The alleged mastermind behind the murder of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka has been arrested, police confirmed on Tuesday. The accused, identified as trader Ashok Saw, is believed to have orchestrated the killing by arranging a contract worth Rs 10 to the police, out of the total contract amount, shooter Umesh Yadav received Rs 1 lakh in advance. Police have recovered crucial evidence from Yadav's possession, including the motorcycle and pistol used in the murder, 80 live cartridges, two mobile phones, and Rs 1 lakh in revealed that after executing the crime, Umesh Yadav took shelter for some time at Udaygiri Apartment, allegedly owned by another influential Patna businessman. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the apartment last night and detained this businessman for questioning. Two sentenced to six years jail for liquor smuggling in Aurangabad

Aurangabad: Special excise court in Aurangabad on Monday sentenced two men to six years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each for their involvement in liquor trade. The judgment was delivered by additional district and sessions judge-cum-excise court-II in connection with Pauthu police station case no. 14/18 (TR 1233/22, GR 279/18). The court found Kopindra Kumar and Umesh Yadav of Manjholi village under Pauthu police station area guilty under Section 30(A) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016. According to the FIR registered on March 2, 2018, Pauthu police station in charge and investigating officer Arvind Kumar found both the accused carrying country-made liquor manufactured in Jharkhand. Special public prosecutor (SPP), Kumar Yogendra Narayan Singh, said the conviction was based on witness testimonies, seizure lists and the liquor examination report.

India's speed sensation Umesh Yadav is confident that he will make a return to the national side ahead of the five match Test series against England. The 37-year-old has been out of the Test team since 2023 and his last game was the famous World Test Championship final against Australia in 2023. The pacer had an off game where he managed to take two wickets. Umesh while talking to Sports Tak revealed about his recovery from a leg muscle injury and how he believes he can make the team selection cut again."Efforts to make a comeback are complete. I cannot select myself. I will have to play some matches, get fit. To come back, I will have to play competitive cricket. My effort is to get fit and come back in the team" Umesh Yadav told Sports opened up about the hardships he faced to come at this stage, feeling grateful he shared how his father is a coal miner and playing for India was never even in his dreams."When I started playing cricket, I never thought that I will play this, I will play that, I would play for India. I am a natural fast bowler. I have been bowling fast since childhood. I never went to any academy or nets. That is why I never thought that I would play for India. I kept on playing. Someone told me to play this, someone told me to play that. While playing, the son of a coal miner is sitting here playing for India. I think some things that are meant to happen, happen. I always say that fast bowlers are natural; you cannot make them fast bowlers" added UmeshYadav made his Test debut in 2011 and has played 57 tests taking 170 wickets. He has been a force to reckon with under Virat Kohli specially at Indian grounds. Apart from the red ball format, he has also played 75 ODIs and nine T20Is. He was part of India's 2015 World Cup team that went to play till Semi-final.

Fast bowler Umesh Yadav has expressed his desire to make a comeback to the Indian team. Yadav's last appearance for the country came during the World Test Championship (WTC) final 2023, where India lost to Australia by 209 runs at the Oval. With Shubman Gill leading a new era in the red-ball setup, the team is undergoing a significant transition, making it an uphill battle for someone like Umesh to break back into the squad amidst the changing dynamics.
