Two held for stealing watches worth 67K

Pune: Chatushrungi police arrested two youngsters on Monday night for stealing watches worth Rs67,000 from a shop located in a mall in Aundh. The incident occurred around 11am on June 26.
The theft came to light on June 30 when the shop officials reviewed the stock. On the same day, the shop officer, Umeshkumar Ganga (44) of Ambegaon, lodged a complaint with the police. The police studied the CCTV footage of the shop and the mall and subsequently arrested the duo.
Senior inspector Ulhas Kadam of Chatushrungi police told TOI, "The duo stole a watch worth Rs50,000 and another watch worth Rs 17,000 after diverting the attention of the salesperson."

"We arrested Rahul Memane (24) of Chandannagar and Aryan Ramesh Gupta (21) of Wadgaon Sheri," Kadam said, adding, "Both have a fancy for good watches and chose the mall located away from their homes to steal the watches."
"Both belonged to good family backgrounds, and their parents work with different private companies in the city as executives," he said.
