UNC basketball releases its full non-conference schedule for 2025-2026 season
Which matchups are you most excited for? As the UNC basketball team inches closer to the start of its 2025-2026 season, anticipation continues building in Chapel Hill. With the exception of Seth Trimble, James Brown and Zayden High, everyone is a newcomer to the Tar Heels' star-studded roster. North Carolina hit the transfer portal hard: bringing in 7-foot center Henri Veesaar, likely starting point guard Kyan Evans, hometown kid Jarin Stevenson, plus a pair of shooting guards in Jonathan Powell and Jaydon Young. Hubert Davis continued to showcase his recruiting prowess, with UNC's 2025 recruiting class including Top-10 recruit Caleb Wilson, plus a pair of combo guards in Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis. The Tar Heels previously teased fans about their upcoming season, releasing a few non-conference matchups. North Carolina released the rest of their non-conference opponents on Friday, now allowing fans to prepare which nights they'll be in the Dean Dome, on the road, or on their couches. Outside of a road clash with Kentucky, a neutral-site battle with Ohio State, plus a pair of Fort Myers (Fla.) Tip-Off games against Michigan State and St. Bonaventure, you'll notice one eye-popping characteristic about UNC's non-conference schedule: every matchup is in the Dean Dome. The Tar Heels' first official home game will be Monday, November 3 against Central Arkansas, which became Division I in 2010. Four days later, North Carolina will host a highly-anticipated matchup against Kansas, which won in Allen Fieldhouse last year. Radford (Nov. 11), NC Central (Nov. 14) and Navy (Nov. 18) are all winnable games, then UNC faces a strong Atlantic 10 program in St. Bonaventure, followed by a Thanksgiving Day game against Tom Izzo's Spartans. Rupp Arena will be rocking on December 2, as will the Dean Dome on December 7 against Georgetown. USC-Upstate, ETSU and ECU are all teams the Tar Heels should beat handily, while Ohio State will provide a strong challenge. She added, 'Due to its pathetic and embarrassing content, I imagine she wants it back. She should make the point to burn it so she continue [sic] to live in delusional denial.' The letter in question was supposedly found by Hudson at Belichick's $2.2 million Hingham home in an old invoice file. In it, Holliday had allegedly poured out her frustrations over being excluded from aspects of Belichick's life and his ongoing loyalty to ex-wife Debbie Clarke. Holliday had written, 'I'm the one that loves and adores you... tries to ALWAYS remind you how grateful I am of your love,' expressing feelings of being sidelined in favor of Clarke, despite her love and commitment to the coach. Belichick and Holliday were together for 16 years before parting ways in 2023. Shortly after, Belichick's romance with Hudson became public. The couple reportedly first met on a flight in 2021 and have since been spotted attending high-profile events, including the NFL Honors. But Hudson's entry into Belichick's world has been far from seamless. Page Six reports that she has been 'iced out' by Nantucket's elite social scene—where Holliday remains a central figure. Her growing influence in Belichick's post-Patriots chapter has raised eyebrows too, especially after she was seen on the field at UNC, where Belichick has taken a new role. Pablo Torre says the NFL is monitoring his media appearances after collusion leak
Journalist Pablo Torre said the NFL is monitoring his media appearances after he reported on his podcast on Tuesday that the league allegedly colluded with its 32 franchises to avoid needing to give veteran star quarterbacks guaranteed money 'not long after' the Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a fully guaranteed $230 million contract in 2022. During an appearance on 'The Dan Le Batard Show' on Wednesday, the Meadowlark Media personality alleged that the league 'fought really hard' to keep it quiet after Torre obtained a 61-page legal filing as result of an arbitration hearing. This includes witness testimony from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, Giants quarterback Russell Wilson, eight NFL owners, NFLPA, leaders, agents, executives and shows that the NFL attempted to collude with owners. Recently offered recruit calls UNC basketball his 'dream school'
This recruit says UNC is his 'dream school' The North Carolina Tar Heels are establishing their 2027 basketball recruiting board, recently offering a few recruits in the class over the past week. Among those players is in-state combo guard L.J. Smith who earned his offer from Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels. The four-star guard hails out of Lincolnton, North Carolina and has a total of 15 offers so far in his recruitment. After his offer with UNC, Smith dished on the program and had an interesting comment, calling the Tar Heels his 'dream school.' Here is what he told Rivals about the Tar Heels: 'I was really excited. It's my dream school. There were a lot of emotions. I just told them, 'Thank you, and I'm really excited to get down to campus.' Smith will likely visit North Carolina a few times in his recruitment, being an in-state recruit, it's easier for him to get there not only for an official visit but unofficial visits as well. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard is ranked No. 27 nationally, the No. 2 combo guard, and the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He holds offers from Kansas, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas A&M, and Clemson, among others.
