Katanning Wanderers produced a brilliant win over reigning premiers Boddington, booting 16 goals in wet conditions to strengthen their Upper Great Southern Football League finals hopes on Sunday. The Eagles, who sit one spot above the Tigers on the ladder, got more than they bargained for as the visitors were ruthless in their attack, securing an upset 45-point win in round 11 of the competition. Despite the downpour, the Eagles took off with the ball and landed two swift majors in the first five minutes of the game before the Tigers responded with their own, making for a constant back and forth that ended in a two-point lead for the home side at quarter-time. The Tigers were wild with their charge in second term, crunching their opponent with ease led by a dominant display from best players Jake Blight, Toby Quartermaine, Zane Sutherland, Caleb Keley and James Laurino. Four goals to nil in the second pushed the Tigers to a healthy half-time lead as they went on to secure their sixth win of the season. The Tigers booted five goals in the third term and two in the last on their way to a vital 16.9 (105) to 9.6 (60) victory. Joshua McMahon, Ryan Pontillo, Tyrone Roe and Tramain Way each booted three majors for the visitors. Eagles spearhead Lloyd Padwick kicked five goals in a losing affair while Troy Egerton-Warburton, Dylan Kirk, Ben and Matthew Sherry, Jarrod Salmeri and Lewis Parsons were strong contributors for the defending premiers, who face a tricky run home. The Tigers are level on points with the Eagles heading into the final three rounds of the season. Kukerin-Dumbleyung remain firmly in the finals mix after a 23-point win over Brookton-Pingelly in Brookton on Sunday. The Cougars led at every change and despite losing the final term they notched a fifth win of the season to stay one game outside the top four. Howie Clegg starred with five goals in the 12.9 (81) to 8.10 (58) triumph, while teammates Toby Perrin, Liam Park, Austin Shotter, Charlie Keast and Stockton Cruz-Shotter shone. Finn O'Reilly finished with six goals for the Panthers. Wickepin virtually stitched up a top two finish and finals double chance, beating Williams by 26 points in Wickepin. In a low-scoring affair, the Warriors kicked three unanswered goals in the second term on their way to a 7.10 (52) to 4.2 (26) result. The home side were best served by Kendal Ballard, Miles Franklin, Ryan Melvin, Sam Fortini, Jordan Flavel and Regan Wilson, while Kayle Kirby kicked three majors. Wagin tested flag fancies Narrogin in the opening term but the Hawks extended their winning streak to 10 games on Sunday. The margin was just eight points at quarter-time at Clayton Road Oval but the Bulldogs lost Zac South and John Lee to injury as they fell 72 points short in the end. Four goals to nil in the second handed the Hawks the momentum by the long break. The home side kicked nine goals in the rampant second half to win 17.15 (117) to 6.9 (45) as Coen Jackman proved a handful, with five goals for the Hawks.

Williams notched a nailbiting one-point win at home while Narrogin and Katanning Wanderers were also impressive winners in round six of the Upper Great Southern Football League competition on Sunday. The Cats claimed their second win of the season, coming from behind in the last quarter to beat Brookton-Pingelly. Both teams kicked three goals in the final stanza, but the home side managed 3.3 as the claimed a tense victory, 10.7 (67) to 10.6 (66). The Panthers kicked the first goal of the game and led by a single point at quarter time. There was plenty of pressure from both sides but the Cats hit back with four majors to the Panthers' one, giving them at a comfortable 19-point lead at half-time. The tables turned in third quarter, as the visitors took control with four majors to hold a slender one-point lead at three quarter time. Jackson Ryan and Gerard Medlen proved vital for the Cats with three and two goals respectively while Kyle Shanahan, Simon Panizza, Bradley Jetta, Brady Hill and Nic Fry were outstanding as the Cats clawed their way across the line. For the Panthers, Finn O'Reilly was dynamite in the forward half booting five majors in a losing affair. Panthers Ryley Conlan was strong in the air with his marks while Jacob Sounness, Liam Beacom, Adam Brock, Finn Taylor and Bailey Parsons all worked tirelessly. Reigning premiers Boddington had their winning streak ended by a feisty Narrogin side, with the previously unstoppable team finally roadblocked with a 26-point defeat at Clayton Road Oval. Malachi Bolton stunned for the new ladder-topping Hawks, booting a whopping seven majors in the upset, well supported in victory by Brad Timms, Coen Jackman, Declan Phillips, Tom Kilpatrick and Fraser Goode. Ben Sherry (one goal), Matt Giumelli (one), Blake Reynolds, Jarrod Salmeri, Jacob Schorer, Jordan Hughes and Luke Kirk (three) all shone for the Eagles in their first loss of the season, 13.15 (93) to 10.7 (67). Katanning Wanderers were keen to impress at home on a special memorial pink day, rallying from a neck-and-neck third term to dispatch Wagin with a 14.13 (97) to 11.8 (74) win. Corey Eades, Joshua McMahon (both three) and James Laurino (two) starred as the Tigers headline act as they kicked five goals in the final term to steal a 23-point win. Jake Blight, Braydon Keley and Thomas Hamon also played well for the Tigers. The Bulldogs were best served by Nick Menegola, George Gibson, Nicholas McMahon, Riley Hill, Alfred Finlayson and Max Mumme. Kukerin-Dumbleyung took a strong early lead and were on track for an upset win over Wickepin at Nenke Oval. The Cougars and entered the long break 35 points up but their confidence was rattled in the second half, and they rolled over as the Warriors went on to win 12.16 (88) to 9.8 (62). Ryan Melvin (four) and David Roche (three) were the main avenues to goal for the visitors while Dion Anthony, Flynn Spark, Damon Watt and Royce Melvin were also influential. The home side were well led by Will Liston, Howie Clegg (four), Jye Depane, Charlie Keast, Matt Dare and Mitchell O'Neill.

A ruthless Narrogin snared their fourth victory in a row to climb to second place on the 2025 Upper Great Southern Football League ladder, thumping Kukerin-Dumbleyung at Clayton Road Oval on Sunday. Malachi Bolton was the star of the show with eight goals in the Hawks' comfortable 60-point win in round five of the season. The Cougars kicked their first two goals with ease in the opening term, but the Hawks hit back with two of their own before quarter time to lead by a point. In a dominant display the Hawks piled on six goals in the second term, setting up the 15.13 (103) to 6.7 (43) result. The visitors kicked another two majors, but Bolton was finding plenty of open space as his Hawks led by 31 points at the long break. The Cougars won the third term kicking 2.6 but were held scoreless in the final term as the Hawks added five more majors. Declin Mumby, Coen Jackman, Anton Hanson, Gregor Taylor and Jordan Heil joined Bolton as the most influential players on the ground while teammate Noah Bowen-Zoccoli received a yellow card after a fight broke out. The Cougars were best served by Will Liston, Peter Joyce, Liam Park, Toby Perrin, Jye Depane and Samuel Doney while Peter Gioulis kicked two goals. Katanning Wanderers moved inside the top four after a gritty second win of the season, downing Williams at Quartermaine Oval on Sunday. It was a dour struggle for most of the low-scoring clash but a five-goal second term from the Tigers guided them to a nine-point win. Caleb Keley and Ryan Pontillo booted two goals each in attack as the Tigers handed the Cats their fourth loss of the season, 9.9 (63) to 7.12 (54). Zane Sutherland, Tyrone Roe, Toby Quartermaine, Thomas Hamon and William Roe were terrific for the home side. The Cats led at quarter time by one point and kicked the only goal of the last term but struggled forward of centre as only Michael Cowcher and Michael Forman kicked multiple goals. Midfielder Kyle Shanahan ran rampant in the middle for the losing side and was well supported by Luca Gangemi, Simon Panizza, Jackson Ryan, Brady Hill and Luke Dobrich. On Saturday in the top of the table clash Boddington remain unbeaten after holding out Wickepin by 41 points in Boddington. The reigning premiers were too slick in the opening half and kicked four unanswered goals in the third to secure a fifth straight win. Lloyd Padwick (four goals) and Harry Cabalzar (three) were hard to stop while Ben Sherry, Troy Egerton-Warburton, Jarrod Salmeri, Callum Giles-Morton and Kiattisak Deechaiyaphum played well in the 13.8 (86) to 6.9 (45) victory. For the Warriors, David Roche (four) and Justin Morisey (two) kicked all six of their goals while Callum Hardie, Dion Anthony, Fraser Wittwer, Ben Hankinson and Ryan Melvin were standout contributors. In the other Saturday fixture Brookton-Pingelly stormed home with five goals in the last term to pinch a draw against Wagin at Brookton. The Bulldogs led by 18 points at the final change but a determined Panthers side rallied and kicked 5.1, as the game ended in a draw 14.7 (91) apiece. The home side were best served by Liam Beacom, Sean Fletcher (three goals), Shannon Fernando, Reese Richardson, Finn Taylor and Adam Brock while Jayden Pickett also kicked three majors. Kym Monteath was a big focal point in attack for the visitors with five majors while Bronson Harry was also damaging with four. Riley Hill, George Gibson, Michael Seeds, Nicholas Mcmahon and Matthew Thomas also had impact for the Bulldogs.

