WWE Reportedly Planning Major Push for Fan-Favorite Superstar
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Jacob Fatu has been a dominant force since arriving in WWE, and the company is reportedly preparing to put its full promotional weight behind him. A new report suggests that a major marketing push is in the works for the former United States Champion, signaling his ascent to top-tier status. According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on WrestleBinge, WWE is planning a push for Fatu that extends far beyond his on-screen booking. This move comes after Fatu recently turned babyface, opening him up to a broader audience. A Major WWE Push The report indicates that WWE is working on exclusive, city-themed merchandise specifically for Jacob Fatu. This is a strategy typically reserved for the company's biggest babyfaces, like John Cena and Cody Rhodes, and is a clear sign that the company views Fatu as a potential "franchise name." In addition to the merchandise line, the company also plans to feature Fatu in more public-facing appearances. The goal is to build his visibility and make him a recognizable face for the company both in and out of the ring. A former employee Janel Grant accused McMahon, 78, of sexual assault and sexually trafficking her. MoreHis arrival in WWE was met with massive hype, not only because of his MLW run, but also because of his heritage. Fatu is the son of wrestling legend Sam Fatu (The Tonga Kid) and a real-life member of the legendary Anoa'i family, making him a cousin of Roman Reigns and The Usos. A Dominant First Year In WWE Fatu made an immediate impact in WWE, showcasing a unique and terrifying blend of raw power and surprising agility. He quickly rose through the ranks, capturing the United States Championship and establishing himself as an unstoppable force. Fatu's recent turn to a babyface role was a major character shift that has been well-received by the WWE fans, paving the way for this new promotional strategy. While no official comment has been made by the company, this reported marketing plan is a clear message. WWE doesn't just see Jacob Fatu as a top wrestler; they see him as a cornerstone of the company for years to come. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Live Quick Results: List of All Winners, Top Performers and More
Image via WWE YouTube The 40th edition of Saturday Night's Main Event took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with various top stars performing on the show. The NBC special served as the perfect starter dish for the first-ever 2-night SummerSlam next month in New York. The main event featured Gunther defending his World Heavyweight title against Bill Goldberg. Meanwhile, the undercard featured an array of great matches, with Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight, Solo Sikoa defending his United States title against Jimmy Uso, and Randy Orton resuming his rivalry against Drew McIntyre. Let's have a look at the results and the biggest winners from the show. Goldberg vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship The WWE Hall of Famer entered his final WWE match with Ernest 'The Cat' Miller and his son, Gage, as part of his entourage. The wrestling legend was physically compromised as he was dealing with a knee and shoulder injury. However, this did not stop the former Universal Champion from slowing down. He opened the bout with a flurry of multiple clotheslines and looked strong in and out. Moreover, he even displayed his tenacity and laughed off multiple chops from Gunther, which is widely considered his staple move. In the ending sequence, Goldberg accidentally speared the referee, Charles Robinson, which helped Gunther to take advantage. 'The Ring General' then taunted Gage and even shoved him, which led to Goldberg's son stepping over the barricade before being held by the officials. With Gunther back in the ring, Goldberg managed to hit one final spear and a jackhammer for a close fall. However, Gunther soon took control and locked in the sleeper hold to finish the bout as the Hall of Famer passed out. Goldberg then thanked the WWE Universe for a great reception and a 28-year long career before the show abruptly ended due to a shortage of time. Goldberg definitely had a proper farewell match while 'The Ring General' continued his reign. So, the outing was a massive win for both the veterans. Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight This is the contest from the night that took a sudden and worrying turn. Rollins and Knight were locked in a high-octane battle, each trying to hit their signature moves early to gain the upper hand. But the match came to a halt when 'The Visionary' landed awkwardly after a lionsault attempt, with his knee buckling beneath him. He collapsed instantly, clutching the injured leg in visible pain. As Knight moved in to capitalize, the referee stepped in, halting the action and calling for medical attention. A ringside doctor quickly entered the ring and had a brief exchange with Rollins. This saw an impromptu ending with Rollins, still visibly limping, walking straight into a Blunt Force Trauma from Knight, who sealed the win. Latest updates from many insiders are that Rollins suffered a legitimate injury during the show. Solo Sikoa vs Jimmy Uso for the United States Championship Sikoa continued his run as the champion with help from his allies. Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga, and JC Mateo all interfered during the outing. But the US title holder picked up the victory after rolling up Uso while Tonga distracted him with Talla Tonga helping the pin to be kept in place with his leg. The aftermath of the bout was scintillating, with Jacob Fatu rescuing Uso from the MFT's beatdown. The segment also saw Talla and Fatu facing off. After this, Tonga dropped Jacob with a big boot, but 'The Samoan Werewolf' reacted strongly with a suicide drive onto the group. Fatu got a huge reception from the crowd and is pointing in the direction of a multi-man tag match at SummerSlam next month. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre The two former WWE titleholders opened the show with a solid outing. However, more than the in-ring action, it served as the precursor to a big tag team showdown with Orton teaming up with Jelly Roll to face McIntyre, joining Logan Paul. Orton and McIntyre went back and forth in a hard-hitting match, trading their signature moves. Toward the end, McIntyre hit Orton with a Claymore Kick, but 'The Viper' was saved when his leg landed on the bottom rope. Paul, who was at the ringside, had distracted Orton just before the kick, which led to an argument between Paul and Roll. Paul kept shoving Jelly Roll, who finally had enough and knocked Paul down with a shove. As McIntyre turned his attention back to the ring, he walked right into an RKO from Orton, who picked up the win. But that wasn't it! Paul attacked Orton after the match, only to be dropped by a strong forearm from Roll. As McIntyre turned his attention back to the ring, he walked right into an RKO from Orton, who picked up the win. But that wasn't it! Paul attacked Orton after the match, only to be dropped by a strong forearm from Roll. Then, out of nowhere, McIntyre hit Roll with another Claymore Kick, leaving him laid out. WWE officials rushed to help the musician, while Raw GM Adam Pearce scolded McIntyre for the attack. WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Live (July 12, 2025) Result: Solo Sikoa has help from the MFT in defending the United States Championship title against Jimmy Uso
Jimmy Uso v Solo Sikoa (Image via WWE) The United States Championship belt is up for grabs once more as Jimmy Uso comes for the title, this time with Solo Sikoa defending. Sikoa won the United States Championship title from Jacob Fatu after defeating him at the WWE Night of Champions. Now the two brothers are facing each other after an already heated match on SmackDown on July 11, when a minute distraction caused Sikoa to lose the match against Jimmy during their tag team bout. After losing against Jimmy Uso and LA Knight, Sikoa was even more inclined to lay it down on his brother, and the match was exciting to say the least. The power struggle in the Bloodline, if it can even be called that anymore continues, but it's the fans who are the real winners. Solo Sikoa defends his United States Champion title against Jimmy Uso Solo Sikoa makes his entry alongside MFT while Jimmy Uso was waiting for him at the ring. After yesterday's fight on SmackDown, everyone is looking forward to the big match. This is Jimmy's first-ever singles match for a championship in WWE , and Solo's first-ever defens of a title. Things started out hot, with both of the wrestlers coming in hot. Jimmy almost won after jumping on Solo from the top rope, but his opponent managed to kick him off right on time. Solo Sikoa (Image via WWE) Jimmy Uso had the upper hand for most of the match, and though Sikoa tried to change the tide a couple of times, Uso was able to bring things back on track. Unfortunately, the MFT, or specifically Talla Tonga, became the reason for his defeat. Just when it seemed like Solo was going to lose, he managed to change the whole scenario. Jimmy does a corkscrew off the top onto the entire group, but Talla Tonga comes in with a distraction. While he is trying to pile on the other, Solo uses this reprieve to roll Jimmy up, and Talla Tonga helps him by using his legs to keep Solo in place to take the win. Solo Sikoa defeats Jimmy Uso by pinfall. Things don't end there, as Jacob Fatu makes an entrance while the MFT are taking it out on Uso. Solo had him down with a Samoan Spike, but Fatu came in to shake things up. While it's not the Bloodline, a shift is incoming, and fans are waiting to see how things turn out.
