‘Full Moon' Ghee Worth Rs 2,495 Is Now A Topic Of Debate On Internet

Last Updated: Last year, Nithin Kamath, a co-founder of Zerodha, invested in Two Brothers Organic Farms. A special 'full moon ghee" that is made, as the name implies, during a full moon to harness the 'energy and positivity of the night sky," is causing a stir on social media for an agritech firm based in Pune. The organic product, which costs Rs 2,495 for a 500ml jar, has generated a lot of conversation on X (formerly Twitter) because of its original marketing concept. This special ghee, which is made by Two Brothers Organic Farms with the help of Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath, is only made twelve times a year, under the full moon. 'A rare treasure, crafted with care and tradition, our Full Moon Cultured Ghee is no less than a health wonder. Made from the milk of free-grazed Gir cows, this ghee is churned on the waxing phase of the full moon, absorbing the energy and positivity of the night sky," the startup stated on its official website. Co-founder Satyajit Hange described the 'lactose-free full moon ghee" as a 'sensory experience" in a video posted on the website. 'It's an ancient ayurvedic elixir that's made only 12 times a year. It's made from free-grazing gir cows' A2 milk," he also states in the clip. Hange went on to explain the procedure: they take this milk, culture it to curds, and then churn these curds to make butter, which is melted on firewood in the early hours of the morning, between 4 and 6 am. All of this takes place during a full moon. According to the co-founder of Two Brothers, the full moon has an impact on both the human body and oceanic tides, which in turn influences the ghee's composition. As per Hange, consuming a tablespoon of this ghee daily is a lovely experience. Additionally, the website stated that producing the product during a full moon increases its efficacy. Social media users, however, are not persuaded. Meanwhile, Dr Nandita Iyer, a doctor and health educator, claimed on X that the term 'full moon" was merely a marketing ploy to raise the price of their goods. Kamath's Rainmatter Foundation led the startup's Rs 58.2 crore fundraising effort last year, according to The Economic Times. First Published:
