Rob Ryan sees great potential in freshman linebacker Jadyn Walker

Jadyn Walker is a former three-star recruit and the No. 16 player in Michigan as rated by ESPN. Walker has an opportunity to make a name for himself this season on the college football stage. Walker was a dual athlete in high school playing wide receiver and linebacker, putting up great production at both positions and earning many honors. Last season Walker didn't see the field for USC football until the Las Vegas Bowl versus Texas A&M. The expectations are high for the redshirt freshman. Rob Ryan, a new member of the USC coaching staff, sees great potential in him. In a 247Sports USC feature, R.J. Abeytia breaks down the high expectations on Walker along with Rob Ryan's thoughts. "The Fan Club is growing at an exponential rate inside and outside the McKay Center these days. No less a linebacker expert than new position coach set the tone for an offseason in which expectations for the second-year freshman have skyrocketed. "Jadyn Walker is going to be tremendous," Ryan said. "He's the one. He's the best right now at getting into the block and getting off 'em. He's so physical, and he loves it. He loves football. He works every day. He's in our offices every day. "This kid, 'meteoric rise.' Well, yeah, he's in there with the best coaches, so not surprising us, but this kid loves it. He's going to be fantastic. He's got a linebacker body. He runs and hits. He does everything well, and he's going to jump off the charts." Ryan has played his role in developing Walker and setting him up to contribute this season. Abeytia also provided Jadyn Walker's thoughts on learning from Rob Ryan: "It's been great learning from him," Walker said. "He's really a players' coach. He's really good for us. We're blessed to have him. He's really funny in the film rooms. He makes everybody feel comfortable. He's amazing. It's great." Jadyn Walker has all the tools to succeed at USC. One of the most important traits he has: being coachable. He could be a huge X-factor for the Trojans this season. USC football land 5-star pass catcher over Georgia, Texas

The post USC football land 5-star pass catcher over Georgia, Texas appeared first on ClutchPoints. The old saying is, 'When one door closes, another one opens.' For USC Football, a door closed when five-star LB Xavier Griffen decommitted earlier this month. Advertisement But that door was opened up again on Friday. The No. 1 TE Mark Bowman officially committed, per Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports. The top pick in the class of 2026 chose USC over Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas. Bowman hails out of Mater Del High School in Santa Ana, California. The 6-foot-4 225-pound TE was part of a dominant team that went 13-0 last season and won the Open Division State Championship. He caught 32 passes for 435 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. Bowman was highly recruited by other elite college football programs and made visits to each. The Trojans emphasize the offensive and defensive lines as their primary areas of growth. On the offensive side, USC scored big with the recruiting of four-star WR Luc Weaver, triumphing over Minnesota, UCLA, and Washington. USC coach Lincoln Riley has prioritized utilizing the transfer portal to enhance the line of scrimmage. Advertisement Last season, USC finished with a 7-6 record. It was a season marked by struggles, primarily due to a lack of offensive prowess. In truth, Bowman fulfills Riley's offensive vision. Mark Bowman is a USC-type player. USC football is historically known for having a high-power offense. They produced a pipeline of offensive greatness from quarterbacks to wide receivers. Bowman fits right in because of his ability to route, run, and spread the field. He is also a dynamic athlete. His size and strength fit in line with what is typically expected of most tight ends. Riley's approach to offense is to utilize flexibility and explosiveness. He has implemented the Mike Leach 'Air Raid' offense that emphasizes that style. Bowman will be joining a class of 2026 that is ranked No. 1 by 24/7 Sports.

5-star TE has a message for the country after USC football commitment

The post 5-star TE has a message for the country after USC football commitment appeared first on ClutchPoints. The USC football team landed a massive commitment on Friday as five-star tight end Mark Bowman announced that he will play for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. USC is recruiting at an absurd level as they now have 27 commitments already. There is still a lot of time for USC to bring in even more commits, and Bowman is already working hard to make that happen. Advertisement 'Come join the family,' Mark Bowman said, according to a post from Hayes Fawcett. 'We are taking over the city! All of the talent that's here, we gotta bring it to USC. Mark Bowman's commitment is a big one for the USC football team. Bowman is a five-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He is the #16 player in the 2026 class, the #1 TE and the #4 TE in the country. Bowman currently attends Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. 'Bowman recently re-classified from the '27 class in to the class of '26,' Bowman's scouting report reads. 'Has a chance to finish as the highest rated tight end to come out of California in at least the last decade and has been drawing Brock Bowers comparisons since his freshman year. After seeing him in action the last two seasons, the comparison's look valid. At 6-4, 225 pounds, Bowman moves around like a receiver with a ton of twitch and change of direction.' Bowman is expected to be an immediate impact player for the USC football team, and he will probably go to the NFL as soon as possible. Advertisement 'Has great hands and shows the ability to make plays down the field,' the scouting report continues. 'Can get vertical and runs well after the catch. Already an advanced route runner and a dominant run blocker who shows the ability to take an opposing linebacker or defensive back off the field. Has a rare combination of size, skill, athleticism and toughness and is one of the few players you can study and really struggle to find a discernible weakness in his game. Assuming he stays healthy, it will be a surprise if Bowman isn't an immediate impact player and potential three and out college player.' The USC football team has had the #1 recruiting class in the country for a while now, and this commitment from Mark Bowman solidifies that. The Trojans haven't been meeting expectations in recent years on the field, but they are recruiting at an elite level right now. USC just needs to put it all together.
