Russian soldier catches Ukrainian drone with bare hands (VIDEO)

A Russian soldier has managed to catch a Ukrainian FPV drone mid-air and destroy it, a video obtained by RT shows. The incident occurred in Ukraine's Kharkov Region, when a Russian position came under attack by a Ukrainian UAV. The FPV is seen approaching a dugout covered with pine branches. The drone slips in, with the Russian serviceman emerging moments later, carrying the deadly device in his hands. The soldier proceeds to repeatedly smack the drone against a tree, destroying its rotors and immobilizing the UAV. The serviceman then throws the drone into a crater before returning to his position, footage shows. 'I understand, yes, I could have died, but it's better for me to die alone than for this drone to kill several of our guys at once,' the soldier told his comrades afterward. Usage of assorted FPV drones has increasingly grown amid the hostilities between Moscow and Kiev, becoming one of the key inexpensive short-range tools for both sides. The drones of this type have been actively used to strike installations, armor, and entrenched positions, as well as to hunt down individual soldiers. In recent months, fiber optics-guided FPV drones were fielded first by Moscow and then by Kiev. Such devices offer a secure alternative to conventional radio-controlled drones susceptible to interference, as well as boasting a significantly increased range.

Ukrainian drone strikes residential building in Voronezh (VIDEOS)

Two videos circulating online appear to show the moment a Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in the Russian city of Voronezh during a raid early Tuesday. According to Voronezh Region Governor Aleksandr Gusev, the attack involved multiple explosive-laden drones and left 24 people injured. A 56-year-old man is in a coma and two other victims are in serious condition, Gusev said in his latest public update. A dashcam video shared by Russian media appears to show the drone diving into a five-story residential building in central Voronezh, around 1km from the regional government headquarters. The video shows an explosion following the impact. Another clip shot from a more distant residential tower apparently shows the same strike from afar. Gusev said the drone raid involved multiple aircraft and damaged 12 apartment blocs, three standalone private homes, and other property including a business center. Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 55 Ukrainian drones launched overnight into Russia were intercepted, with more than half downed over Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine. The Russian authorities have accused Kiev of resorting to attacks on civilian infrastructure due to military setbacks. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky reiterated on Sunday the intention to 'bring the war to Russian territory,' saying his government is planning additional long-range strikes.

Ukrainian drone attack kills one in Russia's Lipetsk, regional governor says

A woman in her 70s was killed, and two other people injured, by falling debris from a destroyed Ukrainian drone in Russia's southwestern region of Lipetsk, regional governor Igor Artamonov said early on Thursday. The debris fell on a residential building in the district surrounding the regional capital, killing the woman and injuring two more, Artamonov said on the Telegram messaging app. 'Signals about falling debris are coming from various areas,' Artamonov added. 'Rescue services and emergency agencies are working in an enhanced mode.' The Russian defense ministry said that it destroyed 10 Ukrainian drones overnight over the Lipetsk region and 69 in total over Russian territory and the Crimean Peninsula. The ministry reports only how many drones its forces destroy, not how many Ukraine launches. Artamonov said in another post that an apartment building under construction in the city of Yelets in the Lipetsk region was damaged as result of an attack and that a small fire broke out at a nearby parking lot. The full damage were not immediately known. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine about the attack. Both sides deny targeting civilians in their strikes during the war that Russia launched against Ukraine more than three years ago. But thousands of civilians have died in the conflict, the vast majority of them Ukrainian. Ukraine has launched multiple air strikes into Lipetsk, a strategically important region with an air base that is the chief training center for the Russian Aerospace Forces. Kyiv has been attacking Russian air bases to reduce Moscow's ability to use its warplanes to strike targets in Ukraine and hammer front lines with guided bombs and missiles. In August, the Ukrainian military said it had hit the Lipetsk airfield, damaging stockpiles of guided bombs and causing a series of explosions.
