Adamari Lopez bombshell: TV star hired a PI when she thought partner was cheating
Ever felt like snooping on a partner you suspect of cheating? Adamari Lopez has no problem with that. As long as someone is doing the prying, namely a professional. The former telenovela actress confessed around the 16 minute mark of Thursday's 'Ada y Chiqui de Show, ' a newish lifestyle show on YouTube with her pal Chiquibaby (aka Stephanie Himonidis Sedano), that she once hired a PI to do her dirty work. That's short for private investigator. The Univision personality ('Desiguales') and Chiqui were discussing who was the more jealous and toxic of the two, and the topic of affairs came up. 'It's like the old saying, 'Seek and you will find,'' said Lopez, touching her nose. 'You know what happens; we have an intuition.' Lopez went on to say it's better to leave than stay with a significant other who doesn't want to be with you. 'If someone gives me reason to be jealous and to make an accurate, correct and well-thought-out decision you have to gather all your sources,' she said. 'Or else you'll turn into a crazy person.' Lopez explained the process to Chiqui, who appeared shocked: You pay the PI, and he or she gives up the goods, including photos, videos, 'de todo' (everything). The Puerto Rican native claimed that men are really bad at hiding affairs. 'They swear that they know how to do things,' Lopez said. 'But they don't know a damn thing [about how to have a side piece].' The former 'Hoy Dia' star believed the reason many stray is they lack the 'huevos' to communicate if something is wrong. 'Well, if you're looking elsewhere, I can too,' she said. 'Then I can leave the relationship to find my peace, my tranquility and find a relationship that's worth it and one that isn't with a [bleep] who deceives you.' Lopez did not name the ex in question, but she was married to Latin pop star Luis Fonsi for roughly three years and later wrote a memoir about their tumultuous time together. In 2012's 'Viviendo' ('Living'), the breast cancer survivor divulged that the 'Despacito' singer was unfaithful to her, which he vehemently denied. A few years after the split, Lopez fell in love with her 'Mira Quién Baila' partner Toni Costa, with whom she has a daughter, now 10. They broke up in 2021; the reason was not publicly disclosed.

Here's why talk show queen Cristina just returned to Univision after 15 years
After almost two decades away from TV screens, Cristina Saralegui made a comeback back at the network where she became a household name — Univision. The reason? The legendary talk show host, 77, revived her beloved 'El Show de Crisitina' to interview Karol G Monday night in a special to discuss the Colombian singer's new album, 'Tropicoqueta.' We can thank the singer (born Carolina Giraldo Navarro) for the blast from the past — the pop star had her team reach out to Saralegui to see if she was game. The 34-year-old grew up watching 'El Show de Cristina,' which aired from 1989 to 2010, and doing a sitdown with her idol was a 'childhood dream come true.' At the top of the show, Saralegui turned the tables, with a question for her guest. 'The one thing I want to know is: Why me?' the industry vet asked. 'Why did you call me so much to get me out of the house?' Karol G explained that producing this record was a bucket-list project and she knew the role Cristina played in opening doors for Latin artists across the world. 'I fell in love with artists because of your interviews,' she told Cristina. 'You talked about topics like music, intimate and personal [things], topics that were uncomfortable, but in a respectful way.' Saralegui's Emmy winning show, based in Miami, did indeed cover a variety of controversial topics during its long run. It also featured appearances by big time celebrities such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Julio Iglesias and Emilio Estefan. During their interview, Saralegui ran snippets of chats with stars from shows past, like the infamous moment when slain Tejana singer Selena, who was still learning Spanish at that point in her career, called the No. 14 'diez y cuatro' instead of catorce. Saralegui graciously helped her laugh off the gaffe at the time. Other vintage clips — with snippets from icons Celia Cruz to Gloria Estefan — ran as well, filling Karol G and Cristina with nostalgia. The interview, which you can see on YouTube, lasted about an hour, with no mention of whether this was a one-off for something more regular for Saralegui. The pop-up must have been surreal for the journalist, whose sudden cancellation at Univision roughly two decades ago she called 'bittersweet' at the time. 'I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to host 'El Show de Cristina' over the past 20 years and work with the incredible people at Univision,' said the television pioneer in a statement back when her show went off the air. 'It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career.' The so-called Latina Oprah went on to star in a short lived variety show for Telemundo called 'Pa'lante con Cristina,' after her signature phrase, 'Forward with Cristina.' The University of Miami alum also hosted an eponymous lifestyle radio program on Sirius XM and wrote another book called 'Rise Up & Shine.'

