South African singer Lady Du (real name Duduzile Ngwenya) has shown her support to DJ Fresh and Unathi Nkayi ahead of the official launch of their radio station, 93.8 FM.
In April, the radio hosts announced that they collaborated on a new community radio station that promised to bring fresh energy to the local radio scene.
The radio station, which has received a great reception from netizens, was soft-launched shortly as a pop-up radio station in Waterfall, Midrand.
Du took to Instagram to show her full support to the duo and shared a video where Nkayi and DJ Fresh were talking about re-imagining the radio scene for their audience as they make their comeback.
She captioned her post: 'I think you all know I am in full support of our people doing the most!!!!'
The 'Umsebenzi Wethu' singer went on to urge her fans to also support DJ Fresh and Nkayi's radio station, 'I'd like to ask all my fans to fully support their radio station. @ and @djfreshsa, congratulations, may God bless you.'
Nkayi and DJ Fresh are well-known for their exceptional radio hosting skills and have worked for several prominent radio stations in Mzansi, including Metro FM, Kaya959 FM, YFM, as well as 5FM, amongst others.
Nkayi's journey paused in 2021 after she got into a heated argument with fellow co-host Sizwe Dhlomo at the Kaya959 station, which led to her laying a formal complaint and accusing her former colleague of verbal abuse.
In 2024, she appeared on the 'Podcast and Chill' show, where she opened up about how the experience affected her and made her reluctant to return to the radio scene.
Her comeback has been highly anticipated, and Du was not the only person to express her full support for Nkayi and DJ Fresh.
