Man killed, 2 others hurt after shooting in Chatham neighborhood, police say
One person is dead and two others were taken to the hospital after a shooting overnight in the Chatham neighborhood. It happened Saturday just before midnight in the 100 block of West 87th Street, just off the Dan Ryan near the CTA Red Line stop. Police say the victims were all standing outside when an unknown person shot at them. A 25-year-old woman was shot in the head and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. A 24-year-old man was hit in the left shoulder and was taken in good condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital. Another 24-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. As of Sunday, no one is in custody. Area detectives are investigating.

What we know Police responded around 9:45 p.m. to a call and found a 31-year-old woman in the water at Lake Michigan, CPD said. Investigators learned the woman had drowned a 1-year-old boy. She was taken into custody and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center. The body of the baby was recovered by the Chicago Fire Department's Marine Unit and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Area detectives are investigating. No charges have been announced, so police did not identify the woman. The baby had not been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Police said the case was classified as a homicide.

Woman in custody after allegedly drowning baby in Lake Michigan, police say

Man, 37, seriously hurt after being shot while driving in Greater Grand Crossing
A 37-year-old is in serious condition after an argument led to a shooting and crash Sunday night in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 500 block of East 75th Street. According to Chicago police, the victim was arguing with an unknown man on the sidewalk. After the victim was leaving the scene in a silver SUV, he drove past the unknown man, who pulled out a handgun and fired gunshots at the vehicle, hitting the victim twice in the leg and once in the arm. The victim's SUV eventually stopped hitting a building. Fire crews treated the victim, and he was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. No arrests were made as of Monday. Area 2 detectives are investigating.
