Image via WWE John Cena was almost about to not get into wrestling, which could have led to WWE not getting their 'GOAT.' WWE has seen many top stars define eras and generations. One of the biggest names in that conversation has been none other than John Cena. The Unseen 17 has emerged as one of the biggest attractions in professional wrestling, as the face of WWE. However, the company would have missed out on 'The Greatest of All Time' had Cena decided to go a different direction at the same time he encountered. So I was going to drive down and sign up, and literally the weekend I was going to go. My buddy was like, 'Hey, we are training in Orange County, would you wanna do that?' I said I'll take a look at that ... and I remember driving to LA Box, it's a one-storey glass building and I could see the ring through the glass and I was like, 'I will deal with the suck, Monday to Friday because on the weekends, I'll be a Superhero and that's how I approached it. " Had John Cena decided to go for the Marines that weekend, WWE would have never gotten one of its marquee names, and the wrestling world would have looked very different. John Cena's opponent for WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Revealed
Image via WWE John Cena 's next match has been revealed to take place at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event coming up next week. John Cena has been a ruthless force on his farewell tour and has the Undisputed WWE Championship firmly in his grasp. The Unseen 17 is coming off a huge win, defeating his longtime rival, Randy Orton, at WWE Backlash in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. However, the events that took place at the event and at the post-show set the tone for Cena's next match in the Stamford-based promotion. Who is John Cena's next opponent in WWE? On May 16th, 2025, the edition of Friday Night SmackDown, commentator Wade Barrett sat down with R-Truth for an interview to discuss John Cena's actions at WWE Backlash. In the final moments of his match against Randy Orton, Truth rushed to the ring to save his childhood hero from getting punt kicked by The Viper. That distraction ultimately led to Orton losing the match to Cena in the last in-ring showdown between the two WWE stalwarts. At the Backlash post-show conference, John Cena was answering the media when R-Truth interrupted him. He brought up some remarks by the WWE Universe about Cena, which left him angered and he put Truth through the media table. Barrett asked about the same and Truth, in his classic confused style, took the conversation somewhere else. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Cost Of Amusement Park Equipment From Mexico Might Surprise You Amusement Park Equipment | search ads Click Here Undo However, he did mention that the man who put him through the table was not his child hero John Cena. That man stood for Hustle, Loyalty and Respect and this Cena was not that guy. As the interview came to a close, the former United States Champion remembered the principle of 'Never Give Up' that the old John Cena stood for and stated that he will take down that version of Cena at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Right after the interview, the match was made official for the event, although it will be a non-title bout. The stage has been set for two WWE veterans to collide at the vintage show. So it remains to be seen if Truth made another mistake in agreeing for this bout against the evil John Cena.
