Fisherman feared killed in Sandakan crocodile attack

SANDAKAN: A fisherman, Ubing Markun, 30, is feared to have been killed by a crocodile while casting nets at Sungai Seguntor near Taman Kenari on Monday evening. He left his home in Kampung Batu Putih and arrived at the river around 4.40pm. At about 5.20pm, a witness saw a crocodile attacking his boat.
Advertisement The victim was later found missing, believed to have been dragged into the water. A search and rescue (SAR) operation involving the Fire Department, police, Civil Defence, Wildlife Department and local villagers is ongoing.