Cristina Saralegui returns to talk-show scene with wide-ranging Karol G interview
Almost 15 years after wrapping up her long-running talk show, Cristina Saralegui returned to her broadcasting home of Univision to conduct a special in-depth interview with singer Karol G. And yes, it actually is the Cristina. 'If you think what you're about to watch on your TV is a product of that famous artificial intelligence, I am happy to inform you all that you are 100% mistaken,' Saralegui said at the top of the hourlong special. '[Karol G] managed to get me out of my cave and return to make 'El Show de Cristina' here on Univision.' The first question posed to the the 'Provenza' singer was perhaps the biggest query in people's minds: Why did she need to be interviewed by the retired TV host? 'I told my team I have a very special dream. I grew up watching your interviews, they were a window for many Latin artists around the world,' Karol G said. 'If there's going to a first interview for my album, it has to be on 'El Show de Cristina.'' The 34-year-old artist then spoke about the creative process and meaning behind her latest release, 'Tropicoqueta.' 'I feel like every one of my albums represents an evolved personality that shows who I am as a person,' she said of her newest album. 'Beyond just the use of tropical sounds, it's about the joy that I have in my heart from traveling the world and making my culture known every place I visit.' The 'TQG' artist also spoke about collaborating with artists like Greeicy Rendón, Thalía and Marco Antonio Solís — who surprised Karol G with a video message during the interview. 'I'm doing something rare, which is to make songs written by different composers, but I really liked ['Coleccionando Heridas'] when Karol G sent it to me directly,' Solís said. 'I've seen her documentary and I know all that's happened in her career, and I congratulate her with all my heart because nothing has been easy for her.' Karol G then shared a story about how she watched Los Bukis on tour a few years back and was absolutely blown away by how they hadn't lost a step in all their years apart. Following one commercial break, Saralegui and Karol G watched archival video of Selena's interview with the TV personality in which the 'Como la Flor' singer famously slipped up and used the word 'diez y cuatro' instead of 'catorce,' to say 14 in Spanish. 'I think that a lot of women are superfans of her ... with her authenticity, her way of being, with her joy, she touched a lot of people, and with time, as generations pass, [her impact] is like an echo that still resonates,' Karol G said as she praised Selena's lingual flub as 'iconic.' The Colombian artist also commented on her admiration for the other strong Latina musicians whom Saralegui had previously interviewed like Gloria Estefan and Celia Cruz, while expressing how honored she was to be a part of that lineage. After discussing the difficulties of working in a musical genre that has historically been dominated by male artists and how she handles her haters, Karol G flipped the script on Saralegui by asking why she agreed to host the interview. 'I've met a lot of artists. I've only met a few artists who know what they're doing, who have staked their place, who have garnered respect,' Saralegui said. 'From the beginning, I told my husband, 'Look at this girl who sold out the Bernabéu in Spain four times.''

Jorge Ramos on his new digital series: ‘I have a few pending battles left'
Journalist Jorge Ramos is officially back in the spotlight following his departure from TelevisaUnivision last December. 'Journalists never retire and I have a few pending battles left,' said Ramos in a phone call with The Times. On Wednesday, the Mexican reporter announced his new independent daily news program, 'Así veo las cosas,' on Instagram. Featuring interviews with notable figures and everyday people alike, his broadcasts will be accessible across multiple social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook and TikTok beginning June 23. While most of his segments will be filmed in a Miami-based studio, Ramos expects to be in the field, speaking with community members. 'I want to be with the people, transmitting live,' he said. 'This is a dangerous and critical time for Latinos and immigrants,' Ramos added. 'There's not enough spaces for immigrants' voices to be heard and to counter all the lies told about us.' Early last week, Ramos teased his comeback to broadcast journalism in the wake of the protests against ICE sweeps across Los Angeles. 'This is a grave moment, especially with the presence of the National Guard in Los Angeles,' said Ramos in an Instagram Reel, uploaded on June 8. 'We have to explain why so many immigrants feel betrayed, why so many immigrants feel persecuted,' he continued. 'Because what is happening in Los Angeles is a motive for frustration and desperation among the Latino and immigrant community.' In the same clip, Ramos acknowledged his six-month hiatus. 'I know that I have many months out of the news and screens for various reasons, but this is the exact moment that I must return to tell [you] what is happening,' said Ramos. On Dec. 13, Ramos concluded his 38-year run with 'Noticierio Univision,' the most-watched Spanish-language newscast, along with his Sunday morning public affairs program, 'Al Punto,' which he anchored for 17 years. Throughout his career, Ramos established himself as a fierce reporter known for pressing world leaders with tough questions, particularly surrounding the topic of immigration. 'Never, never in my career has someone censored me or dictated what I say or don't say in the U.S.,' Ramos told The Times. Many may recall Ramos directly referring to former President Barack Obama as 'Deporter-in-Chief' during a 2014 interview aired on Univision, citing his mass deportation efforts and a failed campaign promise to pass comprehensive immigration reform. Less than a year later, Ramos made headlines when he was ejected from a Donald Trump press conference in Iowa after refusing to sit down. Ramos had asked the Republican candidate about his promise to build a wall and deport millions of undocumented immigrants; in response, Trump told Ramos to 'go back to Univision.' News of Ramos' departure came last September, when parent company TelevisaUnivision announced that both parties had 'mutually agreed' not to renew Ramos' contract at the end of the year. While no further details were disclosed, Ramos was the second major figure to leave after Televisa merged with Univision. León Krauze, who anchored Univision's late-night newscast, resigned in 2023, notably less than a week after Televisa journalist Enrique Acevedo conducted a nearly hour-long, nonconfrontational interview with President Trump. Ramos' exit from broadcast television came at a troubling time overall for network evening newscasts, which have struggled to compete with fast-paced content creator hubs like YouTube. According to a 2024 Pew Research Center report about U.S. Latino news consumption, 65% of Latinos said they largely consumed news through their digital devices, a detail that Ramos seemed to acknowledge with the launch of 'Así veo las cosas.' 'I've been fortunate enough to be a very privileged journalist,' said Ramos. 'I want to continue using that platform for other voices that need to be heard, but aren't.' He jokingly referred to himself now as an avant-garde 'content creator,' but added: 'I hope I can differentiate myself by the journalistic experience and credibility I have gained over 40 years. 'I think journalism is more important than ever, and my bet is that people who saw me on TV will follow me on social media,' said Ramos.

Fernando Colunga and Livia Brito star in "Amanecer," which debuts July 7, 2025. Fernando Colunga is heading back to Univision in July. The longtime Mexican Televisa leading man of countless hit telenovelas - from the 1990s to the present, such as La Usurpadora, Amor Real and El maleficio - will be headlining Amanecer. He co-stars in the new revenge-filled romance alongside Livia Brito, who has also had her share of recent leading roles, including Mujer de Nadie and Minas de Pasión, both TelevisaUnivision productions. Amanecer centers on Leonel Carranza (Colunga), a once-kind landowner whose life is shattered by betrayal and tragedy.