A determined Williams produced a slick start on the way to their first win of the 2025 Upper Great Southern Football League competition , downing Kukerin-Dumbleyung by 28 points on Sunday In round three of the new season, the Cats booted five goals in the first and third quarters to ensure they rebounded from losses to Wagin and Narrogin in the opening fortnight. Bradley Jetta kicked the first goal of the game at Williams, one of four majors in his first game for the club, while Jackson Ryan also booted four in the 15.7 (97) to 9.15 (69) win. The Cats had three on the board within the first 10 minutes, including one from veteran Simon Panizza. The Cougars were immediately on the back foot, losing Konnah Holmes to a blood nose and trailing by 26 points at quarter-time as they were fired up by assistant coach Nathan Ditchburn at the break. Ruckman Mack Byron gave the Cougars the perfect start in the second term with a tap to teammates who set up an easy goal. However they would be the only joy as the visitors could only manage six more behinds and the home side kicked three more majors to stretch the buffer to 34 points at half-time. The Cats piled on another five majors in the third quarter as the game became out of reach for the visitors. The Cougars fought back well in the last term as the Cats tired. The visitors booted four goals to two but the damage had been done. Jetta, Kyle Shanahan, Josh Cowcher, Cameron Hillman and Nick Panizza were terrific for the winners while Michael Cowcher and Simon Panizza kicked two goals each. Peter Gioulis and Will Liston each kicked two goals for the Cougars and teammates Mitchell O'Neill, Josh Harrison, player-coach Jye Depane, Stockton Cruz Shotter and Toby Perrin also worked hard but their side remains winless after three games. Boddington and Wickepin continued on their winning ways, both recording thumping victories. The Eagles piled on seven goals in the third term after an 11-goal first half on their way to a 96-point win at Matera Oval against Wagin on Sunday. Lloyd Padwick finished with nine goals and fellow forward Mitchell Dobson bagged seven as the reigning premiers were far too slick, winning 21.12 (138) to 6.6 (42). Harry Cabalzar, Zakery Pretty, Padwick, Jarrod Salmeri, Samuel Cooper and Dylan Kirk were the Eagles' best. The home side was best served by Nick Menegola, Nicholas Mcmahon, Max Mumme, Josh Kirk (two goals) and Luke Rockley. At Wickepin on Saturday, the Warriors ran out 78-point winners over Brookton-Pingelly as Kayle Kirby kicked five goals. Kirby along with David Roche (four) and Ryan Melvin (three) did the damage for the Warriors up front. The Warriors were on fire early with seven goals in the first quarter setting up the 18.6 (114) to 5.8 (38) win. Miles Franklin, Roche, Fraser Wittwer, Jordan Flavel, Callum Hardie and Melvin all starred for the home side. The Panther were best served by Sean Fletcher, Reese Richardson, Liam Beacom, Brett Woodhouse, Jacob Sounness and Jason Daniels. In the other Saturday fixture, Narrogin were big 98-point winners over Katanning Wanderers at Clayton Road Oval. A seven-goal second term guided the Hawks to an emphatic 17.21 (123) to 3.7 (25) result. Declan Phillips, Declin Mumby, Jordan Heil, Jack Walsh, Coen Jackman, Rhys Hardie and Will Wiggett (four goals) were superb for the home side. The Tigers' best players were James Laurino, Ryan Pontillo, Toby Quartermaine, Corey Eades, Joshua McMahon and Jed Kowald.
