If You Invested $1000 in Fortinet a Decade Ago, This is How Much It'd Be Worth Now

How much a stock's price changes over time is important for most investors, since price performance can both impact your investment portfolio and help you compare investment results across sectors and industries. Another factor that can influence investors is FOMO, or the fear of missing out, especially with tech giants and popular consumer-facing stocks. What if you'd invested in Fortinet (FTNT) ten years ago? It may not have been easy to hold on to FTNT for all that time, but if you did, how much would your investment be worth today? With that in mind, let's take a look at Fortinet's main business drivers. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, Fortinet, Inc. is a provider of network security appliances and Unified Threat Management (UTM) network security solutions to enterprises, service providers and government entities solutions are designed to integrate multiple levels of security protection, including firewall, virtual private networking (VPN), antivirus, intrusion prevention (IP), web filtering, anti-spam and wide area network (WAN) its products and subscription services, the company provides integrated protection against dynamic security threats while simplifying the IT security infrastructure. Product revenue was $1.91 billion, down 1% while Service revenue of $4.05 billion improved 19.8% year over year in company faces significant competition with Palo Alto Networks, CyberArk, Qualys and Cisco in the network security as well as cloud security space. Anyone can invest, but building a successful investment portfolio takes a combination of a few things: research, patience, and a little bit of risk. So, if you had invested in Fortinet a decade ago, you're probably feeling pretty good about your investment today. According to our calculations, a $1000 investment made in July 2015 would be worth $13,253.64, or a gain of 1,225.36%, as of July 9, 2025, and this return excludes dividends but includes price increases. Compare this to the S&P 500's rally of 204.18% and gold's return of 173.13% over the same time frame. Going forward, analysts are expecting more upside for FTNT. Fortinet's top-line is benefiting from strength in demand from large enterprise customers and growth in the company's security subscriptions amid a slowdown in networking products, along with challenges in sales execution and marketing efficiency. Continued deal wins, especially those of high value, are a key driver. Higher IT spending on cybersecurity is further expected to aid Fortinet in the near-term. The focus on enhancing its unified threat management (UTM) portfolio through product development and acquisitions is a tailwind. We expect 2025 net sales to rise 13% from 2024. However, stiff competition from Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Systems and Check Point Software among others due to increasing consolidation in the security industry poses concerns. Increased hiring and mergers & acquisitions spending remain overhangs on margin. Over the past four weeks, shares have rallied 5.82%, and there have been 3 higher earnings estimate revisions in the past two months for fiscal 2025 compared to none lower. The consensus estimate has moved up as well. Want the latest recommendations from Zacks Investment Research? Today, you can download 7 Best Stocks for the Next 30 Days. Marlink supports Simon Møkster Shipping's fleet with Starlink

Simon Møkster Shipping's fleet is being supported with flexible allocation of pooled Starlink Low Earth Orbit (LEO) bandwidth by Marlink. The transition to a pooled bandwidth model is part of Simon Møkster Shipping's broader digitalisation programme. According to Marlink, the pooling of bandwidth between vessels within the same fleet allows for capacity to be allocated to assets based on deployment needs. Additionally, the pooled model provides 'baseline flexibility' to utilise 'best-effort' LEO internet for crew welfare services while ensuring 'guaranteed' bandwidth through VSAT for business applications. Marlink maritime president Tore Morten Olsen said: 'At Marlink, we're committed to enabling vessel operators like Simon Møkster Shipping to turn complex connectivity challenges into opportunities—wherever they operate. By pooling bandwidth across the fleet, they gain the flexibility to adapt in real time to operational and locational needs, unlocking new levels of efficiency, agility, and performance.' Simon Møkster Shipping, headquartered in Stavanger, Norway, is a provider of support vessels to the offshore energy sector. With a fleet of 15 vessels operating primarily in the North and Barents Seas, the company employs around 500 individuals onshore and offshore. Simon Møkster Shipping ICT manager Terje Gjerde said: 'Simon Møkster Shipping accelerates our digital journey with a new level of flexibility and efficiency offered by the Starlink pooled bandwidth model. With Marlink as our trusted partner, we're not just staying connected, we're gaining the digital edge we need to stay ahead in a highly competitive market.' Under Simon Møkster Shipping's broader digitlaisation programme, Marlink completed a fleet-wide upgrade with its Sealink NextGen hybrid network solution in May 2024. The Sealink NextGen solution includes Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Unified Threat Management (UTM) cyber solutions as standard features, in view of the increased cyber risks associated with LEO internet solutions. Recently, Marlink released its Security Operations Centre (SOC) report from the second half of 2024, which highlighted the growing sophistication of cyber threats targeting maritime users. Marlink's SOC report revealed that cybercriminals have been enhancing their attack capabilities by incorporating new technologies and refining their strategies. Over a six-month period leading up to December 2024, Marlink's global SOC network observed security activities on 1,998 merchant and leisure vessels, recording nine billion security events and 39 billion firewall events. "Marlink supports Simon Møkster Shipping's fleet with Starlink" was originally created and published by Ship Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
