Creston Police: Car damaged by West Des Moines woman

Jun. 30—Jessica J. England, 41, of West Des Moines, was taken into custody 6:40 p.m. June 26 at Maple and Adams streets on the charges of criminal mischief, third degree; possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.. According to a Creston Police report at approximately 4 p.m. a resident in the 500 block of North Birch Street reported England had vandalized the reporting parties vehicle and then drove off in a dark colored Mini Cooper. The vehicle had its back window and the back driver's side windows broke out, the front windshield was broken and there were other marks and dents. A neighbor provided video of a Mini Cooper with stripes and no plates pull into the alley and drive toward the reporting parties residence. Two neighbors also reported hearing yelling around the time the vehicle was damaged. Officers located the Mini Cooper, driven by England, and conducted a traffic stop. England made statements that she could not go to jail and would pay for the window damage. England requested the windows of her vehicle be rolled up and the doors be locked by officers after she was taken into custody. While completing her request, a methamphetamine pipe was observed in plain view. A probable cause search also produced a baggie containing a substance consistent with methamphetamine. England was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $3,300 cash or surety bond.
