Gogo Manzini's family requests mourners to wear white for her funeral
The family of media personality and sangoma Gogo Manzini, also known as Tyra Sindane, has shared the details of her funeral. Born, Raymond Thabo Sindane, Gogo Manzini will be laid to rest on Sunday, June 15 but on Saturday, June 14, there will be a Umgidi We Zangoma, a prayer gathering where sangomas get together to sing and dance in remembrance, the whole night. The family explained that at 2am her body would be washed and dressed at the morgue and 5am the body will be sent to her home in Sandton for a "goodbye" and then to the farm in Benoni for Umgidi and the funeral on Sunday. Gogo Manzini's funeral will take place in Benoni and she will be laid to rest at Secunda cemetery and mourners have been asked to be dressed in strictly white.

And on Sunday, June 15, is her funeral service that will be held in Benoni, Gauteng province from 8 AM until 10 AM, and Gogo Manzini will be laid to rest at Secunda Cemetery. Earlier in the year, Manzini underwent several transformative surgeries, including a Brazilian butt lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, rhinoplasty, fox eye left and breast augmentation, in Turkey. Speaking to News24 in January, she said: 'Gym was not working for me and my shape – or I'm too lazy. I love clothes and fashion, but I found that clothes were just not sitting right on me. So, I decided if the body won't come to me, I need to fetch it. Everyone has something they wish to fix or adjust, but they are not brave enough. I am brave enough.' She also spoke about how proudly and boldly living as a transgender woman. 'I share my story and journey with people as I know there is someone out there who can relate to my struggles. I want to say that if you are uncomfortable with a certain body type, change it,' Manzini said. 'God has given you the authority to change what you don't like, whether body, sexuality, gender or even a job. This is not just a procedure for me, but a statement.'

She shared that her husband supported her through the journey and the procedures, including their stay in Turkey which cost about R600 000. The bubbly Sindane, who had also undergone skin-lightening, shared then that keeping her skin light was costly because of the weekly drips and skin products. She said her dream was to look like a Korean woman and she was preparing to undergo more surgeries next year. Last month, Sindane's team, friends and family celebrated her in a luxurious soiree party in Sandton on her birthday. She always kept her age a secret, saying that she did not want people to know how old she was.
