Volkswagen's Global Sales Slow as US Tariffs Hit North America

Volkswagen AG' s global car sales growth slowed in the second quarter, as the US import tariffs introduced by the Trump administration weighed on European auto makers.
The company delivered 2,271,700 vehicles in the three months through June, 1.2% more than a year ago, with sales in North America falling 16.2%, Volkswagen said Wednesday. The result marked a steep reversal from the 4.4% growth in the region during the first quarter, before US tariffs had been imposed.
