Sausage sold at Walmart and elsewhere recalled after white plastic found inside
Plastic shouldn't be among the ingredient amalgamation that creates any sausage, which is why Kayem Foods announced Thursday it is recalling about 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage. The Chelsea, Massachusetts, company recalled al fresco Chicken Sausage Sweet Apple with Vermont made syrup flavor in 11-ounce vacuum-packed packs, lot No. 179, to be used or frozen by Oct. 1, 2025. Establishment number 'P-7839' is inside the USDA inspection mark. 'The problem was discovered after the firm notified (USDA-Food Safety Inspection Service) that it received three consumer complaints reporting white pieces of plastic in the chicken sausage products,' the USDA-posted recall notice said. MORE: Plastic could be in yogurts with M&Ms, Oreo, Snickers, Twix, cookie dough pieces Among the retailers nationwide getting this sausage is Walmart, which quickly posted on its website that the sausage went to Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and these 26 states: Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia. YoCrunch yogurt products voluntarily recalled due to possible plastic contamination
Danone U.S. is voluntarily recalling 17 varieties of YoCrunch yogurt sold nationwide "due to the potential presence of plastic pieces in the dome topper," the company said this week. In a company announcement shared on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website Monday, Danone U.S. said it initiated the recall in cooperation with the FDA on July 11, 2025, after consumers "reported the presence of plastic pieces in the toppers, which have the potential to cause choking." The products come in two adjoining containers, a base filled with yogurt and a separately sealed topper with various add-ins like Oreo pieces, mini M&M's candies, Snickers and Twix. The transparent plastic pieces may have sharp edges, which Danone U.S. said "could present a risk to consumers because some pieces are between 7 and 25 mm in length." "The issue is isolated only to the separately packaged topper and does not impact the separately packaged yogurt," the company said, noting that the recall applies to "all flavors and sizes of YoCrunch products currently inmarket." A full list of impacted products, including lot numbers and expiration dates, can be found here. Danone U.S. said it is "working swiftly with retail partners to remove the impacted product from shelves, while it works to address the issue and bring back the YoCrunch products so many people enjoy." Customers who purchased the recalled YoCrunch products have been urged to not consume them and to contact the company's consumer care line at (877) 344-4886, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, for questions and refund information. In a statement to ABC News on Wednesday, Danone U.S. said, "We take every consumer experience seriously and are issuing this voluntary recall in line with Danone's commitment to product quality and consumer safety."

Recall: Plastic could be in yogurt products with M&Ms, Oreo, Snickers pieces
Yogurt that includes pieces of beloved candies might also have sharp pieces of plastic, causing the latest not-food-in-your-food recall. In a plastic dome atop recalled YoCrunch yogurts, you find M&Ms, crumbled Oreos, granola, pieces of Snickers, Twix and cookie dough to add for texture. But, Danone U.S.'s recall notice states, customers found something else that adds unwanted texture. 'Consumer complaints have reported the presence of plastic pieces in the toppers, which have the potential to cause choking,' the recall notice said. 'The plastic pieces are transparent, may have sharp edges, and could present a risk to consumers because some pieces are between 7 and 25 mm (28/100 and 98/100 of an inch) in length.' Not only could the plastic cause choking, but, in sharp contrast to Oreos or M&Ms, the taste of blood if your tongue or cheek gets cut. Popular yogurt recalled nationwide due to possible plastic pieces
Danone U.S., the maker of YoCrunch, is recalling the yogurt product due to the potential presence of plastic pieces in the packaging's dome topper, according to federal health officials. In an alert, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the plastic pieces, which were discovered after reported consumer complaints, could potentially cause a choking response if eaten. "The plastic pieces are transparent, may have sharp edges, and could present a risk to consumers because some pieces are between 7 and 25 mm in length," the FDA noted. "The issue is isolated only to the separately packaged topper and does not impact the separately packaged yogurt." This recall applies to all flavors and sizes of YoCrunch products currently in market at retail stores nationwide, including those with toppers containing granola, cookie dough, Oreo, M&M, Snickers and Twix pieces. A full list of impacted product names and code dates is on the FDA's website. "The company is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the impacted product from shelves," the FDA said. For information on refunds, consumers can contact the YoCrunch consumer care line at 1-877-344-4886. Sen. This Twix ad is so ‘dangerous' it was banned in the UK
A TV ad for Twix has been banned in the UK after an industry standards group said it promoted unsafe driving. The commercial 'Two is More Than One' shows a driver in vintage sedan being followed on a remote road; to lose his pursuer, he swerves off the highway and into a ravine. The man lands safely upside down on top a right-side-up clone version of him and his car, and together—with Twix in hand—they ride off into the desert as the sun sets. The ad is an absurd play on the double candy bars Twix is known for, but for regulators for the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), an independent advertising regulator in the UK that polices ads standards, the ad went too far. In a ruling Wednesday, the ASA said the ad encourages 'dangerous driving' and banned it from airing again in its current iteration. Absurdity and fantasy are favorite ways for advertisers to sell products from candy to perfume, and Mars Wrigley argued their Twix ad had 'a cinematic presentation' and was set 'in a separate world that was absurd, fantastical and removed from reality.' Rather than encourage unsafe driving, the company argued the ad used imaginative storytelling, absurd elements, and Hollywood style to convey the message of the campaign, according to the ruling. Further, the company noted that Twix is known for playful, humorous advertising, like 'Ideologies,' the 2012 ad that pitted the left vs. right Twix against each other. The ASA didn't dispute that the ad had a cinematic feel, but they had a problem with the emphasis on a chase and speed, and ultimately the group believed the spot broke ad standards against encouraging irresponsible driving. The ASA has enforced the rule before, including in 2015 against Honda. 'We considered the emphasis on a chase, and the speed inherent to that, and the driving maneuvers featured would be dangerous and irresponsible if emulated in real life on a public highway,' the ruling says. 'Because we considered the driving depicted in the ads condoned unsafe driving, that appeared likely to breach the legal requirements of the Highway Code, we concluded the ads were irresponsible.' The ad no longer appears on the Twix UK YouTube page, though third-party accounts uploaded it for the curious, and truth be told, it's a whole lot more interesting now that it's banned. For a candy brand that caters to the young and young at heart, making a humorous commercial that's too dangerous for TV might just be a badge of honor.
