Joaquin Buckley ramps up beef with 'ho' and 'pretty boy' ex-UFC champ Israel Adesanya
Joaquin Buckley ramps up beef with 'ho' and 'pretty boy' ex-UFC champ Israel Adesanya Joaquin Buckley went off on Israel Adesanya for hating on him. Adesanya watched his friend Kamaru Usman beat Buckley by unanimous decision in this past Saturday's UFC on ESPN 69 headliner. While giving his breakdown on his YouTube channel, Adesanya couldn't help but give his true feelings towards Buckley and how much he dislikes him. "I hate this n*gga, bro," Adesanya said. "I don't even use the word hate lightly, but I hate this n*gga, bro. Something about him just f*cking annoys me. Coolest thing he's ever done is that kick, and I respect that. Literally, I'm just trying to chill, talk. 'Hey man, we've got to get this going, you and me.' "Like he's rapping to me. Every single time. He's just so f*cking annoying. At one point I literally walked away while as he was talking, and I think he didn't like that, so then he went against me since then. But f*ck the dude. Maybe I'm a hater, bro. Maybe I'm just a hater." Buckley (21-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) fired back at former champion Adesanya (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) for trying to bring him down. "Tell me how you feel to my face though, instead of being like a ho," Buckley responded on his YouTube channel. "You all underneath the covers and sh*t. Like, 'Mmm I hate that n*gga.' Sweet motherf*cker because I don't know why you on my d*ck anyway. You done your thing, you been at your spot, I'm working towards mine. You ain't no real fighter. You want to be a little pretty boy. I would give you a sample, but I don't like boy p*ssy. "You can get this work any given time. I can give it to you, but I just hate fighters like you because you tryna downplay on somebody that's trying to work towards something. What you hating on me for? You did what you did, but look at another brother trying to make it up and you want to clown him. Oh, but I forgot n*gga, you're Chinese. You ain't another brother. The real African that runs that spot is (Dricus Du Plessis)." Buckley, who started out his UFC career at middleweight, is willing to settle things with Adesanya inside or outside the octagon. "We can really get busy if you want to," Buckley said. "And guess what? It ain't got to be competition with the UFC setting this up. We can get busy if you want to."

Joaquin Buckley gives honest reaction to Kamaru Usman UFC loss: 'I feel so humiliated'
Joaquin Buckley gives honest reaction to Kamaru Usman UFC loss: 'I feel so humiliated' Joaquin Buckley gave a honest and raw reaction to his loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC on ESPN 69. Buckley (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) saw his six-fight winning streak snapped by former champion Usman (21-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) in this past Saturday's UFC on ESPN 69 headliner at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Usman resorted to his wrestling to stifle Buckley, and "New Mansa" wound up getting taken down four times and controlled for almost 13 minutes in a unanimous decision loss. "Every round he took me down, kept me there," Buckley said of Usman on his YouTube channel. "I couldn't get back up to my feet. I'm looking at Mike Beltran, like, 'Bro, stand us up at least one time, let me get back up to my feet.' I'm not going to lie to y'all, I feel so embarrassed because of that loss. "I feel so humiliated because of that loss. But at the same time, I've got to bow my head. Usman showed me who he was – truthfully, bro. I've really just got to understand that as many excuses that I can make about this fight, and why it didn't go my way because X, Y, Z – it don't matter. That night, it really showed it's levels to this game." Buckley explained what he felt like went wrong. "That was the first time I went into a fight, and I didn't have that kill or be killed mentality, and that's what kind of led to my downfall," Buckley said. "I'm looking at pretty much the next move, and how big and how massive we're going to become. This is our show-out moment, and it's OK to have that type of mentality, but you've got to always remember it's just another fight. With that being said, he had that key mentality. He was aware of the threat that was in front of him, I wasn't, and I wasn't aware of that threat until the fifth round, and that's when I knew I had to turn it on."

Daniel Cormier remains high on Joaquin Buckley after UFC Atlanta loss to Kamaru Usman
Daniel Cormier remains high on Joaquin Buckley after UFC Atlanta loss to Kamaru Usman Show Caption Hide Caption Who's next for Joaquin Buckley after Kamaru Usman loss? MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn plays matchmaker and looks ahead to what makes sense for Joaquin Buckley Daniel Cormier only sees positive things for Joaquin Buckley after he suffered his first loss at welterweight in the UFC. Buckley (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) saw his six-fight winning streak snapped when he dropped a unanimous decision to former champion Kamaru Usman (21-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) in this past Saturday's UFC on ESPN 69 headliner at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Despite the loss, Cormier thinks Buckley's stock remains high. He credits him for never giving up throughout the fight after getting stifled on the ground for a good portion of it. "He's brash, he's loud, and he was annoying, but now he seems to be doing the right things," Cormier said on "Good Guy/Bad Guy" with Chael Sonnen. "And guess what? He can fight a lot, and this dude is in shape. That was probably the most impressive thing to me was that, after going through that, going through as hard of a fight as he had, and he was able to still fight at the rate that he fought. In that fifth round, that was crazy impressive to me watching Joaquin Buckley." Cormier is confident that if Buckley can fine tune his takedown defense, he'll be a major threat at 170 pounds. "I was very impressed with Joaquin Buckley," Cormier said. "And in very few cases, a guy comes out better after he loses. I feel like that's what we're looking at with Joaquin Buckley because I think he fought well. He was very brave in the fifth round, he showed that he can go 25 minutes with one of the best fighters in the world. He just looked like he belonged. ... If Joaquin Buckley can pick up a couple of those little details where he's not getting taken down, he's going to be a real problem for anyone in that weight class, and I feel like Joaquin Buckley after Saturday is honestly better off even if he lost the fight."

Miranda Maverick reveals devastating injury suffered in UFC Atlanta loss to Rose Namajunas
Miranda Maverick reveals devastating injury suffered in UFC Atlanta loss to Rose Namajunas Miranda Maverick had to battle through some major adversity in her competitive loss to Rose Namajunas. Maverick (15-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) dropped a unanimous decision to Namajunas in Saturday's UFC on ESPN 69 co-main event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Maverick said she tore her ACL at some point in Round 2 – likely during the grappling exchanges when Namajunas (14-7 MMA, 12-6 UFC) took her down around a minute-and-a-half into the round. "Not the result I wanted but I fought with what I had. My ACL was torn in the second round (i'll have to rewatch to know exactly when but I think it was during a takedown exchange)," Maverick wrote on Instagram. "I never got dropped, but I was unstable on my legs so as soon as I got hit in the third round my leg buckled. I'm blessed I was able to make it to the end of the fight and I'm honored that I got to share the cage with the legend @rosenamajunas 🙏🏼😎🇺🇸 i'll take this lay off in stride and you will see me again! But for now time to recover and figure some things out." Namajunas dropped Maverick with a left hook in Round 3, which Maverick said was a result of her injured knee buckling. The loss to Namajunas snapped Maverick's four-fight winning streak.
