RSS, Muslim leaders meet to bridge communal divide
New Delhi: Top brass of the
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(
RSS
), including its chief
Mohan Bhagwat
, held a closed-door meeting in New Delhi with senior Muslim clerics, where a proposal was made to initiate dialogue between Mandirs and Masjids,
Imams and Pujaris
, and Gurukuls and Madrasas to foster trust between the two communities.
Clerics from the
Deobandi and Barelvi
sects, as well as representatives from both Shia and Sunni communities, were present at the meeting. Speaking to ET after the meeting, Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said the objective was to clear misunderstandings between Hindus and Muslims.
