only started 22 league games. Robin Propper returned to Rangers under 'pressure' as former club desperate to roll out red carpet
The Dutchman is wanted by his old club after failing to impress at Ibrox - and another outcast could be heading for the exit Robin Propper was under 'a lot of pressure' to return to Rangers training - as Twente Enschede wait for an answer over a return to the Dutch side. Propper is expected to be allowed to leave Ibrox for £1.5 million to return to the Dutch club he previously captained. But he's asked to meet with new manager Russell Martin this week as the players return to training before making a decision on his future. And Twente sports director Jan Streuer has revealed they are happy to allow Propper to take his time in making a decision. He said: "We are interested in Robin Propper and he is very welcome here. But he was also very welcome at Rangers' return to training. "Of course he still has a contract there. We'll wait and see. There was a lot of pressure on him to come back. "He has to be one hundred per cent behind it himself. We hope he can come, that's not entirely certain yet. We have to wait and see. But I repeat, he is very welcome with us." Meanwhile, Gaziantep FK are lining up a move for Rangers flop Rabbi Matondo, according to reports in Turkey. The Super Lig side finished 14th in Turkey's top flight last season and are looking to strengthen. Wales winger Matondo was on loan at Hannover 96 in Germany last season and doesn't appear to have a future at Ibrox. The report states Rangers have 'given the green light' to the transfer and will be hopeful of offloading the 24-year-old.
